Primordial Villain with a Slave Harem

Chapter 1149: Men in Action

“… Fuck you.”

Raika cursed as the same realization dawned on her. She was trying to compete with a totally unfair entity.

An entity that now only needed to grind levels to take over the continent of Iskaris.

In the next moment, Raika’s aura swelled. Her troubled expression disappeared as if it never existed, and her muscles tensed as if she were winding up the entire world inside her body. Her grin split wide, looking feral, and her voice rang over the battlefield.

“This just means I need to kill even more!”

With a thunderous leap, she hurled herself into the fray with fists clenched and eyes blazing full of wild competitiveness.

Quinlan laughed under his breath, half admiring, half exasperated.

Ignis, wiping ash and blood from his cheek as the last of his firestorm evaporated into heat waves, gave him a sideways glance.

His chuckle was deep, sardonic. “I can already tell you’re looking at this woman the same way you were staring at Vex when we first met. Don’t tell me, Super Rookie… Are you seriously trying to bag the entire Black Fang gang? Have you lost your damn mind?”

Quinlan stayed silent for a moment. His gaze drifted toward Raika, and what he saw was something few men would call survivable, let alone attractive.

Her grin was split ear to ear, sporting manic eyes that shone with incredible bloodlust as the soldiers tried to kill her.

Spears slashed open her side. Arrows punched through her shoulder and thigh. Blood soaked her body, dripping freely from wounds that would have toppled anyone else. But Raika only fought harder. Blood freely sprayed from her lips as she spat out a mouthful, then swung her arm.

“[Annihilation Fist]!”

Her punch detonated with the force of a siege engine, crushing ribcages and collapsing skulls. A dozen Fujimori soldiers flew backward like ragdolls as their bodies broke under the raw, unrestrained power of her strike.

“Eighty!”

And then she was back at it, throwing herself once more into the tide of steel, welcoming every wound with maniacal joy.

Quinlan exhaled through his nose. A wry smile was tugging at his lips. “Mothers help me, for I’m a weak man. I can’t resist women who are far too hot and crazy for their own good. The stronger and less mentally stable they are, the more my heart yearns for them to be a big part of my life.”

Ignis froze for half a heartbeat, then burst into roaring laughter, clutching his stomach before slapping Quinlan on the back. “Bahaha! You sure have it tough, my friend. Not everyone can have such immaculate taste in the fairer gender as yours truly does.”

“Considering you prefer to dress your wives in maid costumes, your words have some merit… But I’ll stick with my scary, hot, crazy, and incredibly dangerous girls. That’s where it’s truly at.”

Ignis released a second laugh, accompanied by many pats on Quinlan’s back, which spoke of the pity the man felt for such a misguided fellow. Truly, having his tastes in women ensured his home life would never be simple nor serene.

But to each their own, the Ashmancer supposed. He would be lying if he said Quinlan’s family wasn’t an awesome bunch.

The moment of levity ended as reality shoved itself back into place.

A pyromancer on the enemy line hurled four fireballs straight at Quinlan. Without hesitation, he pulled wind into a sharp current and drew water into its flow. The combined torrent snuffed the fireballs, smothering the flames into harmless steam.

At the same time, a rain of arrows screamed overhead, seeking to pin them down. Ignis thrust both palms outward, releasing a deafening explosion that blasted the arrows apart mid-flight. Shafts splintered and fragments rained harmlessly onto the blood-soaked earth.

The two men shared a short nod, a mutual acknowledgment.

Then, without another word, they charged side by side, cutting through soldiers and corpses alike as they rushed after Raika – the whirlwind of fists and madness ahead of them.

[You’ve reached level 41.]

[You’ve reached level 42.]

The XP notifications stacked one after another, and Quinlan felt the familiar rush of level-ups coursing through his veins. He invested the new points instantly.

[Level: 40 -> 42. XP 190/4,695,452]

[Health Points: 1913 -> 2044]

[Mana Points: 3319 -> 3450]

[Vitality: 128 -> 136]

[Strength: 125 -> 134]

[Agility: 133 -> 141]

[Magic: 221 -> 230]

Finally getting new levels after a rather long ‘break’ felt outright liberating.

But he did not let it cloud his judgment. He remained focused, celebrating nothing. That would come later. First, they had business to conduct.

The mistake of leaning too hard on magic in the past weighed on him even now. Quinlan ventured to ensure the damned Soul Records would not call him a simple mage ever again.

As such, today, his saber was not just a vessel for souls; it was the extension of his will.

The Soul Reaper cut through the air, humming with a sinister rhythm. Quinlan stepped into Elemental Stance: Flame. Heat radiated off him, muscles brimming with power. His saber cleaved down, slicing through two Fujimori soldiers in one clean arc.

[You’ve slain Haruto (Level 47). You’ve gained 28,000 XP.]

[You’ve slain Mei (Level 44). You’ve gained 24,000 XP.]

A heavy spear thrust at his ribs. Quinlan twisted his body even before the two corpses could hit the ground, switching to Elemental Stance: Gale.

Wind howled around him, sharpening his movements to blinding speed. He parried the spear aside and followed with three rapid slashes that blurred into one. Blood sprayed as the Fujimori collapsed, severed tendons leaving him broken.

[You’ve slain Sakura (Level 51). You’ve gained 38,000 XP.]

The level 51 had put up resistance, forcing Quinlan to chain together strikes rather than ending her with one. In fact, she stood her ground so well that reinforcement reached before he was done.

He grinned, slipping deeper into the rhythm of war. Every heartbeat sharpened him, every swing molded him further into a living weapon.

His primordial senses stretched wide, catching even the smallest shifts in killing intent. Still Heart kept his mind steady as steel, while instinct and calculation blended into one seamless engine of destruction.

One might assume that this man was strong because of his having numerous classes, but he would only be half right.

The truth was more nuanced.
