Incredible Insight: Toy Factory Discovers Swarm Drones

Chapter 98 Hardcore Punk Grandpa and Top-of-the-Line XuanwuAfter giving his new product the resounding and reassuring name of ”black tortoise”, Li Jiajun completely entered a state of self-forgetful research and development.

With the experience from modifying the production line previously, plus the funds in his account that were abundant enough to make him feel a little panicked, the entire project progressed exceptionally smoothly.

In the factory, the assembly line that once produced Swarm Drones was restarted after being modified.

This time, it was no longer producing precision aircraft, but instead began processing thick, composite armor plates with special textures.

Under the program control personally written by Li Jiajun, the robotic arms precisely welded the dark green armor plates together, gradually outlining a square, powerful-looking vehicle body profile.

On the other side, in the tire workshop, Wang Defa led a group of Master Craftsman, carefully manufacturing the brand-new Van der Waals force adsorption all-terrain tires according to the blueprints provided by Li Jiajun that left them completely baffled.

No one could understand why the tires of an elderly joy needed such complex microstructures and unheard-of materials.

But with the experience from the previous few times, all the workers chose to shut up and then unconditionally executed every instruction from the factory manager.

They now only had one belief: whatever the factory manager asked them to do, they would do it. Anyway, as long as they worked with the factory manager, the bonuses would not be lacking!

A week later.

Under the expectant gaze of all the workers in the factory, the first black tortoise smart elderly joy slowly rolled off the production line.

When it was fully revealed before everyone, the entire workshop fell into a strange silence.

Everyone stared blankly at the monster in front of them, their brains collectively falling into a state of crash.

Where was this any kind of elderly joy?

This was clearly an infantry armored vehicle scaled down several times, driven right out of a science fiction movie!

Its entire body was matte dark green, the body was pieced together from hexagonal armor plates, full of a heavy texture like a turtle shell. The vehicle body was square, the lines were hard, and even the windows appeared exceptionally small, as if they were reserved shooting ports. The four wheels were huge and wide, and the exaggerated tire treads were full of wild grip.

The whole vehicle, from head to toe, exuded a fierce aura of ”keep away”.

”Factory... Factory Manager...” Wang Dachui stood beside Li Jiajun, swallowing hard, his voice trembling a little, ”Is... is this what you called... an elderly joy?”

Li Jiajun, however, was very satisfied with everyone’s reaction.

He patted the thick armor of the black tortoise, making a thudding sound. With a proud smile on his face, he introduced it to the dumbfounded workers in a salesman-like tone:

”That’s right! This is the sincere work presented by our Li Family Toy Factory to the elderly across the country—an adult toy, the black tortoise!”

”Look!” He pointed at the composite armor that was over five centimeters thick, ”Absolutely safe! Never mind wind and rain, even if you drive it into a wall, the person will be fine, and the wall might be gone!”

He pointed to the huge tires again: ”Van der Waals force adsorption technology! Stable! The main selling point is that it is as stable as an old dog! Never mind slippery roads, even if you drive it to climb slopes and hills, it won’t slip!”

”And this!” He opened the car door and pointed at the dashboard inside, which looked more complex than an airplane cockpit, ”High-density charging module! One charge, and you can drive from our Baishui City to the Imperial Capital and back in one go! Completely solving the range anxiety of the elderly!”

This introduction made the workers’ expressions shift from dullness to a complex look mixed with worship and fear.

That afternoon, Li Jiajun started the stream again, with a very gimmicky title—Redefining Safety! Global Launch of the black tortoise Smart Scooter!

In the livestream, the tens of thousands of Netizen who had been waiting for a long time saw the true appearance of the black tortoise, and the bullet comments exploded instantly.

”Holy crap! What am I seeing? This is an elderly joy? You call this thing an elderly joy?”

”This f*cking thing is Godzilla’s turtle shell come to life, right! This design is too hardcore!”

”Five-centimeter thick composite armor? Streamer, are you sure this is for an old man to get around, and not to send him to the Normandy landings?”

”These tires... this chassis... why do I feel like it can drive directly over my house?”

”Uncle Liu, quick! Someone come quickly! Where is Uncle Liu’s heart-saving pill! I feel like if he sees this stream, he’s going to pass away!”

Facing the screen full of complaints, Li Jiajun looked dismissive; he felt that this group of Netizen completely did not understand what true security meant.

He cleared his throat and said to the camera in an incomparably sincere tone: ”family, I know this car might look... a little sturdy. But all this is for safety! I, Li Jiajun, will put my words here today: this car is absolutely the safest, most stable, and most impossible-to-accident pure civilian product I have ever built in my life!”

...

Just as Li Jiajun’s stream was halfway through, a deafening roar of a Harley motorcycle engine came from outside the factory door.

Several workers who were smoking at the door curiously poked their heads out.

They saw a Harley heavy motorcycle with an exaggerated design, followed by several small motorcycles, pull a beautiful drift and stop steadily at the factory gate.

An elder jumped off the bike, making all of them twitch the corners of their mouths.

This elder looked to be at least over sixty years old, but his outfit was even more hardcore than the trendiest young people in the factory.

He was wearing a black leather jacket full of rivets, jeans with several large holes in the lower body, and a pair of heavy Martin boots on his feet. The most exaggerated part was his face, which was wearing heavy smoky makeup, his hair was dyed silver-gray, and tied into a spiky ponytail.

The few lackeys behind him were also young people with a similar style.

This group of people was completely out of place with this simple toy factory.

The Punk Elder took off his sunglasses, revealing a pair of sharp eyes. He ignored the dumbfounded workers at the door and walked straight to Li Jiajun, who was streaming, looked him up and down, and then pointed at the black tortoise next to him and asked:

”You are the boss? You built this car?”

Li Jiajun was also stunned by this sudden uninvited guest, and the Netizen in the livestream exploded instantly.

”Holy crap! What’s the background of this elder? With this aura, I’d believe it if you said he was here to collect protection money!”

”Amazing! A hardcore old man with a hardcore elderly joy! This is truly a match made in heaven!”

Li Jiajun paused, but still politely nodded: ”Yes, elder, this is the latest black tortoise launched by our factory, focusing on safety and comfort, would you like to...”

Before his sales pitch was finished, he was impatiently interrupted by the Punk Elder.

”Stop the nonsense!” The elder walked to the black tortoise, tapped the thick armor with his hand, a gleam of satisfaction appearing in his eyes, ”I want this! I want the one with the best performance! The thickest armor! The one that runs the farthest! Do you have it?”

Li Jiajun’s heart moved; he felt he had met a kindred spirit. He didn’t expect that there really was an elderly person who could understand his design philosophy of extreme safety.

He asked curiously: ”Elder, our car is mainly for getting around, the basic version is safe enough, why do you need the top-spec version?”

The Punk Elder glanced at him, took out a crumpled fishing rod from his leather jacket, shook it, and said in a matter-of-fact tone:

”Nonsense! I’m going wild fishing! The kind that involves crossing mountains and ridges!”

He paused, then added another sentence, his eyes full of yearning for the unknown journey:

”Is this car of yours tough enough?”

’Wild fishing? Crossing mountains and ridges?’

A thought like this emerged in Li Jiajun’s mind, and he instantly realized.

That’s right! The elderly also have their own hardcore hobbies! His car perfectly fit this niche but real market demand!

He felt he had found the true value of this car and was so excited that his face turned a little red. He patted his chest and assured the elder:

”It’s tough! It’s plenty tough! Elder, you really found the right car! Let me tell you, this car, never mind crossing mountains and ridges, even if you drive it up a wall, it won’t fall off!”

”Good! I’ll take this one!”

The elder was very satisfied and waved his hand boldly. A lackey behind him immediately walked up carrying a black briefcase, opened it, and inside were neatly stacked piles of cash, and then he pulled out a few stacks to pay.

The deal was happily concluded just like that.

Under the gaze of Li Jiajun and tens of thousands of Netizen in the livestream, the Punk Elder drove his top-spec black tortoise, which looked sturdier than a tank, and surrounded by a group of lackeys, roared off, leaving behind a trail of dust and the complex gazes of everyone.
