Incredible Insight: Toy Factory Discovers Swarm Drones

Chapter 163 No way, you’re actually carrying missiles?!A deathly silence fell over the hangar.

Liu Jianguo opened his mouth to say something, but found himself unable to utter a single word.

Looking at Li Jiajun’s self-righteous yet aggrieved victim act, he felt that all his years of composure and self-restraint had been thrown to the dogs in this moment.

He was so exasperated that he started laughing.

It wasn’t a laugh of extreme fury; he was simply amused by the kid’s bizarre train of thought.

”Heh... hehe...”

”Good... quite the law-abiding citizen.”

Liu Jianguo’s voice became somewhat distorted. ”Then explain to me, what’s the deal with these dozen or so air-to-ground missile models?”

”Don’t you dare tell me this is for safety too!”

Upon hearing the interrogation, the aggrieved and indignant expression on Li Jiajun’s face was instantly replaced by a pure, heartfelt bewilderment.

”Air-to-ground missile models?”

He blinked and followed Liu Jianguo’s finger, his face written with the innocence of someone who had no idea what was being said.

”Uncle Liu, what are you talking about? How are these missiles? These are cargo pods I designed for the drone to store express packages.”

He spoke with such sincerity and conviction that all the Experts present were stunned.

One had to realize that Li Jiajun wasn’t lying. He was a complete military ignoramus and knew nothing about military equipment.

Seeing the disbelief on everyone’s faces, he thought they didn’t understand his design philosophy. He quickly took a step forward and began his amateurish yet ”professional” military explanation:

”Think about it. This plane flies so fast. If we used a big belly to hold cargo like a normal delivery plane, wouldn’t that be inconvenient? You’d have to open the hatch to retrieve the goods—what a hassle.”

”So I thought, why not just design the cargo pods as independent external attachments? One pod per item. When it reaches the destination, just drop the pod. How efficient is that?”

”As for the shape...” Li Jiajun scratched his head, looking a bit embarrassed. ”I don’t know the first thing about industrial design, so I just randomly looked up pictures of streamlined external attachments online for reference. I didn’t expect the search results to be air-to-ground missile models. This... this is a pure coincidence, an artistic coincidence.”

This explanation of his was practically seamless.

Provided that the listener was also a military ignoramus.

Unfortunately, everyone present except for him and Wang Dachui was a top-tier military Expert.

After hearing this, Liu Jianguo didn’t want to laugh anymore. He was speechless and just wanted to give this kid a brain CT scan to see if the part of his brain responsible for military common sense had failed to develop from birth.

’Coincidence?’

’Could a coincidence be so precise that it replicates the missile’s fins, aerodynamic control surfaces, and even the reserved structure for the fuse position 1:1?’

’Do you think the Experts are blind?!’

Seeing the atmosphere become even more bizarre because of the boss’s explanation, Wang Dachui, who had been standing by and worrying for his boss, felt his heart skip a beat.

At this point, Wang Dachui also sensed that something was wrong; after all, their factory director had just mentioned something about being executed by firing squad.

He looked at Liu Jianguo’s increasingly dark face and then at the Experts’ ”keep making things up” expressions. He felt that his boss’s explanation this time was too weak and unconvincing.

He felt it was necessary to clear his boss’s name himself.

The thought of loyally protecting his master once again overrode everything else.

Wang Dachui took a deep breath, stepped forward, and broke the deadlock with his booming voice:

”Leaders! Everything our boss said is true! These really are cargo pods! Moreover, it’s a revolutionary design!”

As he spoke, he walked quickly to the drone, pointed at the missile models, and began his explanation of the application scenarios—which could be described as the ultimate backstab.

”Our boss’s design philosophy is precise delivery and on-call service! Think about it, if a large package contains several small items to be delivered to different customers in the same neighborhood, what do you do?”

”Our cargo pod can autonomously launch when it flies over the neighborhood and then split into several small delivery units in mid-air. Each unit has its own power and navigation, allowing it to automatically find the target household and achieve separate delivery!”

As soon as he finished speaking...

”Hiss...”

The Experts present all gasped in unison.

Engineer Qian and Old Zhao looked at each other, both seeing extreme horror in the other’s eyes.

Splitting?

Automatically seeking different targets?

What the hell is this if not a cluster bomb? This is standard MIRV technology!

An Old Expert who had been mostly silent murmured with trembling lips, ”My God... is this... applying strategic nuclear weapon technology to delivery services?”

Wang Dachui was dumbfounded.

’Why does it sound more and more criminal the more I talk?’ This thought surfaced in his mind.

Seeing the shocked expressions of the Experts, he thought his explanation wasn’t clear enough and had caused a misunderstanding. He hurriedly waved his hands to try and fix it.

”Hey, hey, leaders, don’t misunderstand! Ours is nothing like a missile!”

”Ours focuses on humanized service!”

He cleared his throat, his face showing the pride typical of a salesman introducing a flagship product.

”We call it—the Hover-and-Sign System!”

”Think about it. Some customers are very difficult and insist on signing in person, but when you call them, they say they’re in a meeting or taking a shower and ask you to wait a bit. What then? Our delivery unit won’t just drop down after flying outside the customer’s window.”

”It will activate this hovering system and just hang there quietly outside the customer’s window or on their roof. When the customer is ready, they just tap ’confirm’ on the mobile app, and it will slowly descend. What do you call that? That’s called Hover-and-Sign! The ultimate user experience!”

Hearing this, the Experts were no longer just shocked; they felt a deep sense of dread.

A missile that can split, auto-seek, and hover?

’This is the fucking Sword of Damocles!’

The same thought surfaced in the minds of all the Experts. This thing didn’t even need to explode; just hovering over the enemy’s head, appearing and disappearing, would be enough to completely crush their psychological defenses and scare them to death!

Wang Dachui was completely unaware of the mental impact his words had caused, and he got more excited as he spoke.

”Of course, our boss also considered another issue. What if someone with poor manners sees something hovering in the sky and tries to hit it with a slingshot? To avoid this, our delivery unit is also equipped with a light-radar integrated stealth coating! That means it has radar stealth and optical stealth.”

He pointed to the smooth shell of the missile model. ”This uses the same technology from the car wrap on that kid’s toy car! Once an aggressive intent is detected, it will immediately activate its stealth, making it impossible to find on radar or by sight! When it’s safe, it will reappear and continue waiting for the customer to sign!”

Boom!

Wang Dachui’s words were like the final straw that completely crushed the mental defenses of all the Experts present.

At this moment, their eyes were staring wide and blank.

Li Jiajun knew nothing about military technology. Hearing Wang Dachui’s seemingly perfect explanation, he felt that all the loopholes had been plugged, and a gratified expression appeared on his face.

Liu Jianguo stood there, watching Li Jiajun’s ”my manager is so awesome” expression, his mouth twitching wildly.

’Dammit, why are you looking gratified?!’

He was speechless. At this moment, he finally saw it—this kid Li Jiajun really was a pure military ignoramus.

But such a military ignoramus could repeatedly create things that overturned the entire military-industrial complex.

This gave him an indescribable sense of absurdity.

In the midst of this silence...

The Air Force Chief Engineer slowly turned around.

He looked at Li Jiajun with a smile that looked more painful than crying.

”Engineer Li... I was wrong.”

The Old Expert’s voice was hoarse, filled with self-deprecating regret.

Li Jiajun looked at him in surprise, feeling a surge of joy: ’Did Wang Dachui’s explanation convince him?’

He was about to say a few humble words when he heard the seemingly gentle Old Expert roar at him and everyone present in a cracking voice:

”I said before that this platform of yours only needed a little modification to be a perfect, cost-effective unmanned bomber! I was wrong! I was dead wrong!”

”This thing doesn’t need any modification at all! It is already a strategic-grade unmanned bomber that integrates MIRV strikes, theater hovering deterrence, and terminal stealth penetration—something we wouldn’t even dare to dream of, leading the world by an entire era!”

After roaring, he suddenly turned around, pointed at the menacing twin-tailed scorpion, and shouted at the group of equally stunned Experts behind him with all his might:

”Look closely! See what a fucking strategic-grade unmanned bomber looks like! This is what a fucking strategic-grade unmanned bomber is!”

Li Jiajun stood there dazed, the gratification on his face completely frozen.

Nani????
