Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

It’s still best to go personally. Did he just speak too sternly?

Atlas Hallow stood up and walked out of the office.

”I’m going out for some errands. Don’t wait for me tonight. Let the driver take you home. If you want to go to the mall or a crowded place, you must have someone with you, okay?” He arranged for a driver and a personal bodyguard for Charlotte Miller. Usually, when he’s around, he can fulfill both roles, but if he’s not by her side, she needs to be a bit more cautious because Ella Johnson is still out there and poses some instability.

Charlotte looked up and met Atlas’s gaze for a second, then said with a radiant smile, ”You’re always busy? Should I not check on what you’re doing?”

”No need, you’ve already drained me, so don’t worry. Even if I went to find another woman, I couldn’t do anything.” Atlas looked at Charlotte’s smiling face and couldn’t help but gently kiss the corner of her lips. Checking on him seems completely unnecessary, right?

In her eyes, was he really not trustworthy?

”Are you sure you really can’t do anything?” Charlotte looked doubtfully at Atlas. She had experienced his extraordinary stamina.

She was actually just joking, but seeing Atlas speak so seriously, she couldn’t help but tease.

”If it’s you, then that’s different.” Atlas ruffled Charlotte’s long hair, warning her again as he left: ”You must not be out alone, understand?”

He spoke very earnestly, and Charlotte nodded: ”I know, go ahead.”

”The Foster Family estate is actually very interesting, but no women can appear around him, otherwise, I’d really want to take you to see it.” Atlas said apologetically. The real holiday season was approaching, and he was so busy he couldn’t even spend more time with her.

”It’s not his family that’s interesting; it’s him.” Charlotte watched Atlas leaving in a hurry and mumbled to herself.

The Foster Family’s courtyard was beautiful, not only with exquisite palace lanterns hanging from the eaves but also the Qinghua nine-dragon vase in the courtyard’s pond, housing the most precious koi fish, pure white all over with only a touch of red on its head as brilliant as cinnabar, called the Loulan koi.

The housekeeper looked at the vase, always feeling that one day, not only cups but also such a significant vase would be smashed by the Fifth Young Master. Such a large vase from the Qing Dynasty took a full nineteen days to fire, and with a ”five out of a hundred” rule, meaning at least ninety-five out of every hundred fired were shattered, it became even more precious due to its rarity. Maybe he should secretly move this fish tank elsewhere and replace it with a little bonsai that would be cheaper if smashed?

Looking at the two precious koi, thinking about the situation on the phone with the lady earlier, it seemed he had truly worried too much.

He could still remember the lady’s excited tone: ”A man, is it? That’s good. I thought the Fifth Master would live alone forever; as long as there’s someone he likes, a man would do.”

Now he could understand where the Fifth Young Master’s temperament came from. It seemed like, from childhood, he never lacked anything he desired, but would Cecilia Wilson be willing?

The housekeeper started to have a headache because the lady wanted him to find out where Cecilia lives, and then she wanted to visit.

He wondered if he had made a mistake. Initially, he thought the lady could restrain the Fifth Young Master, but unexpectedly, the lady was more excited than the Fifth Master.

What was happening? What a peculiar family!

If the lady really took action, it would be formidable. In reality, the truly fierce one in the Foster Family was the lady, although she appeared incredibly fragile.

While the housekeeper was still in a daze, Atlas Hallow arrived.

”Young Master Hallow, have you arranged a meeting with the Fifth Master?” The housekeeper hurriedly approached, greeting him politely.

There weren’t many people who could freely enter and exit the Foster Family estate. You could count them on one hand, and Atlas Hallow was one of them.

So whoever came was a distinguished guest of the Fifth Master, and they deserved careful attention.

”No, is he in his room?” Atlas Hallow looked at the usual spot in the courtyard where the Fifth Master often sat, finding it empty. Considering he’s not someone who frequently goes out, he must be in his room?

”I’ll report this to him.” The housekeeper quickly headed upstairs to the Fifth Master’s room, only to be stopped by Atlas Hallow: ”No need, I’ll go up by myself.”

The Fifth Master’s thoughts were hard to guess. He was generous, never needing a promissory note even for enormous sums, but occasionally a word or two could upset him, and his temper would be extraordinary.

A woman’s heart is like an undersea needle; indeed, if a man’s mind is difficult to fathom, it’s even more elusive than an undersea needle.

”Even though you’ve arrived, I can’t hand her over now. So many are looking for her all over; I’ve mobilized my entire Foster network to help you, so you just have to be patient and wait.” The Fifth Master sat up and lazily handed a cigarette to Atlas Hallow.

The room filled with a haze of smoke, and Atlas took a long drag: ”I don’t have much time; I must find her before the New Year.”

Ava Walker had become increasingly bold. People change. The Ava of the past wouldn’t have dared to do these things, coming along with those Hallow Family relatives trying to force him to get Charlotte Miller out. If he hadn’t already uncovered some of Rowan Diaz’s shady dealings, this would truly be quite troublesome this time.

”How do you plan to deal with Amir’s woman?” The Fifth Master’s interest piqued, and he had tea prepared as he wanted to hear how Atlas was planning to handle Ava Walker.

”How I handle it, you said it’s Amir’s, I’ll let Amir handle it.” Atlas spoke calmly, believing Amir Hallow wouldn’t be any softer than him when it came to handling matters.

In the Hallow Family villa, no matter how many people hadn’t returned to live, the servants dared not slack off, and during dinner, the second young master unexpectedly returned.

The housekeeper immediately instructed the kitchen to prepare several dishes the second young master liked, and his favorite egg custard had to be well-steamed.

”Where is she?” Amir was already furious.

Was this woman out of her mind, not living the good life she had, instead choosing to provoke Atlas Hallow’s ire? Since she liked Atlas Hallow in the first place, why didn’t she just directly choose him?

Still putting on airs, thinking Atlas Hallow liked her, truly as if at eighteen, her brain was filled not with brains but with nonsense.

He harshly flung open the room door, only to hear a woman scream from inside.

”What are you doing?” Ava Walker, in the midst of changing clothes, was startled and quickly put on a robe.

”Even if you’re naked, I’m not interested. Don’t overthink it.” Amir walked step by step to Ava, glancing at this alluring woman as if he didn’t even recognize her. Was this the same Ava Walker who grew up with them?

The anger in his chest had no outlet, and suddenly, he backhanded her with a vicious slap, twisting Ava Walker’s face and causing it to swell immediately.

”Are you crazy? Why would you hit me?” Ava stared with wide eyes, incredulously questioning Amir’s ashen face.

”Who’s crazy? You dared to collude with Rowan Diaz’s family to sue the Hallow Clan. What exactly are you trying to do? Your one chance to be a major lady is gone. Who do you think you are, foolishly believing Atlas Hallow would fall for someone like you? You think you’re so pretty, let me tell you, there are plenty of beautiful women outside, cut from whole cars. In the nightclubs, there are prettier ones than you, and I can have them any way I want. What are you?” Amir pinned Ava’s hands mid-air and sneered, ”Trying to hit me? You’re just looking for trouble.”

He applied force to his hands, turning Ava’s face pale, her slender wrist bones seemed about to snap, and cold sweat poured from the pain.

But what she couldn’t accept more was Amir’s words.

These words were a devastating blow to Ava.

”Let go, you bastard...” Ava struggled fiercely but was slapped onto the carpet again, with a bit of blood seeping from the corner of her mouth.

”I’ll call the police; this is domestic violence.” For the first time facing something so terrifying, Ava was horrified by Amir’s fury, trembling as she tried to crawl to get her phone.

”Call the police?” Amir laughed coldly, striding to grab Ava’s handbag, taking out her phone, breaking it in half, and tossing it in front of her: ”From now on, you’re not allowed to go anywhere, stay put ”

He couldn’t believe what he was seeing, someone so foolish as to conspire with outsiders against the Hallow Family?

Such a woman truly deserved this lesson. Previously, they lived in harmony because the video was still in Ella Johnson’s hands, but now it seemed it couldn’t be pressed down any longer. Atlas Hallow probably was prepared to handle this storm, so first, a good lesson for this damn woman. She had it too good these years in the Hallow Family, making her unaware of her own status.

”You want to confine me?” Ava sat dazed on the carpet, her cheeks burning, as tears began to fall...
