What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

Chapter 971: Can I Get A House Special?

I walked through the club, feeling the beat of the music around me pumping through the hidden speakers.

Crowds of people were gathered around the club, most of them bobbing their heads in tune with the music while others were crowded around different sections of the club and having their drinks.

I could kind of guess where Valiea might be since most of the crowd was gathered at a specific part of the club and was just about to head there when one of the staff intercepted me.

It was a girl who had cybernetic arms and a cybernetic lower jaw that looked like it had been plated to look like actual skin though I could still see the lines where the machine fused with flesh.

She bowed her head slightly in greeting, ”Miss Tera? Please follow me to the VIP section set aside for you.”

I saw no reason to deny her so I just followed along, the staff member leading me in the direction where the large crowd was gathered, which kind of confirmed my thoughts where she was.

The crowd parted for me thanks to the staff leading the way, almost like they were afraid of her even though she was actually quite petite and small in size.

We reached a platform that reminded me of that same design Valiea had used to put her bar counter where she would do her flairs and mix her drinks.

A guy, whom I suspected was quite drunk, tried to reach out towards me while shouting above the din of the music.

”Hey!! Waaaaahts da’ big idea?! Why the... Hic... Fuck you tryna’ cut da’ queue?”

The staff that was leading me suddenly turned back, her body blurring for a moment as she grabbed the drunk guy’s hand before it could touch me.

It almost looked like she teleported for a moment there until I noted that her spine seemed to be glowing before the light dimmed.

”Dear guest, please do not touch our VIP. This is your only warning.”

The drunk guy sobered up rather quickly as he muttered out an apology before pulling his hand back, the girl letting him retreat away from me before continuing to lead me up to the platform.

A giant bar counter was there at the top of the platform and unlike the last time I saw them... It seems like there was no crowd gathered around this bar counter that was undoubtedly supposed to be the centrepiece of the club.

Instead, there were several camera drones floating around where it showed two bartenders tossing bottles around and doing tricks while mixing the drink, their actions being projected on multiple screens all around the club.

The duo being a certain four armed bartender and her husband of course.

The staff stopped at the edge of the platform and allowed me to walk the rest of the way to the counter where a single seat was placed at the very centre, as if it had been reserved for only one person.

Of course, the meaning of it was not lost on me and I actually felt a little embarrassed that they would go that far.

I don’t even think I did that much for them to begin with... In fact, it felt like I kind of implicated them a little in my troubles since I did kind of cause them to need to escape from their home after all...

Then again, I guess I did kind of save their lives since they were also being targeted even without my involvement anyway so... I guess I’m flattered they actually think that highly of me.

I slowly went over to the bar stool and slid into it, noticing several of the club goers point in my direction and mutter amongst themselves, their conversations hidden by the music being played in the club.

Valiea finishes her mix and placed it on the counter where it sunk into the counter to be delivered to the customer, prompting her to slide over in front of me and give me a huge grin.

”Ah, our only VIP of the club. It has been a long while hasn’t it, Tera? Welcome to the new Mestile Rave Club~”

She spread open her four arms to gesture towards the rest of the club with a proud look on her face.

”Mestile, eh? Using your own name?” I noted, shooting her a smile as well.

She shrugged and nodded in the direction of Ragbar who was still in the midst of mixing his drink, though he did give me a nod and a smile to acknowledge my presence.

”It was his idea. We didn’t really think we would have the attention we did back when we first started so this time we went all in on capitalising our name.”

”Not afraid that you might get hunted down or something?”

She leaned on the counter, ”Well... If it happens, it happens. Besides... The galaxy is a pretty big place anyway. If we have to hide again, then that’s what we’ll do. But for now, we’ll take advantage of all the fame we can get~”

”Well... As long as you know what you’re doing I guess?”

She waved at me, ”Don’t worry about it. Besides, it’s been a long time, hasn’t it? Instead of talking about all that... What would you like to drink? We actually realised that you never managed to take advantage of your VIP status ever since you got it so we prepared this for you when you came to visit!”

”Huh... You didn’t even tell me you had started up another club though,” I pointed out.

She grinned, ”To be honest, we actually had a whole event planned where we invite you as a guest bartender after this place gets a little bit more popular. I didn’t think you would actually find your way here on your own.”

I raised my eyebrow, ”You do realise I’m a Merc, right? You want me to moonlight as a bartender?”

”Why not? I’m sure your girls would love it.”

She then looked behind me, scanning the crowd before frowning when she realised my girls were nowhere to be found.

She then gasped and looked back at me, ”Oh my gosh... Tera... I am so sorry...”

Did she think they left me or they died?

I rolled my eyes, ”Whatever you’re thinking, it’s not it, ok? They went to do their own things in the station. We were supposed to meet up here once we resupplied our ship and everything. I just finished what I wanted to do earlier so I got here ahead of time so they’ll be coming here later too. Ironically, they found this place through the station’s GalaNet that recommended this place as a good hangout spot.”

Her lips curled up into a grin, ”That’s the idea. And I just realised that your counter is embarrassingly empty. Come on, you’re at the bar with me as your personal bartender as our club’s only VIP! Order something already.”

I grinned at her, ”In that case, I’ll have your house special, whatever it might be.”

Her eyes seemed to shine as her grin widened, ”Oh, you have no idea what you just did, Tera. Well, not that we weren’t already intending to do this when we heard you were coming anyway~”

She straightened herself to turn to Ragbar, giving him a nod.

That seemed to be enough to tell him what was happening as he placed the drink he had just finished mixing on the counter to be delivered before he cleaned his hands to pull out his personal terminal.

The camera drones floated closer to them and Ragbar went over to the shelves where he flipped over a panel to press a hidden button behind it.

The platform was suddenly lit up and lights from all around the club shifted to focus their lights on the couple.

Everyone in the club also turned their attention to them as the music in the club dimmed and even the rowdy patrons quietened down to look in our direction.

Ragbar turned to one of the camera drones and grinned, his face showing up on the giant screen that was projected above the bar they were standing on.

”That’s right everyone!! Someone ordered our house special!!! Seems like all of you are being treated to a good show tonight!!”

The entire club went up in a thunderous cheer and I actually felt a little worried.

”What the heck is the house special?” I asked, giving Valiea a look.

She reached behind her and grabbed several bottles which she held in between her fingers before turning back to give me a grin.

”You’ll love it, Tera. You just need to sit there and watch.”

She then stepped back to create space between her and Ragbar who had also picked up a few bottles where he gripped them by the neck between his fingers.

That was when I realised... Was it a flair performance with the both of them working together to mix the drinks?

Ok, this would actually be pretty cool to watch, not gonna lie.

Guess I might as well enjoy the show~
