After Gender Transformation, I Was Adjusted by the System into the Demon Queen’s Strongest Maid

Although that woman Camilla had a terrible personality, she was never sloppy when it came to work.

Every single word in this draft was the crystallization of the two of them spending the past few hours wracking their brains and arguing back and forth.

Perfect.

As long as this was presented to Hera early tomorrow morning, most of what followed could be handed over to Camilla. She could finally rest properly!

Lilia carefully tied the scroll with a red string, even making a neat bow.

“Off work.”

She muttered softly to herself.

The moment her body relaxed, exhaustion crashed over her like a tsunami.

Her lower back ached as if it had been run over by a truck, and her stiff neck crackled with every slight movement.

Right now, all she wanted was to throw herself back onto the small bed in the maid room and sleep until the world turned dark.

She pushed herself up by the edge of the table, her knees going weak.

She hadn’t even taken a step yet.

【Ding!】

Lilia’s half-raised body dropped right back into the chair.

Her face turned pale.

Don’t give me a mission.

Please, don’t give me a mission.

She was completely useless right now—her brain wouldn’t work, her body wouldn’t move. Even if someone told her to pick up a hundred gold coins at this moment, she would choose to sleep first.

The pale blue system panel opened mercilessly, red text flashing across it.

【Triggered Sudden Daily Mission: Whispers of the Dark Night】

【Mission Description: The long night stretches on. Her Majesty, the Queen who rules the Abyss, is currently troubled by a certain “discomfort.” As her sole exclusive Personal Maid, you are obligated to go to her bedchamber immediately, without delay.】

【Mission Objective: Go to Hera’s bedchamber and perform “soothing.”】

【Time Limit: Immediate.】

【Mission Failure Penalty: Deduct all existing points, and the “maid outfit” will be forcibly replaced with “Limited Edition Erotic Catgirl Outfit (with bell)” for twenty-four hours.】

【Reward: Queen’s Pleasure +10, Random Attribute Point +1.】

Lilia stared at the words “catgirl” and “bell,” the corners of her eyes twitching wildly.

Was this something a human would do?

Just moments ago, she had been chatting and strategizing with a duke, and now she had to become a late-night caretaker?

“System, do you even have a heart?”

Lilia cursed the System’s entire family line in her mind.

The System played dead, remaining completely silent.

Not going?

Just imagine walking through the corridors of the Palace of Eternal Night tomorrow wearing cat ears, a bell hanging from her neck, jingling with every step—only to be seen by Camilla…

Lilia shuddered.

“You win.”

Grinding her teeth, Lilia stuffed the red-string-tied parchment scroll into her chest. If Hera was in a bad mood and wanted to kill someone, she could throw this out to block a hit.

She turned.

Lifted her skirt.

And sprinted.

To hell with exhaustion.

If she really had to wear that catgirl outfit, she might as well slam her head into a pillar in the Palace of Eternal Night and end it quickly.

……

The walls on both sides of the corridor were embedded with dim blue magic crystal lamps, their pale light stretching shadows long and short.

Lilia’s high heels struck against the obsidian floor, producing hurried and lonely “tap tap” sounds.

The faster she ran, the more uneasy she felt.

She slowed down, her breathing becoming slightly uneven.

At the empty doorway, only two clusters of magical flames burned quietly.

Lilia stopped at the door, her heart pounding wildly.

The system countdown was still ticking.

Damn it.

She adjusted her messy bangs from running and slapped her cheeks hard, trying to make herself look less like a refugee who had just finished a marathon.

She steadied her breathing.

“Ha…”

Lilia raised her hand.

Her knuckles tapped against the cold door.

“Knock, knock, knock.”

The sound echoed through the empty corridor, unusually harsh.

No response.

There wasn’t even the usual oppressive magical pressure that almost overflowed from within.

The ominous feeling in Lilia’s heart grew stronger and stronger.

She leaned closer to the door crack, bracing herself as she spoke in the most respectful, most humble voice:

“Master… Lilia… has arrived.”

No response.

Dead silence.

Lilia bit her lower lip, placing her palm against the door and pushing slightly.

“Creak—”

The door wasn’t locked.

A gap opened.

A wave of cold air rushed out instantly.

Lilia couldn’t help but shiver.

She squeezed inside sideways and closed the door behind her.

There were no lights in the bedchamber.

The vast space was swallowed by darkness. Only near the massive royal bed in the distance was there a faint, unstable red glow flickering.

The light was dim, like embers that could extinguish at any moment.

A strange smell filled the air.

A mix of rust and a cloying floral scent.

Holding her breath, Lilia stepped forward carefully.

With every step, the cold from the floor crept further up through her shoes.

Until she moved past the massive screen.

At that moment, Lilia’s pupils shrank sharply.

The Queen, who should have been resting on the bed, was not there.

Beneath the large bed draped in black silk, a figure was curled up on the floor.

Hera.

The arrogant Queen who ruled over countless demons was now curled into a small, tight ball.

Her nightgown was soaked with cold sweat, clinging tightly to her body.

Her usually smooth, waterfall-like black hair was now disheveled, scattered across the floor, covering her face.

But what truly terrified Lilia was—

Around Hera, the ground was covered in a thick layer of ice.

Like living tendrils, it crept along her ankles and wrists, climbing upward bit by bit, as if trying to completely seal her within.

Lilia stood frozen in place, unsure whether to advance or retreat.

If she made even the slightest sound now, would Hera—like this—mistake her for an intruder and blast her away with magic?

At that moment—

The figure on the ground moved slightly.

From beneath the black hair, a pair of golden eyes snapped open.

“…Get out.”

Her voice was hoarse, trembling, yet as cold as a blade.

“Get out… who let you in… get out!”

With Hera’s low growl, the black ice on the ground exploded instantly, countless sharp ice spikes spreading wildly outward along the floor.

Lilia instinctively wanted to turn and run.

But—

She hesitated, and the System’s prompt rang out.

【Warning! If the target is not contacted before the mission countdown reaches zero, it will be judged as a failure immediately.】

【Cat Ear Outfit generating… Loading progress 10%…】

The system panel blocked her vision mercilessly.

Lilia’s feet were nailed to the ground.

All or nothing.

Lilia closed her eyes and threw the parchment scroll from her arms onto the floor.

“I’m not leaving.”

She heard her own voice trembling, but her legs moved forward uncontrollably.

One step.

Two steps.

Ice spikes brushed past her feet, tearing the hem of her maid outfit.

“You’re courting death…”

“I am your exclusive maid.” Lilia interrupted her, her voice rising, carrying a desperate resolve, “You said it yourself—I am your possession.”

She walked up to Hera, ignoring the bone-chilling cold.

“How can a possession leave its master at a time like this?”

Lilia didn’t even think.

Her body reacted faster than her mind.

Since it was a “soothing” mission—

She knelt down, spread her arms, and hugged that ice-cold, trembling body without hesitation.

Holding tightly onto the Demon Queen who could blow her into pieces at any moment.
