Chapter 670 670:- A Wise Succubus

But while all of this was happening, something strange was happening in the prison of the Istarin Empire.

Click-clack!! Click-clack!!

Nathan quickly walked to the prison once he heard that something was wrong with the guards.

”What is happening?” Nathan asked the Gaurd Captain whose name was Steven, who was in charge of everything in the prison.

”General, those criminals have been acting very strange for a while now. They have been laughing loudly while holding their stomachs and rolling on the ground. Although they are laughing, their expression looks like they were in immense pain.”

”For how long this has been happening?” Nathan asked.

”For around 10 minutes now.”

As they approached the cell of a prisoner, Nathan, Steven, and the other guards following them all heard loud laughing sounds.

Hahahahaha.....!!!!

Nathan became confused seeing one of the 17 remaining prisoners who was locked in his cell alone rolling on the ground while laughing very loudly. At the same time, he was holding his stomach and had an expression that said that he was in pain.

”What food was given them this morning?” Nathan asked.

”Itʼs the usual standard food, Sir.”

”Other prisoners also have eaten the same food but nothing has happened to them in any way. Only these 17 prisoners are behaving this way.” Steven explained. To make sure that no one added anything to the prison food, the food was cooked inside the prison and a few other guards thoroughly observed the whole process.

Many measures were taken to ensure that nothing gets mixed with the food.

Nathan believed what Steven said. After all, Steven was still a member of his Division. Steven also has been an assassin for a while. So he knows that Steven isnʼt the type who would slack off and leave all of his work to his subordinates. If he was that type of person, Nathan never would have appointed Steven as the Guard Captain of the Azure Cityʼs prison.

ʼJust what is going on?ʼ Nathan could not understand what was happening to these 17 remaining prisoners.

”Have you sent someone to inform this His Majesty?” Nathan asked Steven.

”I have.”

”We already have fed them healing pills but it doesnʼt look like the healing pills are working,” Steven added.

”I will go and ask for Lady Riyaʼs help.” Nathan felt this would be the right thing to do.

However, Nathan couldnʼt even take a step when he and Steven noticed that the prisoner before had stopped laughing. He was no longer rolling on the ground. He was just lying on the ground while holding his stomach.

His eyes began to roll back while his face began to turn paler with each passing second.

”Open cell, we will need to take him to Lady Riya right now,” Nathan said in a panicked tone.

Just when Steven was about to open the cell, the prisonerʼs eyes rolled back. The next second his whole body exploded.

Boooom...!!!!

When Steven opened his eyes, he found his whole body was covered in blood and small pieces of flesh and bones. The whole cell was covered in the Prisonerʼs blood, small pieces of bones, and flesh.

”What just happened?” Both Steven and Nathan were dumbfounded. Both looked at each other. Neither of them knew what just happened.

A few minutes later, a few more guards whose bodies were also covered in blood, small pieces of bones, and flesh came to Steven and reported. ”Sir, all the 17 prisoners had died. Their bodies had exploded.”

Steven did not say anything. He just looked at Nathan. It was as if he was silently asking what he should do about this situation.

Sigh....!!!

Nathan suddenly tired. He rubbed his forehead while thinking of what to do in this situation.

”Clean up everything. Try to see if you can find anything suspicious in their cells. I will report this to His Majesty.”

Scene change______

”So this how it all ended.....!!!” Aditya took the news of what had happened to the 17 prisoners.

ʼIt looks like the mastermind behind this all had kind of predicted all of this to happen.ʼ Aditya thought in his mind.

What happened to the 17 prisoners couldnʼt be a coincidence. It was definitely pre-planned by the mastermind.

Maybe instead of meeting Felix, if he had gone to meet the Prisoners with Lilith, then before the Prisoners even died, he could have gotten some answers from them.

But there was no use in regretting what had happened.

”Your Majesty, what should we do now?” Nathan asked.

”Nathan, search for any similar cases that may have happened in the Dying Isle Continent in the past. If necessary ask our allies for help on this matter.” Aditya commanded.

”Understood...!!” Nathan seriously nodded his head.

”One more thing before you leave, take this with you.” Aditya put a map of the southern region on the table so that Nathan could see.

”May I ask....!!”

Knowing what he was about to ask, Aditya answered. ”The red dots on this map are the locations of the hidden criminal organizations in the southern region.” Hearing this Nathan seriously began looking at the map.

”Nathan, do you know how I acquired this map?” Aditya asked to which Nathan shook his head.

”I got this map from a merchant named Felix. I mean sure you must have heard of him.” Nathan nodded his head. Back when Nathan still was an Assassin, there were many who were after Felixʼs life.

”Do you know how I see this map?” Aditya asked.

Nathan did not reply.

”When I was shown this map, I realized just how much our information-gathering network was lacking. At the same time, I canʼt deny that I wasnʼt a little bit disappointed since I always assumed that the Shadow Guardian had the best information-

gathering network within the six continents.” Hearing this Natha lowered his head as if accepting his mistakes.

”Raise your head, Nathan. I am not blaming you for anything.” Aditya commanded.

Nathan looked at Aditya. ”The fact that in just little over a year, you managed to build the entire Shadow Guardian on your own with little to no experience and expand it in all directions is very admirable. I find that very admirable. Compared to Felix who had countless years to build his network, we only started just over a year ago. So I donʼt see any reason for you to be discouraged. Donʼt blame yourself.” Adityaʼs intention was to motivate Nathan by showing the map and speaking of Felix. But that did not mean he wanted Nathan to overwork himself.

”I know that as long as given time, the Shadow Guardian will have the best information-gathering network in the whole world.” Nathan also nodded his head in agreement.

”Nathan, send your men to these locations.”

”Your Majesty, if you wish I will personally go to these locations.”

”There would be no need. Sending you would be overkill. Let the inexperienced members of your division do the job. That way, they could gain valuable experience.” Nathan silently nodded his head.

”You can leave now. If you find anything then donʼt hesitate to contact me.” Nathan nodded his head before he silently disappeared from Adityaʼs view.

Once Nathan left, Adityaʼs expression became very serious. ʼI must ask Spencer to increase the security around the entire Azure City for the next few weeks.ʼ Aditya thought in his head.

”What are you thinking?” Lilith appeared next to Aditya. She pressed her soft body against his arm and then asked him in a whispering tone.

”Nothing much....!!” Although Nathan was unable to sense Lilith but Aditya was able to sense her. This whole time, she had been listening to their conversations.

”You look troubled?” Lilith gently while as she began caressing his face.

Aditya looked at her. He wanted to lie and say no but when he met gaze, he was unable to lie to her. ”I am troubled by what happened.”

Lilith gently hugged Aditya. It was just a normal hug. Aditya also hugged her back.

”A long time ago I heard a wise Succubus once say, ʼDo not worry about things that you have no control of.ʼ You had no control of this event. So donʼt worry so much. Everything will be fine.”

Hearing her words, Aditya smiled before he tightly hugged her and then closed his eyes while burying his face on her right shoulder.

”Whoever said that sentence was definitely lying to you,” Aditya said while laughing.

Hearing this Lilith was unhappy. She pouted and asked. ”Why do you think so?”

”First of all, Succubus cannot be wise.” Lilith was even more unhappy.

”I am wise....!! I am very smart.” She said while pouting.

”The only thing that a Succubus thinks about is.....!!” Aditya did not say the last part but Lilith understood.

The next second both of them stared at each otherʼs faces and then started laughing.

”Hahaha.......!!”
