Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

”You’re thinking too much about being under house arrest. You can go out if you want, but you don’t even have a penny on you. Do you think you can still go on vacation or abroad for relaxation like before? You’re using the Hallow Family’s money but ruining their plans. I really can’t figure out, Ava Walker, how your brain works. Do you think Amir doesn’t know about your little maneuvers? He doesn’t even want to say a single word to you. You better stay obediently in the Hallow Family, or else I guarantee you’ll live worse than a stray dog if you go out.” Amir looked at Ava, the contempt in his eyes making Ava feel extremely humiliated and embarrassed.

Is there even a need to put her under house arrest? It’s downright ridiculous. At least staying obediently in the Hallow Family, she can still have three meals a day. If she really dares to run away, she’d truly have nothing to eat.

”Not only are you stupid yourself, but you’ve also harmed those who stirred trouble with you. Do you think they can achieve anything? Do you think they have any significant impact on the Hallow Clan? It’s utterly foolish. You still don’t understand what kind of person Amir is, and the love you think you have is even more laughable. Take care of yourself...” Amir finished speaking and turned to leave.

As the door closed, it also shut out the hysterical cries.

It’s a critical time right now. He really needs to keep Ava in line, or else if anything happens again, it’ll be trouble for him too.

Amir never thought about having a position in the Hallow Clan. Someone else can work hard to make money for him to share dividends, what’s wrong with that?

Do brothers have to fight each other to the point of bloodshed?

He doesn’t want to take over these matters for two reasons. First, because he has no interest, and second, because even if he handles it, he can’t elevate the entire Hallow Clan to its peak market value in a short time like Amir has, so this position should belong to the capable.

He has always disliked those whose ambition exceeds their competence. They are of no use. It’s just like Ava overthinking this, and this time she really dug a pit for herself.

Utterly foolish. What if there’s a video?

It’s been years since the incident. Now, even the eldest uncle’s heart isn’t well. To sentence an accidental killing and grant medical parole is very simple, although it might cause some stock price fluctuations again, but it won’t greatly affect the stability of the Hallow Clan.

Amir walked down the stairs step by step, and Butler Kent came up to him.

”Second Young Master, dinner is ready. Should we eat now or wait for the Second Young Madam?” Butler Kent looked at Amir’s face, which didn’t seem well. Did they argue again?

”We don’t need to wait for her. She’s not eating dinner tonight,” Amir rubbed his temple. He hadn’t been this angry for so many years. He was really infuriated by that idiot Ava until his brain felt like it would explode. She even colluded with outsiders to cause trouble? Starving for a few meals should make her obedient.

”Yes...” The housekeeper responded respectfully and quickly went to prepare dinner for Amir alone. It seemed that this time the Hallow Family was really going to be unsettled.

At the Foster Family courtyard, it was also time for dinner.

The cooks in the kitchen prepared eagerly, as Fifth Young Master finally rose to eat.

Atlas Hallow and Little Five sat in the flower hall, where the housekeeper had already prepared the aged Pu’er tea that Little Five liked, along with a table full of snacks.

Lotus puff pastry, peas pudding, London cake, and sweet osmanthus lotus root, they were all sweets. Little Five, looking displeased, casually picked one, ate a bit, and frowned. The housekeeper quickly handed over a tissue, which Little Five took and held to his lips to spit the lotus puff pastry onto the tissue.

The exquisite lotus puff pastry was taken back to the kitchen, and the pastry chef was almost about to cry.

This lotus puff pastry was also something Fifth Young Master liked. The proportions of water, oil, flour, red bean paste, and sugar were already fixed, and there was no difference in taste with any previous time, so why was it spat out today?

The two chefs who were making hot dishes felt a chill down their spines; today surely wasn’t going to be a good day.

Atlas observed Little Five’s slightly absent-minded look and asked solemnly, ”What’s the matter? Do you have something on your mind, Fifth Young Master?”

What could he have on his mind? He was just feeling inexplicably unhappy.

Little Five shook his head, watching the sky gradually darken, speaking to himself, ”It’s almost New Year soon...”

Fifth Young Master usually didn’t bother with New Year’s or other festivals, so why was he suddenly interested in the matter of New Year’s? The housekeeper listening from the side was a bit anxious, wondering if Fifth Young Master was still thinking that Cecilia Wilson would come over after the New Year to give him a massage.

Ah, the ways of the world are so incomprehensible. Their Fifth Young Master was a dragon among men, and if he wanted to find a girl, he could walk circles around the whole city. But why does he have his heart set on a boy’s mind?

The housekeeper’s phone vibrated in his pocket. He quickly signaled an experienced servant to quietly stand in his place. Someone must always be by Fifth Young Master’s side to serve him tea and water, and then he slowly walked outside to answer the call.

No one’s phone rang; they all vibrated, as if afraid of making Fifth Young Master unhappy. The housekeeper glanced at the phone number and quickly picked it up.

”Madam, do you have any instructions?” The housekeeper lowered his voice, and on the other end, Madam Foster also carefully lowered her voice: ”How is Little Five’s mood? Did he eat anything?”

”He drank six cups of tea and ate a piece of lotus puff pastry, then spat it out,” the housekeeper reported truthfully, and heard a sigh on the other end of the call.

”Was it poorly made? Then change a cook, how could he eat it and feel uncomfortable?” It’s rare that he ate a piece of snack and felt unwell, which made Madam Foster anxious and worried.

”Perhaps Fifth Young Master isn’t feeling well today. Before dinner, Mr. Atlas Hallow came and stayed for dinner tonight, so you can relax.” The housekeeper thought having someone accompany him might make him eat a bit more, so he carefully comforted Madam Foster.

”That’s good, have the kitchen make a few more dishes, and also more soups.” As soon as she heard Little Five had company for dinner, Madam Foster felt a bit relieved.

After giving instructions to the housekeeper, Madam Foster hung up the phone, sitting on the large terrace, looking at the garden, and took a sip of coffee.

It was just liking a little boy. If her son likes him, she must get him for her son.

She always thought her Little Five’s temper was so strange, afraid she’d die and her son would end up lonely, but now it seems there is a glimmer of hope.

What does the world matter? If not viewed from worldly perspectives, her son is worthy of anyone, whether a man or a woman.

”Madam, here is the information you requested. I’ve investigated it all.” A subordinate from the Foster Clan delivered a file bag, handed it carefully to Madam Foster, and then hurriedly withdrew.

The timing was perfect. She needed to know everything about Cecilia Wilson so that she could find ways to control him.

Her Little Five in this aspect is genuinely clean and simple like a blank sheet of paper. But what she can be sure of is her son has really taken a liking to Cecilia Wilson, as these abnormal behaviors are enough to prove it.

She picked up the file bag and opened it, a few thin sheets of paper peeking out.

Cecilia Wilson, female, twenty-one years old...

Madam Foster’s mouth curved into a smile; this was truly excellent.

The dinner consisted of four side dishes, twelve hot dishes, and three soups, all filling a large table.

Little Five was still lethargic after eating a few mouthfuls before putting down his chopsticks.

”I’ve checked all the exit records, all the hotels and guests in the city, regardless of star rating, even unlicensed black shops, I’ve thoroughly investigated. Could you say where she might be?” Little Five raised an eyebrow; this was truly the first time he’d encountered such a situation. Not only these, but even the entire banking system and other payment systems couldn’t find a trace.

This means that Ella Johnson hasn’t made any consumption during this period, so has she disappeared or died?

It’s impossible. She even had someone take the video and prepare to negotiate with Atlas Hallow, and the only possibility is someone is helping her, helping her hide, and the hiding place is definitely where they haven’t thought of.

”Soon, she’ll come looking for me herself. From now on, she has no way to contact Ava.” Atlas Hallow was not in a hurry now, Ava walked herself into the trap, no wonder anyone, just waiting for Ella Johnson to show up so he can deal with it together.

”Understood, when the time comes, just hand her to me.” Some things Atlas Hallow can’t conveniently handle now, after all, he’s a legitimate businessman, it’s best not to have bloodstains on his hands. He doesn’t mind; he originally lived in this bloody world.

The fragrant aroma of the huadiao wine began to spread in the air, and the housekeeper brought the blue and white porcelain cup, ready to pour when Atlas Hallow’s thin lips gently opened saying with a smile, ”I won’t accompany you drinking this today...”

”Why?” Atlas Hallow liked drinking this wine, it was the best vintage, savoring each sip, how come he’s not drinking it today.

”I can’t drink lately, you wouldn’t understand.” The smile on his lips deepened, Charlotte Miller said they could have a child, she said she agreed.

Thinking about it, his whole heart felt like it was melting, when she agreed, it was as if all the world’s flowers were simultaneously blossoming.

Don’t understand? Little Five was puzzled, is there anything he doesn’t understand?
