The hivemind is conquering for me?

’C-Chipmunk? The nerve! Once I learn what that is, I will let this man have it! Teacher or no!’ However, for now, she bit her tongue and attempted to wipe the slate clean from her previous whoopsie.

”Hi everyone. It’s great to be here! I am Mithra Chiron. I turned eighteen last week. Thanks to special circumstances, I have been at the college for the last four years, but this is my first year of classes. So if you need any help with getting around or how the day to day of the college functions, you feel free to ask me ok? Also If you have spotted a man walking round in an armoured spacesuit the past few days, that’s my daddy. He is the current head researcher of Psionic toxicology and I am looking to become his apprentice. It is my thinking that learning this sub science could help me in developing my own poisons while also better understanding the human body and perhaps learn to heal from my mithridatism sessions much quicker.”

The Chipmunk, Mithra, the classic blonde hair, blue eyed beauty, then looked around with a pleasant smile on her face at her introduction. ’Nailed it.’

I suddenly gulped at that piece of knowledge after my previous thoughts on my morning flashing. ’If she was here as a child... There could be more. I need to remember to wear clothes outside from now on.’

”Well, nice to meet you Mithra, whose next?” I said and immediately looked towards the couple holding hands. Understanding that it was their turn, the woman spoke seemingly for them.

”Hi. Im Yvonne and this is Pericles. We are twenty eight and twenty six respectively and are in our fourth year at the College. We saw the news of this study and we just had to join. Both of our Psionic capabilities are body enhancement. Pericles can elasticate his body to a certain degree.”

The stoic man wrapped his wrist around his forearm three times to emphasise this point. ”And I can bulk up my muscles to a great degree, giving me an explosive increase in power.”

The woman gave no cares about public decency and began stripping. A couple of the men present and Mithra looked away embarrassed, but I held her gaze, curious as to what she was going to do.

Her 6ft2 lean body suddenly expanded and her muscles swelled just as I had envisioned. I was immediately entranced. ”Oh, that is interesting.” I muttered and walked forward inspecting the woman all over.

”This state amplifies the rest of my emotions, so don’t look lewdly teach, or I might smack out without meaning to.” Yvonne said, her voice having not changed in the slightest. I took her cue, as she realised I was not ogling her, but she was a little conscious and gave the warning for me to back off and I did just that.

She then shrank back down to her normal size and causally began putting on her clothes with Pericles’ help. ”When we saw your dispensation in the first year news, we immediately became interested. If our imagination on the subject and what information was given to us after inquiring with our teachers about the subject. We think we could have a breakthrough in strength by enhancing our bodies and that... Well, that would be splendid.”

Pericles nodded his head in agreement and spoke for the first time. ”Is this possible?”

I nodded my head. ”Yes it is. I was going to give you a demonstration of what Genetic enhancement and gene biology can do later on after I set up the lab, but to make Yvonne feel a bit more comfortable with what just happened, I will demonstrate.

Taking off my pants, I kicked them to the side before I began flexing. Those present watched as my legs thickened and thickened, bulging beyond what even Yvonne considered safe. ”This isn’t Psionics. This is just one of the benefits of genetic augmentation. My leg power is a serious danger on the battlefield. This is just changing your already enhanced genome and making it better. Releasing the biological locks and allowing your body to grow past its current limits.

I then gazed at Yvonne who was eyeing my legs with hunger. ”Imagine if you could bulk yourself up without your Psionics, and then add your Psionics on top? The raw strength you would possess? That is what my field of expertise is about. Breaking the limits set by our bodies. I create new limits, break them, then create newer limits.”

I seemed to snag in the majority of the sl- free labour force that volunteered, but two of them. ”This is outlandish! This isn’t right.” One said. ”Right! Humans are already perfect! Sure a little metal implent here and there is fine? But this? This is, or I guess was illegal for a reason. You are sick playing with nature like this! You deserve a traitor’s death!” the second followed

I looked at the two and shrugged my shoulders. ”Okay? Doors right there guys?” The two looked between one another and turned to leave. Another who didn’t say anything then walked out after them. I wasn’t fussed at all. It wasn’t everyone’s thing. After they were out of the room, I went to turn to another volunteer when I suddenly heard shouting. ”Sorry I’m late! Sorry I’m late! Sorry I- oh! Hello.” The woman suddenly turned cold realising we were all standing around in silence.

I immediately smiled. ”Hailey? What are you doing here?” I could see the excitement rush across Hailey’s face for a moment before her cold gimmick took over when around people. ”I might be a teacher Apollo, but I can still learn things. I want to learn more about what you do. I am very talented after all. Who knows? I might be teaching you by the end of the year?”

”HA!” I bellowed out louder than I meant to and looked at her softly. ”Well that would be quite the surprise, but I welcome the challenge. Ok Hailey, you are welcome to participate, but as per our friendship, you won’t be getting advantages or special treatment just because of your heritage. Now, we were just introducing each other.” I then pointed at the three who had already introduced themselves. ”Thats Mithra, thats Yvonne and thats Pericles. Your turn.”

Everyone was looking at Hailey wide eyed, except for the chipmunk oddly enough, and they had the right to do so. Hailey’s face had been plastered over the news for the past week. On top of the fact that she was now a member of the faculty, who was keeping what classes she was going to be teaching a secret, most of the College knew what she looked like and who her father was.

Hailey looked at me, then towards the other five present, then back to me again before sighing. ”Very well. Hello. My name is Hailey Athena. Tribune of the Spartari armed forces and teacher at the College, starting in the upcoming term. Nice to meet you all.”

Her face and tone did not reciprocate the wording of her greeting. I then eyed her to keep going. She seemed reluctant to do so, but she then did after I gave her the pleading eyes.

”*Sigh* I am a princess daughter of the civil King Dickon. But I have hung up the title. Remember, when here, we are all equal, please do not treat me any different than you would each other. Thank you.”

”Much better Hailey, you are starting to sound like you want to be here. Now, do you have a particular reason as to why you would want to study my line of work?” I quipped before feeling the raw emotion leaking from Hailey’s eyes as they bore directly into mine, it caught me completely off guard.

” I have seen first hand just what gene enhancement can do. I have seen what it can cure. I have the individuals who have practised it and have conducted my own research into it myself. I see a future where this work, that is illegal everywhere but in this room, can change the fate of this galaxy. I want to be here because I trust the teacher teaching it to us as he is my friend. A true friend, whose character is greater than he realises. We are all lucky that he is willing to impart this science upon us. That is why I am here.”

I felt goosebumps run across my body. My throat dried up and I was holding back tears ever so slightly. Hailey’s words just struck a chord within me. I knew she cared for me, she got me this dispensation after all, but to hear my friend say all that lovely stuff about me... I received critical damage right in the feels.

”Ahem! Well, thank you for the lovely words Hailey... You made it hard for the next person to go ahead, as I doubt they can top such heartfelt words between friends, but I suppose they can try.”

I then turned to the last two that had not introduced themselves yet. I had spoken with one the other day, so I pointed to the guy.

”You’re up.”
