Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

The dinner took too long, even Butler Kent dared not come in to clear away the finished dishes.

This is how the Hallow Family spent their nights, with some people sweetly clinging together like spring, while others, watching the rain and snow outside, felt colder than John Jones.

Ava Walker and Ella Johnson sat in the room, looking at the extremely simple dinner, their faces turning unsightly.

The dinners prepared by the Hallow Family for her were getting increasingly indifferent and simpler by the day.

”What the hell is this, Butler Kent, don’t you know I don’t eat lamb?” Ava Walker loudly questioned as she looked at the spicy stir-fried lamb on the table.

”It won’t happen next time, Second Young Mistress.” The housekeeper replied coldly, without further explanation.

Atlas had instructed him to keep it indifferent enough that she wouldn’t starve, finding a balance was crucial. It couldn’t be as lavish as before, yet on the surface, he still reluctantly prepared four dishes and a soup, after all, Ava was still titled the Second Young Mistress.

The housekeeper was a smart man. He could tell that Ava Walker would never rise again in this lifetime because she committed a great taboo in the Hallow Family. Moreover, now that the First Young Mistress was back pregnant, she was cherished by the whole family. Even the Second Madam was hit for saying something disagreeable, let alone Ava Walker, who committed a major error.

The housekeeper knew she would never stand up again in the Hallow Family, and once Atlas handled all matters, Ava and her daughter would surely be driven out, with an unknown miserable outcome. He was considered a person with a heart, still, she’d nitpick even with four dishes and a soup.

These days, preparations had to be solidly made for the return of the First Young Master and First Young Mistress to the Hallow Family. The kitchen was fully focused on the First Young Mistress today, which led to forgetting that the Second Young Mistress didn’t eat lamb. But even if she didn’t eat lamb, there were other dishes, so the housekeeper didn’t plan to make any additional dishes but simply carried the lamb out.

Seeing the housekeeper like this, Ava Walker’s eyes were like red-hot branding irons. It was enough that Atlas bullied her, but now even a servant didn’t respect her?

Rushing forward, she suddenly extended her hand and gave the housekeeper a hard shove. Since he was an elderly man of some years, such an unexpected forceful shove made him fall to the ground, and the plate of lamb in his hand also overturned onto the plush carpet.

”Do you really think I’m dead? Is this how you deal with me?” Ava Walker said harshly, feeling near madness. Since being trapped in the Hallow Family, she hadn’t been able to leave her room for days, seeing the outside world only through the windows. She couldn’t go shopping or drive around for fun. She didn’t know what else she could do, not having seen Atlas in a long time.

Having stayed in the Hallow Family for a long time, the housekeeper was also an experienced elder, so he calmly stood up, dusted off the lamb from his clothes, and said with a calm and courteous expression, ”Second Young Mistress, it’s fine if you want to say something. You don’t have to get mad. It’s okay if I, this old pile of bones, get hurt, but ruining your mood is something I can’t afford.”

If it were before, Ava Walker would think the housekeeper was speaking sincerely, but today, hearing this, it felt piercingly sarcastic.

”Don’t think I don’t know, is it because Charlotte Miller is back that you dare to be so presumptuous? As long as I haven’t left, I’m still your master. Now go tell the kitchen what I want to eat and redo everything.” After Ava Walker finished speaking, she swept all the dishes on the coffee table onto the carpet.

The entire white plush carpet turned into a mess.

The aroma of the overturned food spread in all directions, but amidst this atmosphere, it felt a bit eerie.

The housekeeper said nothing and, seeing Ava Walker finish her tantrum, glanced around, planning to have some servants come in later to clean up, but offering food was out of the question since missing one meal wouldn’t starve her.

”Atlas instructed just to avoid starvation. If you have any issues, you can directly talk to Atlas. I’m just a servant; I cannot bear such a thing.” After saying this, the housekeeper looked at Ava Walker’s furious pale face and inwardly let out a cold laugh.
