Re-Birth Of A Genius. Creator/Destroyer

Chapter 2140  Behind the Scenes Deal

The big round zero started changing rapidly, it turned into one, two, four, five, six digit number and finally it reached seven digits before it slowed down. Even then, the number moved up.

The managerʼs gaze is locked on the first digit. His heart tightened as it grew slowly.

1…

2…

4…

6…

And that is when the first digit stopped moving, soon the second digit, the third, fourth, finally when the number appeared.

6561234

He gulped hard. That is gold coins. It is not like the exchange center doesnʼt have the reserves for it, instead, he is worried that if a single theory can draw so much, what would happen when he appraised all of them?

He also noticed the time taken for the appraisal, it is much longer when compared to appraising a theory on paper. This video is taking longer. Maybe the format is one of the reasons for it and the complexity could be another.

No matter, he knew that he is going to spend a long long time in front of the appraisal formation.

And that is just the start.

The videos kept on coming. The manager of the exchange centers watched this from there with interest. But at that moment, he spotted something that piqued his interest. Because at that moment, Ivar has dressed in the exact same way as Icarus.

The disguise so similar that no one would believe that they are two different people unless they saw them together.

He did the same thing as Icarus. He dropped the divine dimension fragment and then the tokens along with it. A call came to the manager and he responded exactly the same.

”What the hell are these guys planning?”

He muttered to himself and made a few more calls to pull up the logs and all the administration details. Soon, he found out one thing. The land deed of all the hub areas are protected from the academy members to see.

This made him curious and he checked who bought it all.

Lo and behold it is under Samʼs name. He started connecting the dots and his anticipation only grew.

”For so many fucking years, this Academy realm has been way too boring. Now, finally someone with some balls and abilities came. I want to see how this turns out.”

Just like he anticipated, these actions already started making waves. That very day, the students that went to keep to the exchange center were sent back. None of them were allowed to make any contributions.

When they asked about when they can come back, the receptionist only gave one answer.

”If only we can find that out.”

He went back. Many students, hundreds of them were rebuffed and they all panicked. They directly ran to their instructors and elders, the news was quickly spread to Deans.

Even the Gambler Academy was not devoid of suffering from this.

Dove held her forehead, she was just getting ready to make a big move on the Zeus Academy and at this moment, this news came to her. She sent one of the grade 4 seniors to go there and check the situation. Since it was a Grade 4 student, the receptionist patiently explained the situation. After that, he took a large parchment and wrote it down there.

He sealed the door and pasted it there along with the signature of his own and the signature of the branch manager.

The senior went and reported this to Dove.

”Why the fuck would someone give that many contributions at the same time? It almost seems intentional.”

She muttered in her heart. At that moment…

*TING*

Her wrist band lit up. It was a message and it came from someone she didnʼt expect to ever communicate with.

None other than Icarus.

She was surprised, because Icarus asked for a meeting. She hesitated before agreeing to it and went out to the Hub to meet him.

As soon as she entered the hub, she felt a force pulling her away to the cabin in which Icarus was sitting in.

She was stunned to find herself sitting in a wooden chair. Across the table in front of her, Icarus sat waiting for her arrival.

”Thatʼs quite a welcome, you have here.”

She muttered and looked around. Only then did she notice that the whole room is a closed box. There is no entrance or exit to it. There is no ventilation.

”Is this a secret office?”

”Yes.”

”So, why did you call me here?” She asked. She is still calm, despite being trapped with someone stronger than her.

”I contacted you because a friend asked me to do you a favor on behalf of the hub. So, I called you to give you a headsup as well as an olive branch.”

”Heads up? For what?”

”You must have already gotten the news that the exchange center has been closed down. It wonʼt be opening for days. It might even take a couple of months before it opened.”

”Couple of months? Why would you know about it? Even the staff are not sure how long it will take.”

”Letʼs just say, my friend has his means. I wonʼt go into details. All I can tell you is, the coin influx from the exchange center is going to be blocked for a while.”

”So? The students will struggle in the next few days a bit. It is not like there was never a coin shortage in the realm. It happens quite often.”

Icarus smiled at that reply.

”Of course, even I faced the coin shortage you mentioned myself. But if you think about it, you will understand that the coin shortage this time, is quite different from the coin shortage in the previous years.

This time, the students donʼt have the reserves like they usually do. The missions are not sufficient as well, because the students all have new expenses.”

At this moment, realization dawned on Dove. She completely forgot about the special training program and its clause.

”The students have to pay for the special training program.” She muttered out loud.

”Exactly. The students have to pay a weekly fee and I am sure a lot of your academyʼs students are already panicking about it. I called you here to help you out of this situation.”

Dove heaved a sigh.

”Icarus, if I remember correctly, the Gambler Academy didnʼt really have that much friendship with the hub. Why would you contact me directly to offer help? After all, I heard many cases in which the hub was stubborn like a bull.

Why would you bend the rules now?”

”As I said, because of a friend.”

”Who would that friend be?”

”I am not in a place to reveal the details. Of course, Dove, if you are that suspicious and do not want my help, you are welcome to reject it.

It is no problem for me.”

”Never mind, whoever it may be, since it is for my academyʼs benefit, I cannot reject it.”

”All right, I heard that the Gambler Academy is about to wage a large scale attack against the Zeus Academy.”

”It is no secret. I already announced it.”

”So, whatever you gain from the Zeus Academy, in terms of the resource points, you need give five percent to the hub.

Of course, you donʼt have to pay the share from the ransom. That is completely yours. Only the resource points and the resources that come from it. That too, five percent in the existing reserves. It is not even a continuous deal.

If you do that, your students do not have to pay the fee for the next few months. Even after that, I will modify the contract so that they can use other things, even the spirit stones to pay instead of the coins.”

”Why does that deal sound too good to be true? Everyone knows that the true profits from the Academy war only come from the ransoms. You are leaving such a big pie alone? Based on how much desperation this situation is going to cause, you could have gotten quite a big piece of that pie.”

”Once again, this is a favor, not a pure profitable deal and it is for a friend.”

”Thatʼs one generous friend. I wonder what Joker will think about it.”

”Donʼt worry, Joker never rejects that manʼs words. Even if that man says to give away the whole Hub, Joker would do that.”

Dove was stumped.

”Who the hell is that man?”

”You know him. Its just that you donʼt know that is him thatʼs doing this. Anyway, you can go and tell your students this. However, there is one thing, you need to issue a massive gag order.

You need to inform each and every student separately and make sure that you make a soul contract with them. They also need to act like they are in distress. The hub is not ready to face the pressure from other academies because of this.”

”Alright, this deal seems like it is too good to be true though. I hope you are not pulling my leg here.”

”Of course not. That friend might get me fired if I did so.”
