Re-Birth Of A Genius. Creator/Destroyer

Chapter 2211  Escape

The backlash from using this particular high level item is that it has to absorb all the impact that comes from the multiple attacks. Much like a gunʼs recoil.

So, it will break down after taking enough hits like that. But that is enough.

*BOOM*

Ivar swung his axe again as he lunged at Gawk. While Icarus moved like a flash of light as he tailed Gawk who already shifted into his shadow form. Gawk is light on his feet and he floated in the air like a feather.

Ivar did have some trouble catching up to him, particularly when their cultivation levels are this far apart.

However, Icarus didnʼt have that type of struggle. After all, he did learn from Gawk and knew many things about how he fights. So, he managed to keep himself at the tail of Gawk and he helped Ivar get enough chances to deal the damage.

The fight went on and on for a few minutes until…

Ivar gritted his teeth and focused on the glove. The initial pale white glow suddenly turned red. The energy started channeling into the axe and formed various runic patterns. Ivar felt his arm go numb. His veins are bulging out as if they are ready to pop up out of his arm.

The muscle fibers were put under so much stress and they are ready to be torn into shreds at any moment.

He started sweating profusely.

*HISS* *HISS*

Ivarʼs breathing was like the hissing of a snake. Icarus and Gawk obviously noticed this change. The former became decisive while the latter became vigilant. Before Gawk could react however, Icarus also focused on his glove.

However, his gloveʼs color didnʼt change into red. Rather green.

His arm also experienced extreme stress, but not as much as Ivarʼs. The next moment, he extended his hand. From the center of the glove, an energy wave shot out, followed by what looked like a tiny bullet condensed out of pure energy.

Gawk who was ready to escape, felt the shockwave disturb his energy circulation, very slightly.

It was just a minute vibration, nothing much. But it delayed him for a split second which allowed Icarusʼ ʼenergy bulletʼ to catch up.

Even before it could touch Gawk, the energy bullet exploded, not with too much noise or destruction, instead it broke down into several small orbs that arranged themselves in a certain pattern creating a formation.

Gawk felt energy surging in the middle of the formation and finally the attack came.

Heat surged as flames roared from within the formation.

*BOOM*

Gawk was caught off guard. Fire element was not Icarusʼ forte, he didnʼt have the affinity, so that was the last thing he expected. When it exploded in his face, he hurriedly blocked it and was blown away.

*SWOOSH*

The next second, he felt something cold move behind his neck. He tried to turn around, but he couldnʼt. All he could see was whatʼs in front of him.

A sharp created from the cleaving of an axe was moving in front of him. Surprisingly, not towards him, but away from him. Almost as if it has… originated from him.

He tried to look down and the next thing he knew, he was seeing his own body with Ivar standing behind him. Before he could comprehend what was happening, his head and body which were separated were crashing down.

The ice ray came out from Ivarʼs axe. Just like how fire was not Icarusʼ affinity, Ivar also doesnʼt have an ice affinity. Both of the flaming explosion and the cleaver of Ice were not their attacks, instead they were the attacks of various elders from different regions.

They were the special attacks programmed into the gloves. When the glove is pale white, they are basically using the resonance and the energy reservoir. When using the green, they are using a mid-ranged attack, which is a bit powerful than their own power.

When using the red mode, the attack is way beyond their means and they shouldnʼt wield it.

Icarus landed on the ground along with Ivar.

Both of them removed the gloves.

Icarusʼ glove is damaged badly. But if one took a closer look, they could see that the cracks are trying to heal themselves. He took out a different energy cell and placed it in the slot where the existing energy cell was as already empty.

Meanwhile, Ivarʼs glove collapsed and turned into dust the moment, he took it off.

There is one thing in common though.

The state of their arms.

Icarusʼ arm looked damaged. The arms are broken and from the fingers to the shoulder, it is effected with extreme fire element corrosion. It is almost like fire has taken room into his cells to consume his fresh slowly.

The pain is apparent in Icarusʼ eyes, but he endured it. He gritted his teeth as he pulled out an injector. It is different from the ones given by Sam for their escape. This injector has a bunch of medical vials that are created specially for recovering from the backlash.

The injection started expelling the fire elemental corrosion.

Meanwhile, Ivarʼs situation is even more dire.

His hand was frozen. The flesh was torn apart. They could see his bone and it looked like it is ready to fall off any given moment. He is even afraid to move and the pain is already enough to kill him a few times.

He took out a different vial and injected it into his shoulder where the flesh was still intact.

”We donʼt have much time. We need to move.”

Icarus said as he sensed multiple people, making their way there. Even before he could finish the sentence, both of them could see few people just a couple of hundred meters away.

The elders are here.

Both of them knew that this fight will attract the attention of the elders. They are not strong enough to fight them at this moment. They need a few years for that to happen.

And they achieved what they wanted to a great extent. The exchanged a smile before they crushed tokens.

*SWOOSH*

With a flash they disappeared and appeared at a different spot of the city, to another hide out where they are getting ready to recover from the backlash.

The healing is already happening at a visible pace, so they only need a few minutes.

Meanwhile, back at the spot where Gawk is lying headless…

One of the Elders angrily took out his communication token and started contacting everyone of the Zeus academy elders that are on the search.

”Scan everything. Screw holding back. Those bastards just killed one of the Elders. They have means to fight back. We need to fight back and ensure that they didnʼt not leave. Half of you, search every single building and use all of the city guard.

The remaining, gather at the Hub. We are going to break it down today.”

The elders are angry.

Back at the hiding spot which is another ready-to-collapse bar, Icarus and Ivar are healing.

Icarus contacted the other managers through the wrist band.

”We have successfully killed an Elder from the Zeus academy. The elders must have made the move. You can see them on your trackers. We need to leave the city as soon as possible. We cannot get caught.

Be careful and not get caught. Abandon all of your fights right now.”

He didnʼt bother to listening to the otherʼs replies.

Somewhere in the city. A beautiful woman holding twin daggers is sitting on top of a house as she looked at the bunch of fourth graders lying helplessly on the ground as they bled out.

”Damn, it. I wanted to play around with you guys for some more time. But I guess, the plans take precedence.”

As she spoke, she disappeared like a flash and the next moment, all the heads of the people lying there were cut off.

In a different corner, a young man is in the middle of two instructors. They were not elders, but recently joined instructors and they already informed the elders that he is there.

He was actually waiting for the Elderʼs arrival, but when he heard Icarusʼ announcement, he knew that he couldnʼt wait. He swung both of his hands as he made a grabbing motion.

Both of his arms were covered with the gloves and both of them are still in white mode. The palms condensed giant claws that ripped into the throats of the instructors before he disappeared from there.

Similar scenes occurred in other places. Soon, all eight of the managers are at the same hiding spot with Icarus and Ivar.

By then their hands are almost healed. They are in the final stage.

”You guys did take quite some beating. Still, an elder kill is an elder kill. Who did you guys kill?” The twin daggered woman, Lan asked them.

”Gawk.” Icarus replied half-heartedly as he checked his arm movement.

Lan was stunned.

”Gawk? That guys is pretty high in the list, isnʼt he? I thought you found some wuss. You took down a decent target.”

”Enough Chitchat, we need to leave. Prepare your injections.”

Ivar cut her off and took out the special injection given by Sam.
