Re-Birth Of A Genius. Creator/Destroyer

Chapter 2554: Counter

Atrocus’ spear is glowing with a blinding golden light.

But Sam on the other hand brought out an ordinary spear. In the sense that it was mostly used by students training in initial stages of divine plane. The only way it could be an extremely powerful weapon is if it was wielded by the peak stage Astral plane cultivators.

For a fight of this level... it is almost an insult to Atrocus that Sam pulled out a weapon like that.

Atrocus didn’t hesitate to show it. He immediately rushed at Sam. The vein on his forehead is ready to pop.

As the spear came down swinging, Sam slid to the side and just poked with his spear a few times. One landed on the wrist of Atrocus, halting the spear swing. The second hit landed on his abdomen, over the armor.

It didn’t penetrate, but once again threw his balance. The third strike was on his arm. Grazing past it, creating a superficial wound.

And Atrocus felt a sense of Dejavu envelop him. Sam started throwing one swing after the other. They were simplest of spear attacks. Mostly stabs and sweeps here and there.

Most of those attacks were targeting the armor. They were not strong enough to destroy him outright. But of course, he did make a point to attack the open places like arms and legs, giving him just enough grazes.

Atrocus got angrier with every passing second.

He tried his best to move, but Sam’s sole focus was on controlling Atrocus’ movement.

Atrocus’ spear glowed and he stopped compressing his attacks.

*BOOM*

With a loud explosion, finally they had some distance between them. Atrocus balanced himself. His body emitted a faint golden glow. Surprisingly, it wasn’t any elemental glow. Just the neutral energy, but it took such color.

He spat out some blood and angrily threw the spear at Sam. The spear took the shape of a much more bigger spear, conjured of golden energy. Sam spun his own spear swept the attack.

*BOOM*

A huge trail of water came out of the sea with the impact. However, even before that, Atrocus already closed the distance. He took out a sword and attacked Sam.

Sam blocked the sword attack, with his spear. Atrocus at the moment, smirked. The spear that went away with Sam’s deflection, disappeared and reappeared in Atrocus’ free hand.

He stabbed Sam with full force.

”He started acting with his tricks. This new guy is done for.”

The was basically what every single member of the younger generation thought. However, to their surprise, Sam not only didn’t bother to block or dodge the attack. His hand moved towards and caught the spear by the neck of its tip.

He pulled the spear and Atrocus along with it. But Atrocus let go of the spear decisively, a saber appeared in his hand. He struck at Sam’s neck...

Sam let go of Atrocus spear, pulled out a saber of his own and blocked the attack. He kicked the opponent away to create some more gap.

Then his own spear disappeared. He took out a sword. Once again, not his usual reaper sword but a different one.

”A sword and a saber. Dual wielding. Haven’t done that in a long time.”

Sam muttered and the clash resumed.

Both of them went toe to toe. The audience gradually saw who got the upper hand. Atrocus was fast, precise and extremely quick on his feet. He could think dozens of moves ahead and was good at using every weapon.

He was expert at every one of them.

But, whatever change he made to his combat strategy, Sam followed.

He never took the initiative to make any big moves.

But he only followed Atrocus’ pace. But he always came out on top.

Even when they were using sword and saber at the same time, Sam became a nightmare that made Atrocus grind his teeth in frustration. Then they shifted to daggers, throwing weapons... no matter what kind of weapon it was Sam just switched and tackled seamlessly.

The expression on the younger generation seemed more and more serious.

The guy next to Shin in particular couldn’t ease the frown on his head.

”Atrocus’ best ability is to use so many weapons with such a flow that its hard to predict his moves. And his weapons are all top class. Its hard for anyone to win against him, despite him not having enough raw strength.

But this new guy. Not only is he holding his own, he looks like he is having fun. He isn’t putting any effort. Most importantly, his weapons are all duds. They are training material or disposable weapons at best.

But they are not being damaged or broken and he was always coming out on top in terms of technique.

This guy is dangerous. He just reminds me of someone.”

The guy looked at Parth who was looking at the whole battle with intrigue.

Before anyone else, he knew how the battle was going to go. He knew it instinctually that this was already Sam’s. But he didn’t expect the skill disparity would be this huge.

As the battle raged for another half an hour, Atrocus finally lost it.

*BAM*

He took a clean kick to his chest and fell back.

He was panting heavily. There were dozens of small wounds all over his body. Even though his armor wasn’t broken, the force of attacks itself created several bruises underneath.

This is a first for him. And looking at Sam... he was barely sweating.

”YOU... HOW DARE YOU TREAT ME LIKE THIS?” Atrocus screamed and charged at Sam with the sword in his hand.

The sword glowed along with Atrocus. Golden light enveloped the whole area. Everyone became serious. Even Sam. This move was special. He didn’t know what exactly it was, but it gave him the same vibe as the blood art other players use.

”He learned your infamous technique. I am surprised he mastered it with his emotional state.” Parth said to Myrmon.

Myrmon just sighed as Atrocus with his huge golden sword swung at Sam.
