Chapter 877: Evelyn’s Captive

”What stupid? How dare you- ugh just come to this place quickly, there is a madman who is stealing from the temple.”

Green pickle cut the connection, not giving him time to respond further.

The man sighed deeply, he really didn’t want to go but that green turd is too annoying and persistent.

If the man didn’t go, that green turd would file a complaint against him and his record would suffer.

”SIGH I will arrest him for false report, if it’s against something shitty.” He stood up slowly and gave the details to another person nearby, before walking towards the exit.

”What is it?” Evelyn asked suddenly, her cold emotionless voice sounding pleasant to the ear but induced fear and dread in them nonetheless.

”T- This...” the man raised a small jade like tablet hesitantly, handing it over to her with shaking hands.

This tablet was used to record all the details of the case from the time of the call to the end of the case, a complete record.

It even recorded the video of how the law holder solved the problem, everything documented for review.

The laws had become extremely strict under Fader and Evelyn, which is why many people wanted to replaced them with more lenient leaders.

Evelyn took the slip and instantly scanned it with her divine senses, quickly going over all the details methodically and instantly her eyes shone with interest and recognition.

’He is here!’ A brilliant smile almost appeared on her face, breaking through her usual stoic expression, but she maintained her solemn look with effort.

”I will go personally look this over, or those heretics will cause problems again.” She said calmly and before the man could say anything in response, she turned and walked out with purpose.

”Uh...” the officer was left there speechless, completely stunned by her sudden departure, but then felt happy at being relieved of the task.

Good riddance, he really didn’t want to deal with all that stress and so he returned to his seat happily and gratefully.

Just as Evelyn was about to teleport near the temple using her power, she frowned suddenly and asked with sharp awareness: ”How long are you planning to follow me around?”

”Ah You found me? Since when? As expected, my strength is still lacking compared to you.” A thin veil seemed to disappear from the air as a man with a pleased smile stepped forward confidently, a paper fan in his hand.

Armin looked happily at his fiancée with obvious affection, ever since winning that bet against Len, he had been in a great mood and high spirits.

His father had started to trust him more and started to shift responsibilities of the family to him gradually, giving him more authority.

Soon, he can take over his father’s seat completely and be the ruler of the underworld, receiving a high status and power.

As for Evelyn, his marriage to her was all but guaranteed in his mind, assured by the family agreement.

Surely, she will accept him eventually and if she didn’t, he will make her accept him through various means.

In the future, the Vespera and Garissa family will both be his, the law and underworld belonging to him alone.

”What are you here for?” Evelyn asked in her usual manner, her tone and expression as cold as always, unmoved by his presence.

”Haha I am just here to spend time with my fiancée, what’s wrong with that? Where are you going?” Armin asked casually, he had gotten used to her attitude by now, expecting nothing more.

”Just a case.” She said simply then turned and left without further explanation.

”!!!” Armin stood there in surprise, stunned into silence for a moment, he expected that she would frown and ask him to leave immediately. But not only she replied to him, she didn’t even say anything disrespectful, not asking him to leave or forbidding him from following.

Is she already accepting him as her future husband?

Stars shone in his eyes with hope and elation, so she indirectly gave him permission to follow her without objection?

His mood brightened even more as he followed Evelyn eagerly and disappeared from sight.

...

Inside the temple, Vritra’s gaze swept over the people around him carefully but none dared to come closer to him, maintaining distance.

So he turned and started walking away slowly, Shitless flowing close by his side, still maintaining that serene expression.

Outside, green pickle grinned widely with satisfaction, waiting for the law holders to arrive and apprehend Vritra.

”S- Stop, I am calling the law holders!” one guy warned as they all followed behind Vritra, not ready to let him leave.

But just then, a light flashed suddenly and brightly, and then two figures appeared one after another in quick succession.

All people turned to look at the arrivals and were all shocked by who they saw, from green pickle to Vritra and all others present were equally surprised.

Who wouldn’t know Evelyn here? She was famous throughout the realm.

”Hmm?” Armin glanced at everyone present around him slowly, his gaze pausing on Vritra for a moment, studying him carefully.

He felt he had seen Vritra somewhere before, his features seeming familiar, but then again, so what? Maybe he really had, its nothing big enough to worry about now.

Instead, all he focussed on was Evelyn and her presence.

”Who filed the complaint?” Evelyn asked, glancing at everyone present with her piercing gaze.

Although she looked calm and indifferent on the surface, but her heart almost leapt out of her chest at the sight of Vritra standing there alive.

He is finally here! Her man is here in front of her!!

This was exactly why she didn’t stop Armin from following her, his luck has just run out completely and wouldn’t it be great when he sees Vritra and her together?

Just the thought was exhilarating, his expressions would be priceless when he finds about her true relation with Vritra.

The higher beings in the white attires all looked at one another nervously, wondering who has such high connections that they directly called Evelyn herself to handle this matter.

Just then, the grass rustled beneath their feet and green pickle tremblingly walked out from his hiding spot, stepping into view.

He was so happy he could barely contain himself! His plan had worked perfectly!

The last time, it was Evelyn who had punished him for interfering, she seems to not like this guy much based on her expression back then.

Probably because she feels he had abandoned her in that dangerous realm during the war and ran on his own, saving himself.

So this time too, he will get punished severely for his crimes.

’Evelyn... she is finally here.’ Vritra looked at the beautiful blonde woman, whose beauty was no lower than Teresa’s, perfectly poised and elegant.

”I- It was me! I filed the complaint that he was stealing something f- from the temple!” green pickle quickly spoke up eagerly, stepping forward.

”You came here for such a small matter... hmm- oh, it is that commander!” Armin was doubtful at first then a look of realisation appeared on his face suddenly.

”Should I just eliminate him?” Armin asked confidently, glaring towards Vritra with hostility.
