Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 1067:- Start of Attack

”When someone receives the title of a National Treasure, it comes with enormous responsibility. The core meaning behind that title is simple. No matter what happens, they are expected to obey the orders of the Emperor and stand behind the Empire in every situation.”

”Their loyalty is not meant to belong to a noble house or even to their own family. Their loyalty belongs to the Royal Crown and the Royal Throne of the Celestial Dragon Empire.”

”Because of this, we can be almost completely certain that the National Treasures who come from noble families that have pledged their loyalty to you will seriously consider supporting your side,” Wahid said calmly.

”Once someone becomes a National Treasure, their first and greatest loyalty no longer belongs to their family or noble house. Their loyalty belongs to the Emperor and the Royal Throne itself.”

”Not even the heads of their own noble houses can simply command them to switch sides and fight according to their family’s political decisions.”

”I am already certain that the noble houses supporting you have contacted the National Treasures who came from their bloodlines and explained the entire situation to them. By now, those National Treasures should already know everything regarding the legitimacy of the throne and the growing civil war.”

”In the end, the final decision rests with them alone.”

”They must choose whether they will continue fighting for the current Emperor, stand behind the exiled Crown Prince, or completely stay out of the civil war altogether.”

”What do you think about the National Treasure who came from the Harrington Faction? Will he fight for the Harrington Faction... or against it?” Boris asked in Aditya’s place.

Hearing this, Wahid slightly smirked.

”We are actually very positive about that situation.”

”The bond within the Harrington Faction is extremely strong. Our faction has always followed one core principle — nothing is thicker than blood.”

”Every member of the Harrington Faction is taught from a young age that they have the responsibility to protect, support, and look after their blood-related family members no matter what happens.”

Wahid’s expression then became slightly more serious.

”Of course, I cannot say anything with complete certainty. I do not know how much influence the Emperor may have had over him during all these years. Hopefully, Ren did not manage to completely brainwash him.”

”But deep down, I still believe there is a high chance that he will choose our side in the end.”

”My dear grandson, don’t worry so much.” Boris appeared completely relaxed.

He flashed a very relaxing smile at Aditya and continued. ”I alone can take on multiple National Treasures.”

”That’s not the point. The point is that dealing with the other remaining National Treasures will be difficult. But I believe, combining our forces and giving our all in this civil war is the only way for us to win this battle.” Aditya and others nodded at Harrington’s words.

Aditya’s expression became serious. ”Grandpa, I have something very important that I must tell you all.”

”What is it?” Harrington still had a gentle smile on his face. It was as if his rich experience that came from living countless years made him feel not worried about what serious thing that Aditya was about to say to him.

Aditya looked at the girls, Alfred, and Boris. Everyone seeing his expression understood what Aditya was about to reveal.

”I don’t know the exact time when this happened. But I believe this was a slow and gradual change in them.”

”Them? Who?” Wahid asked.

”My parents.”

Harrington was still very mad at his daughter and son-in-law. Hearing Aditya’s words, he wanted to say something negative, but Boris’s look shut him off.

”There is a mysterious organisation named the League of Black Tomb. My cousin, Ren, is a member of the Organisation.”

”It was through Ren that they slowly managed to get control over the minds of my parents and turn them into completely different people.”

Hearing this, neither Harrington nor Wahid could sit still.

”Seriously?” Both of them found it too hard to believe. But then again, thinking about the strange changes within his daughter and son-in-law made him feel like Aditya wasn’t lying here.

Aditya nodded his head.

”After Ren became the Emperor, he did things that felt strange to everyone. Such as wiping out the entire Marques family and everyone related to him.”

”As you said, you don’t understand why Ren targeted them. But I believe this was carried out by the orders of the Organisation. The Marques must have become a kind of liability of the organisation.”

Hearing this, Harrington and Wahid looked at each other. Neither of them could believe what they were hearing.

”Ren wanted to be the Emperor. Before I was born, the future Emperor of the Empire was him. But when I was born, I was named the Crown Prince. But he knew that he could not remove me, so he decided to take control of my parents’ minds with the help of the organisation and kick me out.”

”Only from the 10th birthday, my parents slowly started to become cold, distant, and strange.”

”Even when Alfred was falsely accused of a crime that he didn’t commit, my father did not stand up to protect him. Instead, Alfred banished him to a far remote place where he was held alone.”

Aditya then went on to tell everyone everything that the Organisation have done and everything that he knew about the organisation. In the end, Harrington and the rest of the Harrington family looked like they were questioning their very own existence.

”Aditya, before we had to win this civil war. But now, under no circumstances can we afford to lose this civil war. The puppet of the League of Black Tomb must be removed from the throne, and the very presence of the Organisation must be eliminated from every city of the Organisation.”

Aditya decided to drop another bomb on them. ”The Organisation has a habit of planting its scouts. It’s very possible that some of the servants or some soldiers or some of those who work for you or a member or two of the Harrington faction are working as scouts or outer members of the Organisation.”

”There is a very high possibility that some of your men are already working for the organisation.”

*This also means the possibility of the organisation having sensitive information about the Harrington family and the rest of the Harrington faction is really high.” Hearing this, Wahid and Harrington’s expressions became grim. The more they heard about the organisation that more they realised just how dangerous the organisation really was.

”The Organisation must be eliminated as soon as possible.” Harrington saw the Organisation as a cancer of the society of the entire Main Continent and the rest of the world, just like Aditya.

”So we won’t be fighting the Ren alone then.” The Organisation will provide its full support to Ren and his side.

”But the biggest weapon that the Organisation could use against us is their ability to gather secret and sensitive information. Since we have no idea who the scouts of the Organisation are, it’s basically impossible to tell whom to trust.” Wahid became concerned.

”For those reasons, all of my subordinate and their men, and everyone who has access to some form or shape of sensitive information about my Empire needs to sign a soul-binding contract to make sure that they don’t accidentally spill anything to anyone.”

”I suggest you all do the same.”

Hearing this, Wahid’s eyes lit up. His nephew was very smart.

”We will start this process as soon as tonight.” This method would also help them find out the moles of the Harrington Family and the entire faction.

Their discussion lasted several hours. As a result, by the end, they neared the end of the family meeting, it was already dark outside.

Suddenly, everyone heard loud sounds.

”What is happening?” With a wave of his hand, Harrington used wind magic to move the curtains. Outside, it should have been the starry night sky view and the view of the rest of Axel city. But the whole sky was lit up with countless fireworks.

”Who is doing this?” Wahid frowned.

From his question, it became clear that not even the Duke knew that there was any fireworks event in the city. And such a large city-scale firework event cannot be done without taking permission from the City Lord. This means this whole thing was unauthorised. Seeing this, Aditya suddenly had a really bad feeling in his heart.

Aditya suddenly looked at the goddess of wisdom. Just like him, she also had a bad feeling in her heart about this whole thing. In fact, she was even more tense than Aditya.

She was already on her feet and looking outside with a very serious expression.

”What happened?” Rin curiously asked.

”I have a strong feeling that we are under attack.”
