Re-Birth Of A Genius. Creator/Destroyer

Chapter 2120  First Labor

Dayus and the Dean returned to the Academy realm when the hysteria caused by the leak of the information was at the peak.

And as mentioned, Dayus nearly destroyed his dorm room up on learning the information about the legacy inheritances has been leaked.

The Dean however had more pressing concerns, the cases. He had to meet each and every member of his academy to prepare them for the cases. And that day went away just like that.

Soon, it was time for Samʼs first labor.

The first academy to give out the labor is the Dionysus Academy. The Dionysus Academy is actually one of the diverse academies in the Olympian region. Unlike Zeus academy that specializes in Lightning and Spear and Hephaestus Academy that specializes in blacksmithing and formations, the Dionysus Academy is a bit diverse in its specializations.

And each specialization doesnʼt really correlate with each other.

First one is the weapon, staff. Another one is brewing and concoctions, finally illusions and illusion formations.

Of course, there was occasionally some cross between the concoctions and illusions, but that was it.

However, even with that Diverse specialization in different fields, the Dionysus academy is still one of the best. Even though based on Samʼs estimation, Dionysus must not be the strongest of the bunch among the Olympians, his academy ranking didnʼt reflect his strength.

His Academy is ranked in top 5 among the Olympian academies.

Sam walked into the Dionysus academy grounds to receive his labor. The labors have actually been reviewed by the court and even the authorities of the Gambler Academy. It was just that its tradition for the person subjected to the labors to get it directly from the academy grounds.

He met with the Dean in the middle of the academy grounds. Many students, instructions and elders were assembled, watching the whole fiasco.

”Student Sam, here is your first of the twelve labors.

As the Dean of the Dionysus Academy, I hereby command you to bring me the blood of a Sea beast named Illuthralith.

Your quest doesnʼt not have any time limit and shall only be considered complete after you submit the blood of that beast and the blood is verified to be that beastʼs. The verification process will be conducted in the grounds of Gambler Academy and in the presence of the city guard and judiciary official to avoid any foul play.

Do you accept the quest?”

The Dean spoke with a wide toothed grin.

Sam took a deep breath and extended his hand. The dean folded the scroll that he just read out of and placed it in his hands.

”I wish you the best of luck.”

Sam nodded and walked out.

His expression solemn until he exited the academy grounds and walked back to his dorm in the Gambler Academy.

As soon as he did, Sam broke out in to a wide grin. The labors were not actually discussed in extensive meetings before, for that reason Sam was unable to gain much information from it. The Deans only discussed how they wanted to use the labors to deal with Sam.

That is all.

Even the proposal was given to the court through documents. Even though Sam can use the birds to get info on the documents, focusing too much on them from various angles might raise unnecessary suspicion. After all, to do that kind of spying, the birds have to move and position themselves in certain angles.

That could only mean a disaster if the usually ignorant deans find it odd.

Anyway, he already knew what this labor is awaiting him in terms of danger, but he didnʼt know what the actual labor was. Now he knew.

Illuthralith is a squid type beast that is specialized in illusions. In the ocean, it occupies its own territory and creates an illusion that leads the other creatures directly into its mouth for easier consumption.

The creatures wonʼt know that they were being devoured until they were being digested inside its body.

The beast is very hard to spot and the sea needs to be of a certain kind to allow an Illuthralith to survive within it.

Right now, it is only available in two places, one of them is a pocket dimension of the Norse realm. The pocket dimension known as the Turbulent Seas. It is open for the First graders and second graders as well.

And it is open on the same day as the next pocket dimension will open in the Olympian region.

That was where the Dean of Dionysus academy and the people behind him laid down a sketch for Sam. Right now, so many people wants to kill Sam, he stopped keeping track, but he knew the Noble league would be most active during the twelve labors and his assumption didnʼt turn out to be wrong.

They are behaving exactly as he expected them to behave.

They are confident that Sam wouldnʼt know or able to access the second place where he could find an Illuthralith. Because the second place was in the territory of the Sjor family and Sam had some plans already in line with them.

He took out the communication token and contacted Icarus.

”Can you inform Ivar that the plans with Thalassa and Sjor are moved up. We need to finish negotiating the deal in the next two days.”

”Alright.”

That was all he got from the other side. After around fifteen minutes, Icarus called.

”Fifteen minutes. Meet him at the Norse branch.”

Icarus only gave that message and cut the call. He is way too busy to make any small talk.

Sam didnʼt mind and just took out his dimensional drifter. It has been a while since he used this. Whenever he went out in the Academy realm, for example to the other regions, he always went on harbinger, to check out the realm itself.

Now, there is nothing much left for him to see.

He used the dimensional drifter to appear in the Norse branch. He went straight to the hidden office to wait for Ivar.

Some time later, Ivar arrived.

”We are pushing the negotiations forward? Why?”

”I need Illuthralithʼs blood? How valuable is it for the Sjor family?”

”Not much. From what I gathered on them, those assholes basically farm that beast. It is not exactly known to the outside world, but the person I marked in that family leaked this information without even knowing.”

”How?”

”I stole his recording crystals.”

”Is he the same person we are going to meet? Your ʼfriendʼ?”

”Yeah.”

”Some friend you are. Stealing directly from him.” Sam smirked at this. Ivar just shrugged. Sjor family has way too much influence in norse region and that made them prime suspects for some of the crimes Ivar was investigating.

Even though nothing substantial has come up and there were not many shady things these people have done corresponding the academy realm, he did find some bad apples. The friend he made was the only way for Ivar to get in touch with these bad apples. Because this friend is one of the few who has high talents that his family wants to make use of. But he was also suppressed slightly because of the family politics and his background.

So, he is a bit easy to approach and take advantage of.

”When do you want to meet him?” Ivar asked.

”Right away.”

”We can go now then.”

Sam disguised himself and followed Ivar. At first he didnʼt want to meet the other party directly, but now that he has a coincidental task and the time that came along with it, he might as well.

They left the Academy realm through a wormhole leading to the outside world and from there it didnʼt even take a couple of hours to leave. Soon, they arrived at a bustling island city within Sjor territory.

They walked through the streets and arrived at a high end bar.

”Really? Donʼt tell he is a drunkard.” Sam asked. ”Fine, I wonʼt tell you.” Ivar chuckled and led him in. Sam sighed. Whenever he plotted against a family or used a family to his advantage, he always tried to find a guy that he can use to his advantage and more often than not, that guy always ended up being a drunkard.

This time as well.

”Even though he drinks like a skunk, he is a very productive guy. He actually works out of here.”

”Good to know.”

They entered private room soon. A young man is sitting on the other side of the table with a document in his hands. There was a half empty glass of wine on the table.

He looked at Ivar with a smile.

”Nice to see you my friend. After such a long time. I was hoping you would stop by.”

”Really? Why?”

Ivar asked in surprise.

”My team is working on a new alloy metal for making weapons of high impact. I wanted you to test it. I was about to contact you in a couple of days. And you contacted me yourself. And this must be the friend you mentioned.”
