What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

”I assume I do not need to teach you how to mix?” The four armed bartender asked me.

I looked at the bar counter in front of me where most of the bottles and equipment look completely alien to me.

It just occurred to me that they might be using bar equipment that I was completely unfamiliar with…

”Give me a moment to look at the equipment… I’m unfortunately not very familiar with your setup.”

I thought she might call me out for not knowing this and just tag me as a scam but surprisingly…

”Oh, it seems like you know your stuff huh? Yeah, the stuff here is arranged to be used with four hands. Give me a moment…”

That’s not really what I was thinking about but she took out her personal terminal with one of her hands and tapped on it quickly, prompting the bar counter to sink into the table before it was replaced by another setup.

Things were now arranged differently on my side of the counter but…

Yeah… I’m just going to say that it made no difference…

I could already kind of tell what might be the ice dispenser which works by putting a cup underneath a hole for the ice to drop into… Then there’s a tap there which I believe was the soda gun but I probably won’t be touching that since I don’t know how to use it since there’s some kind of console attached to it and it looks quite complicated…

Arranged in a line were several different different shaped and coloured bottles which I had no idea what kind of alcohol or liquid they contained.

I could try them out on the fly and then decide which ones to add based on their taste later I suppose.

Unfortunately, I don’t see any fruits which I suppose was expected but they did have some kind of weird, colourful looking squares which I suspect might be synthfruits or whatever they’re called to emulate fruit.

But for now… I suppose I would first start out with what I’m familiar with.

I turned back to her, ”Are we just freestyling our mixes?”

She crossed two of her arms in front of her chest while her other two arms rested on her hips, ”Why? Would you rather we do speed orders?”

I shook my head, ”No, I’m ok with that. Where’s the beer?”

She pointed at a row of taps at the side, ”Those are our house pours. You’re not actually planning on using them are you?”

”Can I give them a taste?”

She frowned, ”If this is your way of getting free drinks…”

I gestured out at the crowd, ”If I lose, I’m paying for all the drinks you’re going to serve aren’t I? The only way I’m getting free drinks here is if I win, right?”

She snorted and looked away, which I took as the sign that I could go ahead and taste the beers.

Snatching a glass from the well, I went over to the taps where there were six in total.

Let’s see… Six taps… Two mixes would be fifteen… Three mixes would be twenty… And I guess stopping with four would be another fifteen which means I have fifty different mixes to work with.

I think that’s a substantial enough number of variations for me to serve without things getting too boring.

I don’t think five mixes would work but if I have to, I guess I could give that a try as well for another six different variations of alcohol.

Using the glass, I poured a little bit of the beer out of the taps and tasted each one in sequence.

Hmm… This one’s a little sweet, this one’s bitter, this one has that berry taste to it… Then this one is spicy? Not the chilli type of spicy but the herbs and spices kind of spicy. Then the next one was sour and the last one had a more… Earthen taste? I guess that’s the best way to describe it.

Ok, I can work with this.

The only problem is that there would be no flaring on my side since I have no idea how to do it and I’m pretty sure that any attempts on my part would just result in broken glasses.

I turned back to her, ”I’m ready.”

She gave me an odd look but didn’t comment and simply looked out at the crowd that had gathered in front of us.

”All of you know the drill! Both of us will be making drinks for the next hour and anyone is free to take it on a first come first serve basis! Whoever taps on the buzzer provided will get to take the drink that has been dropped in the receptacle! No fighting, no snatching! At the end, there will be options for you to choose the winner. Is everyone clear?”

Cheers went up in the crowd.

Seeing that everyone was ready, the woman then nodded at one of the staff members and a drone flew over to hover in front of her, projecting a screen with a countdown timer starting from five.

She sucked in a breath when the counter reached three and breathed out right as it reached the number one.

The screen then changed to show the woman revealing the drone to be a camera and an even larger screen appeared at the wall across from us, suggesting that this was a live feed.

”Greetings dear patrons! Today is a special day as we have another challenger that is here to compete with me again so all of you are in for a treat!”

Cheers rang out and some of them came from the floor below, making me believe that this was being broadcasted throughout the entire club.

”And for our challenger today… Here she is!”

The camera quickly spun over to me and I saw myself on the screen so I just gave it a wave as a greeting.

A few boos came from the crowd, most likely simps for my competitor who wanted to try and put me down in support of her but I didn’t really care about the boos since I was already kind of expecting it.

The camera then shifted back to her again where she gave a quick explanation of the rules for the people who are seeing this for the first time.

Another timer then appeared over the drone and also on the screen, this one showing sixty minutes which would be our time limit for this challenge.

She turned to me, ”Challenger, are you ready?”

I nodded.

”In that case… The challenge begins!!”

She immediately started with her own mixing, her four arms exploding out in a flurry of activity as each hand reached out to grab a different thing.

I was distracted for a moment as I watched her throw two bottles into the air with her two right hands before catching them in midair with two cocktail shakers in her left hand, the opening of the bottles facing downwards and pouring straight into the shaker itself.

While those were still pouring, she went to grab two more bottles with her freed right hands and rolled them down her arms and onto her back before she jerked her left arms to toss the bottles in the mixers up into the air, allowing the new bottles to roll into them to start pouring while she caught the older two out of the air.

I had to tear my attention away from her to start on my own mix instead.

From tasting the beer earlier, I already had an idea of what the first mix might be since I was sure who my first ’customer’ was going to be anyway.

I snatched up one of the glasses and filled it with ice first before going over to the tap and pouring in some of the sweet beer before moving to the spicy beer to add just a little bit of it. I then went ahead to finish it off with the berry tasting one before grabbing a stirrer to mix them together.

With that done, I did a taste test of it by pouring out a little from the glass into a shot glass before tossing my head back to pour it into my mouth.

Hmm… Yep, I think this is good.

I then looked around the counter and found one part of the counter that had a line of square lights on its surface. I assume that’s where I was supposed to put the glass to ’deliver’ the drink so that’s what I did.

Seems like I was right because after I placed the drink on the square, it sunk into the table which I assumed would bring it a receptacle below for someone to take.

Looking at the side, my competitor was now juggling three bottles at once with two hands while her other two hands were working on arranging several glasses in a row.

I don’t think she’s completed her first mix yet but I can see that she was planning on mixing several glasses at the same time so she might be slower right now but could easily catch up to me in a while.

Right then, a ding came from the crowd and Amber immediately skipped over towards me, clearly being the one who managed to snag it from everyone else like I had thought she would.

Alright! I should prepare three more for the girls to enjoy before I start thinking about making some for the crowd!
