Gender-swapped Beautiful Girl, the Godly Rich System Takes Me to New Heights!

235: To make it an ironclad caseLei Jun looked up at the sweating Director, her heart showing little emotion.

She had heard enough official jargon and apologies.

What she needed was substance.

She spoke calmly, ”Director Li, there’s no need for more apologies. Today, my friends and I were nearly blackmailed and extorted to death. After calling the police, we were instead brought here as criminals by your Deputy Director, who attempted to extract a confession through torture.”

”If my Bodyguard didn’t have some ability to protect us, I think you know exactly what the situation would be right now.”

Her tone turned cold. ”What I want to see isn’t an apology, but a just outcome. Those parasites who violate the law and harm the local community must receive their due punishment.”

Director Li nodded repeatedly, the sweat on his forehead growing thicker. ”Yes, yes, yes! Miss Lei is absolutely right! Rest assured! I will immediately order a serious investigation into Liu Jianguo and his gang!”

”Regarding their long-term criminal activities of blackmailing and extorting tourists in the Lovers Cape area, and even using dangerous means to force consumption, we will definitely investigate to the very end!”

”As for Liu Jianguo’s abuse of power, perversion of justice, and attempts at violent forced confessions, we will show no leniency! We will punish him severely according to the law, purge the black sheep, and provide an explanation to Miss Lei and all the victims!”

He patted his chest in guarantee while cautiously watching Lei Jun’s expression.

After listening, Lei Jun’s face remained expressionless. She simply picked up the water Director Wang had poured, took a light sip, and then spoke.

”Director Li, I’ve heard your stance. I will wait and see what the results of your ’serious investigation’ and ’severe punishment’ actually are.”

Her tone was flat, but her meaning was clear.

Words alone are useless; I will be watching your actions.

If the punishment is too light or if they try to gloss over it, this matter won’t end here.

Director Li’s heart tightened, knowing this young lady wasn’t so easy to fool.

He hurriedly said, ”Miss Lei, please give me a little time. I will personally supervise this case immediately! It will be handled with the utmost severity and speed! Additionally, you and your friends were startled today. How about I arrange a place for everyone to have a good rest?”

”Once I have the preliminary results, I will personally come to report to you.”

He wanted to settle Lei Jun first to buy time for the operation, while also turning the case into an ironclad one to satisfy her.

Lei Jun put down her cup and stood up. ”There’s no need to arrange a place. We have our own place to stay. Director Li, as I said, I only care about the results. I hope your actions match the promises you just made.”

After saying that, she spoke no more and nodded to Qin Yu, Lin Xiaoya, and the others.

”Let’s go.”

Director Li and Director Wang didn’t dare stop them. They respectfully escorted Lei Jun’s group all the way to the police station entrance. Only after watching them leave in a taxi did they breathe a long sigh of relief, feeling their clothes soaked through with cold sweat.

But after that relief came boundless pressure and a sense of urgency.

Director Li wiped his face, his eyes turning sharp. He turned to Director Wang and said in a grim tone, ”Wang Zhenguo, from now on, you will fully cooperate with me to form a special task force to investigate Liu Jianguo and his nephew!”

”Start the investigation from the Lovers Cape diving spot! Find as many tourists as possible who were victimized by them! Dig up all the evidence of their illegal activities! Remember, this must be an ironclad case! It must be fast! It must be strict!”

He had to use the fastest speed and the most severe punishment to show Lei Jun his sincerity and capability.

This wasn’t just about his career; it could affect his future and even his safety.

Director Wang straightened up and said, ”Yes, Director, I guarantee the mission will be completed!”

Meanwhile, in the police station’s temporary detention rooms, Liu Jianguo and the Bald Man, who were held separately, had fallen into complete despair.

Liu Jianguo clutched his still-aching wrist, sitting on the cold chair with a face as pale as ash.

He had heard Director Li’s extremely respectful attitude toward Lei Jun and seen how Director Wang and the others treated him like discarded trash.

He knew he was finished.

Not only would he lose his position as Deputy Director, but his past history of accepting kickbacks from his nephew and covering up their crimes would surely be unearthed. Prison time was likely unavoidable.

He regretted it—he regretted it immensely. Why did he throw himself away for that worthless nephew of his?

In the other detention room, the Bald Man was trembling all over with fear.

He had originally fantasized that his uncle could settle everything.

But now, even his uncle couldn’t save himself!

Just what was that Lei Jun’s background?

Even the Municipal Bureau Director was so afraid of her?

Thinking of how he had harassed and insulted Lei Jun and the others underwater and on shore, and recalling his own filthy intentions, he felt a chill rush from the soles of his feet to the top of his head, fear making him almost choke.

He knew that this time he had truly kicked a red-hot iron plate—no, he had crashed into a bronze wall and iron bastion!

His good days were completely over!

...As the taxi drove away from the police station, Lei Jun leaned against the seat back.

The pressure had been applied. Now all that was left to do was wait and see what results that pressure would produce.

Sitting in the back row, Qin Yu let out a long breath, breaking the silence. ”Sister Lei, that was too close just now! That Deputy Director Liu was truly lawless! Fortunately, Sister Lei Ying is amazing!”

His tone was full of lingering fear and relief.

Tony patted his chest.

”Oh, my God! The shock today was too much! However, seeing the bad guys being handcuffed away is truly... truly heart-warming!”

The car returned to the hotel.

For the next two days, Lei Jun’s group didn’t arrange any tight schedules.

After experiencing so much, everyone needed time to calm their minds.

Most of the time they stayed in the hotel, or just took walks on nearby uncrowded beaches and tasted authentic street snacks, deliberately avoiding those popular tourist projects and areas where they might run into trouble... On the afternoon of the second day after they left the police station, Qin Yu was the first to find the explosive news.

”Sister Lei! Lin Xiaoya! Look! The Sanya Public Security Bureau has issued a notice!” Qin Yu excitedly turned his phone screen toward everyone.

They saw that the official social media account and news client of the Sanya Municipal Public Security Bureau had simultaneously released a sternly worded ”Notice on Reporting and Uncovering Clues of Illegal Crimes by Jin Lihong’s Criminal Gang” stamped with a red official seal.

The text of the notice clearly pointed out that in the course of their work, the public security organs discovered that a criminal gang led by Jin Lihong (nicknamed ”Baldy” and ”Brother Crow”) had long been entrenched in the waters of Sanya Corner and Lover’s Bay in the southern sea area of Sanya.

Under the guise of operating diving and photography projects, they actually used threats, intimidation, and even violent means.

The text specifically mentioned ”threatening tourists by forcibly removing their diving equipment.”

They forced tourists to accept high-priced photography and videography services, and were suspected of committing multiple illegal crimes such as forced transactions and extortion, which seriously disrupted the order of Sanya’s tourism market, infringed on the legitimate rights and interests of tourists, and caused an extremely bad social impact.
