What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

The beat of the music thumped rhythmically through unseen speakers around us while the crowd jumped up and down in tune with the beat.

I had a drink in one hand while I watched the crowd in front of me, simply enjoying the sight and nodding along to the music.

I didn’t really feel like joining the crowd in the mosh pit but thankfully, the club also had private drinking booths so we went to occupy one of the empty ones to enjoy our drinks.

Valiea was even kind enough to let me mix our own drinks for ourselves so I poured us a few more beers before we went back down to the first floor of the club.

There were quite a few patrons who clearly recognised me for the one who challenged Valiea and cheered when they saw me.

A few tried to buy me drinks for even being able to get Valiea to declare a draw but some of the patrons clearly weren’t that impressed and shot me rather angry looks.

Either they didn’t believe that my drinks were as good as the others believed or they didn’t like me beating Valiea in the taste voting.

At least they were sensible enough not to approach us to find trouble since there was security all over the place and something tells me they wouldn’t take kindly to any disruptions.

I took another sip of my beer and Amber leaned herself against me, ”Ahhhnnn~ Teraaaa… Hic~ I love youuuu~”

”You can stop pretending, Amber, I know you’re not drunk.”

”Noooo~ I’m so druuuuunk~ Ehehehehe~ Drunk on my love for you that is~”

Yeah… Apparently Psionics also have really strong resistance against alcohol.

Not only just alcohol but their bodies basically automatically deal with poisonous substances by themselves and alcohol is treated as one.

That’s not to say it’s completely foolproof though as a strong enough poison can still overwhelm them or kill them before their powers can respond to it.

But for this case… I know that Amber’s just pretending to be drunk.

She hugged my arm and chugged on her beer before slamming the half empty mug on the table.

”Teraaaa~ Kisses~”

I turned to her and gave her a kiss on the lips, tasting my own beer and her beer mixing together on our lips.

She giggled as I pulled back, my lover rubbing her cheek on my arm affectionately.

While Amber was faking her drunkenness, there’s someone here who was actually drunk right now…

”Nyaaa… Bosssssss~ Ehehehe~ There’s two Boss~ So many Boss~ Nyaaaaa~”

Ries reached up and pawed at the space to my right, probably where she thought I was but it was most likely just a double image she was seeing instead.

I patted her head idly which made her purr cutely as she cuddled up on my lap, forgetting about the rest of her beer that she had left on the table.

And not only her…

”Mistress… Mmmm~” Lea mumbled, the Alv having decided that it would be more comfortable for her to climb underneath the table to hug my leg instead while her head laid on my lap.

She would have also spilled her own beer on herself had I not taken it out of her hands earlier.

So that left Amber, Mara and myself still sober-ish and enjoying the club’s atmosphere.

”You’re drinking a lot, Captain,” Mara pointed out as I took another sip from my beer. ”Are you feeling ok?”

I put the mug down, ”Yeah, I’m not even feeling tipsy at all. I believe that it’s most likely because of one of my perks or somethin that’s preventing me from getting drunk as well.”

”Hmm… I see… Although… No, nevermind…”

Hmm? Mara seemed like she wanted to say something before she stopped herself.

Before I could ask her what was wrong, a group of people suddenly showed up in front of our table.

The one leading the group seemed to be a relatively tall, dark skinned guy with his long, black hair tied up in a ponytail.

He crossed his arm in front of his chest before jerking his chin at me, ”You… The one… Miss Valiea?”

I blinked at him as his words were drowned out by the blaring music of the club.

”What?!” I shouted over the music.

”I said, are you the one who beat Miss Valiea?!” He shouted back.

I eyed him carefully, ”It was a draw so I didn’t actually beat her!”

”But you did get the majority vote in the taste poll, didn’t you?! That means you beat her in the taste of your mixes!”

”Hmm… I suppose so! What’s it to you?!”

”Who is your teacher?!”

I pointed at myself, ”I’m self taught!”

He froze up and the people behind him also widened their eyes at my answer like I just told them that I’m an alien or something.

Wait, I don’t think the people here would even react that way if you told them that since aliens are normal here.

He pointed at me, ”You… Taught… Not from…”

I frowned at him since he started muttering again, ”What?!”

”I said… Are you not from the Inner Colonies?!”

I shook my head.

The guy frowned slightly before he extended his hand towards me in the shape of a fist.

It took me a moment to realise he wanted a fist bump so I gave him one.

He bumped his fist against mine before letting out a roar of laughter, ”Hahaha! Outer Colony representation sister!! Hahahaha!!”

Errr… What?

The people behind him also started cheering and high fiving and chest bumping each other.

He gestured to the empty space on the seat beside Amber and my lover frowned slightly before looking at me.

I’m guessing he wants to take a seat and Amber was asking me if I was going to allow him to do that.

Well… At first I thought that he was Valiea’s simp here to cause trouble because his idol got ’beaten’ but it seems like he’s here for another reason.

I nodded and Amber slid closer to me to give him space, my lover practically fusing herself with me at this point.

The guy took a seat and grinned at me, our closer proximity allowing us to speak without shouting too much now.

”Name’s Ragbar! I’m Valiea’s husband! Nice to meet you!”

He stretched out his hand again and I shook it.

Wow, so she’s married? I honestly couldn’t tell.

”I’m a bartender too but obviously nowhere as good as my wife, but I can confidently say that I can flair better than her! Taught her everything she knows about that!”

I blinked before looking at his back to see if he had four arms.

He waved his hand at me, ”Ahahaha! No, no, I only have two! But here’s the thing, my wife can only keep up with me with four arms when I do my flairs!”

I find that hard to believe but I wasn’t going to call him out on it to his face… And who knows, maybe he was actually speaking the truth.

”So what do you want with me?” I asked.

He leaned on the table, ”I just wanted to see the person who almost defeated my wife in mixing. Did you know that she’s become so famous that some Inner Colony snobs also travel out here just to try and ’defeat’ her? We’ve been trying to say that those so called culinary institutions have been useless the entire time so it wouldn’t look good if an Inner Colony snob came along and got this close to winning.”

”Has anyone else won against her before?”

”Never. So far, us Outer Colonists have been the closest in the votes in both areas. You are the first to beat her in even one category. Those Inner Colonist idiots can’t even get close! Hahaha!”

Mara took a sip of her beer, ”I’m surprised they didn’t try to burn this place down after losing like that.”

”Ha! They did try! But this isn’t their territory! And you know… People go missing all the time in the lower rings! Hahaha!”

Right… This guy did not just subtly claim that they deal with people by taking them down to the lower rings of the station and killing them, did he?

And why did Amber perk up when he mentioned that?

”Although,” He continued. ”There were some that just can’t accept their loss by claiming it’s because she has four arms which gave her an unfair advantage. Sore losers, those idiots. But at least they only cry about it and do nothing afterwards. Hey, just between you and me… Four arms in the bedroom is really--”

He didn’t get to finish his words before someone reached forward and grabbed him by the ear to pull him back.

He let out a yelp and he turned to see Valiea standing there with a cold smile on her face, ”Husband… You’re not telling stupid stuff to others again, are you?”

”Ow, ow, ow!! I did not!!”

She let him go before nodding at us, ”You ready to go? Let’s go.”

Eh? We’re going somewhere? Err… Guess we’ll just carry Ries and Lea along then…
