Incredible Insight: Toy Factory Discovers Swarm Drones

Chapter 247 Toy Man and Open SchemeIn the conference room, the conversation was on the verge of sprinting off toward materials science.

The group of Experts was getting more and more excited; some even pulled out their pocket notebooks to start sketching molecular structures. Judging by their posture, it looked as if they were about to spontaneously hold an academic seminar on carbon fiber toughening right there and then.

They had completely forgotten the real agenda.

Looking at this group of old colleagues who forgot their own families the moment they started talking about technology, the General Manager of the Eastern Country, Zhou Weiguo, who was sitting at the head of the table, felt his mouth twitch violently.

He was speechless, feeling his temples throbbing.

”Ahem!”

Zhou Weiguo had to cough loudly, the sound echoing through the conference room.

This cough finally brought the souls of the Experts, who had wandered off to who-knows-where, back to reality.

Everyone froze for a moment before realizing where they were. One by one, they sheepishly put away their notebooks, sat up straight, and turned their gazes back to Comrade Xiao Zhang, who was standing in the center.

Seeing that the situation was under control, Zhou Weiguo took a deep breath and forcibly dragged everyone’s attention back to the main topic.

He looked at Comrade Xiao Zhang again with burning eyes and posed the most critical question, the one weighing most heavily on everyone’s minds at that moment: ”We acknowledge that this toy factory is incredible, but how did he launch it?”

Once this question was asked, the conference room fell silent again.

Exactly. How was it launched?

Building it is one thing, but getting it up into space is an entirely different matter!

Over ten thousand satellites!

How many carrier rockets would that require? How large a launch site would be needed? How massive a ground support system would be required?

No matter how impressive the Li Family Toy Factory is, it’s just a factory. Could it really have dug a launch silo in its own backyard?

Furthermore, with such a massive operation, were the world’s radars and reconnaissance satellites blind? How could there not be even a whisper of news?

Faced with the inquisitive gazes of Zhou Weiguo and the Experts, Comrade Xiao Zhang remained as calm as ever.

He spoke as if he were recounting gossip about a neighbor—his tone was steady, devoid of any boasting, and carried only the indifference of someone stating facts.

”Actually, we have our neighbor, Curry Country, to thank for this.”

Comrade Xiao Zhang spoke slowly, and the very first sentence left everyone stunned.

Curry Country? The unlucky guy that just blew up a rocket? What did that have to do with them?

Immediately after, Comrade Xiao Zhang calmly recounted the entire plan, a stroke of genius by Li Jiajun that could be described as ”borrowing a chicken to lay eggs.”

”Factory Director Li, Li Jiajun, received a large order from Curry Country due to some commercial reasons.”

”The other party requested a custom batch of high-performance ’toy sky rockets’.”

”And Comrade Li Jiajun keenly realized that they actually intended to take these ’toys’ back, scale them up, and use them to manufacture carrier rockets.”

”So, when he delivered the products, he deliberately held something back.”

At this point, Comrade Xiao Zhang paused, a glint of amusement flashing in his eyes: ”He hid the micro-satellites he developed himself extremely ingeniously within the structural gaps of these ’semi-finished products’—specifically, in the layers between the rocket casings and the engines.”

”These satellites are extremely small and remain in a dormant state, fully integrated into the rocket’s structure. They would be very difficult to detect even with an X-ray scan.”

The conference room was deathly silent; everyone sat with their mouths agape, listening in utter astonishment.

Hiding satellites inside the rocket’s casing? Getting someone else to build your rocket, and then having them launch your satellites for you? This move... was absolutely insane!

But that wasn’t even the wildest part. Comrade Xiao Zhang continued:

”The most critical step was the final launch.”

”As everyone knows, due to their inadequate technology, Curry Country’s rocket exploded after reaching low Earth orbit.”

”To the rest of the world, that was a total failure—an expensive fireworks show.”

”But!” Comrade Xiao Zhang emphasized, his voice tinged with admiration for that young Factory Director:

”For Li Jiajun, that explosion was precisely the most perfect part of his plan.”

”He used the massive shockwave generated by the rocket’s explosion as the final power source.”

”The force of the explosion instantly scattered those ten thousand-plus micro-satellites into their predetermined orbital planes.”

”Then, they automatically activated and, using a unique distributed protocol, completed their final deployment and networking in an extremely short amount of time.”

”Just like that, under the cover of an aerospace accident that shocked the world, our Starlink was born, silently and without a trace.”

...

As Comrade Xiao Zhang finished speaking, the entire conference room fell into a long, suffocating silence. It was absolutely quiet. One could likely hear a pin drop.

Every Expert present, including Zhou Weiguo, who had seen his fair share of storms, felt their scalps tingle and goosebumps rise all over their bodies.

Shock. A shock that defied description.

They had spent their entire lives in aerospace and scientific research; their thinking had long been confined within the framework of rigorous scientific processes.

Launch a satellite? That meant building a rocket, applying for an orbital slot, scheduling a launch window, and igniting for liftoff.

But now, someone was telling them that it could be done this way? Hiding satellites inside someone else’s rocket? Using a rocket explosion to launch them?

Was this even something a carbon-based lifeform could dream up?

This was absurdity itself—it was absolutely ridiculous!

Yet, upon closer reflection, the logic was so seamless, so brilliant!

Borrowing a chicken to lay eggs, deceiving everyone right under their noses. Not only did he not spend a penny, he got a free ride on someone else’s launch capability, and used an ”accident” to perfectly conceal the fact that the satellites had been launched, bypassing the entire world’s reconnaissance!

This wasn’t just engineering; this was tactical deception!

All the Experts were thoroughly stunned by the imagination and execution of this plan; no one doubted its authenticity anymore. Because a plan this absurd couldn’t be made up—only a true mad genius could pull it off!

After a brief silence, Zhou Weiguo, who was sitting at the head of the table, saw his eyes suddenly blaze with intensity! It was the ecstasy of finding a way out of a desperate situation.

He suddenly recalled the dire situation the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was in, having been pushed into a corner by the Ugly Country and preparing to submit a proposal to the United Nations ”opposing the unowned status of space.”

At that time, they were being forced to oppose it and fight for a shred of say because they lacked their own satellites and feared the Ugly Country would seize all the orbital slots.

It was the sorrow of the weak, a defensive move born of desperation. But now! The situation had changed! It had completely changed!

We already had over ten thousand satellites up in space! And they were exactly in those golden orbital slots! Why the hell would we oppose it now?

If we went ahead and submitted that proposal now, wouldn’t we be fools? Wouldn’t we be slapping ourselves in the face?

”Bang!” Zhou Weiguo slapped the table in excitement and stood up abruptly, his movement so sudden he nearly knocked over the chair behind him.

”Quick!” he said loudly, his voice raspy from over-excitement. ”I need to call Minister Wang at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs immediately! Tell them to withdraw that proposal!”

”We can’t oppose it! Absolutely not! We’re the big players now! If that proposal is submitted, wouldn’t we be shooting ourselves in the foot?”

As he spoke, he reached for the secure phone in his pocket, his fingers trembling slightly.

The surrounding Experts nodded in agreement; they felt the General Manager was right. Since they had already claimed the spot, they needed to protect it. How could they possibly oppose the ”first come, first served” rule now?

However, just as Zhou Weiguo pulled out his phone, ”Wait.” Comrade Xiao Zhang, who had been standing to the side, suddenly spoke up.

He looked at the ecstatic Zhou Weiguo, shook his head, a meaningful smile appearing on his face, and said in a calm tone: ”Why withdraw it?”

Zhou Weiguo froze, his hand stopping mid-motion. ”Huh? Not withdraw it? Then don’t tell me we still...”

Comrade Xiao Zhang looked at him, the light of wisdom flashing in his eyes, and said, enunciating every word: ”We won’t just refrain from withdrawing it—we are going to oppose it even more fiercely!”

What?

Zhou Weiguo was stunned on the spot. He stared blankly at Comrade Xiao Zhang, his mind unable to process the logic for a moment. ’Oppose it fiercely?’ ’Haven’t we already gained the advantage? Why would we still oppose it?’ ’Isn’t that schizoid?’

However, just one second later, as an old fox who had spent years navigating the officialdom and strategic levels, a flash of insight struck Zhou Weiguo. His pupils suddenly constricted. He understood! He realized the astonishing ”open conspiracy” behind this!

If we didn’t oppose it, and instead directly agreed or withdrew the proposal, the Ugly Country would certainly become suspicious. They would wonder, ’Why did the Eastern Country suddenly change its stance? Is there some kind of conspiracy?’ Then they would investigate and probe deeper.

But! If, while the Ugly Country was vigorously pushing the ”unowned space” proposal, the Eastern Country acted like a wronged victim—feigning fierce opposition, crying and protesting at the United Nations, and arguing based on principles—the whole world would think the Eastern Country had been pushed to the brink and was just trying to uphold fairness and justice.

Then, after an ”arduous” struggle, the Eastern Country would finally be ”forced” to accept defeat, watching with regret as the Ugly Country’s proposal passed. If that happened, what would the Ugly Country think? They would become complacent! They would think this was yet another victory for their hegemony!

And once the proposal passed, establishing the rule of ”whoever occupies it first has the right to it,” then... in this way, the Eastern Country’s ten thousand-plus satellites already in space would become legitimate! They would even be protected by international law!

You have to realize, Li Jiajun launched over ten thousand this time, a number that far exceeds what was declared to the International Telecommunication Union. Under the original rules, launching an excess would be grounds for condemnation. But if we followed the Ugly Country’s new rules... then whoever launches it first owns it!

This was simply... this was using their own momentum against them! It was using the Ugly Country’s own blade to cut them down!

Having figured this out, Zhou Weiguo felt a chill shoot from the soles of his feet straight to the top of his head, and every pore on his body opened up. Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!

This open conspiracy was even more devastating than the ten thousand satellites themselves!

When the time came and the Ugly Country discovered the truth—that the proposal they had racked their brains to pass was actually just paving the way for the Eastern Country—who knows if they’d be so angry they’d suffer a cerebral hemorrhage on the spot?

”Wonderful! Absolutely wonderful!” Zhou Weiguo slapped his thigh in excitement, his face a kaleidoscope of expressions—a mischievous grin he was trying hard to suppress. ”This is basically pinning the Ugly Country to the ground and rubbing them into the dirt!”

”We still need to get in touch with Minister Wang quickly!” Zhou Weiguo said urgently. ”We have to make sure he acts the part convincingly! He needs to convey that sense of indignation, that helplessness, that ’I will go even if all the world is against me’ spirit!” ”Don’t let the cat out of the bag!”

Watching Zhou Weiguo, who looked like he wanted to go and write the script for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs himself, Comrade Xiao Zhang smiled slightly and said, ”Don’t worry, General Manager. Our people have already contacted Minister Wang.”

”Haha, good.” Zhou Weiguo laughed. ”By the way, Comrade Xiao Zhang, tell me more about this Toy Hero from Baishui City. I love hearing about it; I want to hear more.”

”The Toy Hero?”

”Doesn’t Musk have the title of ’Silicon Valley Iron Man’? So our Factory Director Li is the ’Baishui City Toy Hero’?” Damn, he’d previously been thinking about how the Ugly Country had produced a ’Silicon Valley Iron Man’ in Musk, which was why they were so passive. Now, they had a hero of their own—the Toy Hero.

”I think it would be better to call him the ’People’s Hero’—coming from the masses and serving the masses, right?” an Old Expert chimed in.
