What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

Tyle actually cried for a solid five minutes before he calmed down.

In the meantime, I also went ahead to try those Laycrum Leaves and it was rather interesting to say the least.

The ’leaves’ popped when I bit on it which released some juices that were a little sweet and tangy while the sauce gave it a little spicy kind of taste.

I’m guessing the juices were the source of the smell earlier when I was cooking them.

Now I’m wondering if it is possible to eat them raw?

Maybe I’ll try it later.

When Tyle finally finished crying, I went over to him, ”You ok now?”

He wiped his tears away with the back of his hand, ”Sniff… Yeah… I’m ok now… Sorry about that.”

”It’s fine, so how was it?”

”It’s the most beautiful thing I have ever tasted in my life. The Balagor meat I tasted in the past would not even match up to this!”

Oh yeah, he did say that he ate this meat before…

There was one other thing though…

”You never heard of people using beer to cook before?”

”Never! This is the first time I’ve even heard about someone doing that!”

Really?

Wait… Why am I surprised? They never even heard about beer mixing either…

Although this might just be a case within the outer colonies and maybe things might be different in the inner colonies? Heck, this might just be a case of being in Denibi too so I dunno…

He took another moment to straighten himself, ”Ahem… My apologies, Miss Tera… I have shown you a disgraceful side of myself.”

I waved my hand at me, ”Oh you don’t even need to worry about that. I’ve seen that from the girls plenty of times. So you can say I’m even used to it.”

”I… Thank you, Miss Tera… Ah! I just remembered something I forgot to do! Could I leave the kitchen to you?”

”Err… Sure? Not like I actually need to do anything, right?”

”Yes. If anyone comes in and tries to cause trouble, feel free to shoot them. We’ll deal with the dead body afterwards.”

That’s a little extreme even for a place like this… I’ll just try to see what they want before actually killing them.

I assured him that I would take care of the kitchen and he quickly ran out of the room, leaving me alone inside.

Alright… Since this Bala-what’s-it steak turned out well, I guess I should try and make a few more since it was quite easy to cook and there were several more pieces of those Balagor meat in the boxes.

I searched through the boxes to look for more of the meat and took them out to gather them on the counter.

There were a total of a dozen of these meat so I decided that I could try a few different ways to cook them too.

Hmm… Since they seem to be really absorbent of liquids, I could potentially make different marinades for this to create different tastes.

Maybe I could even use fruit juices? I don’t know how those might taste…

Let’s just try it out and see how things go from there.

Since there were twelve pieces, I went to make twelve different marinades that were created using different sauces and synthfood.

There were some spicy ones, some sweet ones, a few relatively bitter ones and even some sour ones.

Not gonna lie, the sour ones were my attempt at trying to replicate the taste of lemon so that I could try and make some lemon tea since Lea obtained some tea leaves.

But one of the ingredients I was missing to make that tea was… Honey…

I looked down at my crotch.

Errr… Let’s shelve that thought for now… I’m not that desperate yet…

I went ahead to start soaking the meat in each of the sauces and I watched in wonder as each of them sucked up the sauces like a sponge.

I’m wondering just what property of this meat had that allowed it to soak up these juices so easily.

While they were doing that, I went ahead to heat up a few more of the pans and took another bite of the Balagor steak I had made earlier.

Mmm~ Nice.

I went back to the meat I had left to marinade and dropped each of them into their own individual pans.

The symphony of a dozen of these Balagor meats being cooked echoed throughout the kitchen, the sound practically music to my ears.

I hummed a tune as I flipped over each of the Balagor steaks, when I saw them change colour, making sure each of them were cooked evenly.

Right as I was preparing to shut off the heat to put them onto their individual plates, Tyle suddenly burst into the kitchen again.

Unlike before, he brought a couple more people with him and all of them had anxious looks on their faces.

”Miss Tera! We have a-- Oh… That smells so go-- Ahem! I mean we have a big order! A couple of emergency cases just showed up! They’re a really big problem right now!”

I raised an eyebrow at him, ”I’m guessing you need some food I personally made then?”

”Yes! Could I perhaps make use of… Oh… Is that even more of them?”

I nodded, ”Just freshly made. I haven’t tasted them yet though and I was trying to make them with different sauces.”

”That will do! Could I serve those?”

”Hold on a moment.”

I plated each of the Balagor steaks and poured the rest of the sauces on top of them.

This time, I didn’t bother adding any other side dishes since I doubt these people would be of the right mind to even care about that so I just need to make sure that these steaks were delicious enough and that would be good enough for these people.

I cut a small piece from the first one and brought the fork up to my mouth to taste it.

Hmmm~ Not bad.

This one was seasoned with some sweet sauces and the juices really flowed out when I bit on the meat.

Delish~

I almost wanted to take another bite but held myself back and pushed that dish aside to move on to the second one.

This one’s a little more spicy but it tastes good too. Somehow the spiciness mixed with the meat’s own juices just really makes you want to take a second bite.

”How many do you need?” I asked, pushing the second dish aside.

He paused for a moment, ”I think… Umm… If we split up those meat… Eight of those would be just enough!”

Oh nice, that leaves four for me and the girls to enjoy~

I tasted the next few dishes which were a mix of some savoury and some bitter ones. The bitter ones had the advantage of being mixed with alcohol as well which gave your throat a good burn as it slid down to your stomach.

I finished testing all twelve of them and… Well… I set aside the four plates that I thought were the best and gestured to the other ten.

”You can take these,” I announced, only to realise that everyone including Tyle was literally salivating at the sight of the meat.

Hmm… Alright, alright.

I pushed two of the remaining plates aside and nodded at them, ”You guys can share these two after you’re done serving them.”

Tyle practically jumped up in surprise when he heard my words, ”Are you really sure about that, Miss Tera?”

”Of course, that’s what I said, didn’t I? And besides, you guys are working pretty hard out there right? So no reason not to eat something as well. I’ll be making more so feel free to share them around afterwards.”

”Miss Tera, you truly are a Goddess!”

”You’re exaggerating. Hurry up and take these out before they get cold. It wouldn’t be as nice if they were cold.”

Tyle turned to the others behind him, ”You heard her! Quickly!”

The group of people practically rushed towards the plates and took all of them out with them, the two plates I set aside for them being taken by Tyle.

I watched as the entire group rushed out through the door and I got a peek of what was happening outside.

When I first came in, the place looked practically sombre and silent but now there were shouting and the sound of tableware all around the dining hall.

Seems like things were returning back to how it was like before the organic food craze. Stay connected via freewebnovel

Dare I say that things might be returning back to normal now? That sounds pretty nice, right?

Alright… Since it looks like there might be even more people coming in soon enough, I should try and make more stuff for them.

Let’s see what else is inside these boxes…

Some weird purple meat.. A thing that looks like… A brain? What the crap even is this?

Wait… Is that a dick I see in there? Oh, no it’s not, there’s some leaves sprouting out at the tip…

Seriously, what the fuck are these? Space food is weird…
