THE SYSTEM IS NOT MINE

”What happened, old man? Did you see a ghost?” Yan asked.

When the old man’s eyes fell on Yan, ”It’s you,” he took a few steps back.

”Yes, it’s me.”

”And I am not a ghost,” Yan replied.

” How come you did not get caught? ” The old man asked.

”Mm.. apparently, Sir Chu Feng liked me” Yan said, ”Don’t worry, he liked me enough to pardon our infiltration” Yan said.

The old man blinked as he could not believe it, there was no way Chu Feng would forgive such a thing as he had heard some rumours that those who attacked him would never be seen outside the world again.

Time passed, a few more hours passed, and no one came to get them out.

Still, the old man was walking around the room to and fro, from one edge to the other, while occasionally rubbing his fingers at each other.

Then the old man secretly thought, ” Never knew Sir Chu Feng liked men.”

”Old man, stop running around; everything is fine.” Yan’s voice brought the old man out of thought as he looked over the person lying on the bed.

”Fine? I was just a guy passing by the wagon, and you are the devil that dragged me here,” The Old man complained.

”Old man? How am I the devil?”

”Isn’t it you who agreed to come along?” Yan said.

”You...” The old man halted and glared at Yan but could not come up with anything to say as he was the one who agreed initially to come along but he never thought that it would become such a mess.

”Old man, my name is Yan. What’s yours? ” Yan asked.

”Cia Nu” The Old man said.

”Let’s work together, I will introduce you to Chu Feng as well” Yan said.

Hearing Yan, the old man’s fingers tightened and he took two steps back.

”Old man, what’s wrong ?” Yan noticed his odd behaviour.

”Ahem..I am an old guy, I don’t have the power ”the old man replied.

Yan stood up and came near the old man, and said ”Cia Nu, it’s fine, I can understand”

The old man breathed in relief.

The rest of the day passed, meals were brought by a guard to their room and then they slept. While Yan slept on the bed, the old man slept on the floor.

Meanwhile, Mutai and Chu Feng were facing each other in another room as Chu Feng sat on a chair holding a letter in his hand.

”Sir Chu Feng, why do you offer him the work when you don’t trust him?” Mutai bowed and looked at Chu Feng trying to understand the logic behind his decision.

Having a man as dangerous as Yan nearby is not something anyone dared to do.

”He is useful,” Chu Feng replied.

Mutai bowed and said, ”Understood, but what if he betrayed us”

“I have already shown him what happens to those who betray me. Besides, I trust you more. You can easily take care of him if necessary.” Chu Feng said and then looked at the contents of the letter in his hand.

”Tomorrow, we will be visiting our black friends, let’s bring him along, ” Chu Feng said.

”But he is a mortal” Mutai said.

”I don’t think so, ” Chu Feng said, looking at the letter in his hand.

Mutai did not question further, but he realised that he had underestimated Yan and knew he had to be careful around him.

The next day..

Knock knock...Shui.. you up?

A voice came from outside.

”Shui?”

The old man who heard Shui got confused but it did not last long as Yan walked towards the door, said, ”Yes, coming.” and went out.

When Yan arrived outside.

”Shui, the driver of the wagon, woke up yesterday. We have sent him away assuring him that you are our man”

Mutai said and this one was heard by Cia Nu from inside who was leaning closer to the door, his confusion only increased.

”Thank you for that,” Yan replied.

”Well, Yan I am wondering if you are interested in coming with me to distribute the grain, I remember now that you were one of the beggars who took grain from me when those black guys attacked.”

Mutai said.

”Sure” Yan replied and went along with Mutai.

The grain sacks were piled up in the courtyard, the poor arrived with their utensils to get it.

Again Mutai came forward to distribute, the grain distribution took hours to complete.

Then Chu Feng appeared in the courtyard, and said ”Mutai, it’s about time”

”Yes, Sir.” Mutai replied then he went back inside the mansion came out with his Giant Axe and armor, Mutai looked at Yan and said ”Shui, do you remember the black men that attacked us the first day, we have got opportunity to get rid of them, me and Sir Chu Feng will be leaving for a while to get rid of them for good, would you be interested to tag along?”

Yan nodded and then he turned towards Chu Feng and said, ”I want to come along.”

”Sure, you can,” Chu Feng replied and then turned to Mutai, ”Mutai, get a shield for our guest.”

”Yes, sir.” Mutai replied and looked towards one of the guards. The guard immediately went inside the mansion and came back with an iron giant shield which looked to be heavy at first glance.

But when Yan lifted it up, he noticed that the weight was not much different from normal shields. On the top of the shield there was a tiny emblem of a half leaf.

Under the emblem, Hafia was written.

Yan then remembered Ren’s promise.

Then Chu Feng, Mutai and Yan left the mansion on foot they travelled through the streets of Trade Miller City.

Whenever they encountered the poor, they bowed towards Chu Feng.

Some people followed the trio, and kept a certain distance.

They continued to walk until they stood beside each other outside a three-floor wooden house, beside a two-floor stone house, which looked to be abandoned.

”What do you think Chu Feng is doing here? Isn’t that house where no one stays?” One of the men of other merchants in the city, who followed him, asked the person beside him?”

”I have no idea” the person replied.

”Chu Feng, you are an idiot and you really came, you should have just stayed in your mansion.” Right then, a voice came out from inside the abandoned house.

Then a figure wearing a black dress and a face covered with white cloth stepped out onto the balcony of the second floor of the house.

”For a humble merchant like me, it’s an honour to receive the Commander of Shin”, Chu Feng looked up.

”So you did your investigation, but still came along with only one guard and a man behind the shield when I asked you to bring all your manpower. Pathetic. Do you think you can walk out alive today?” The Shin Commander shouted.

”Let’s see if I can walk out alive today,” Chu Feng replied.

As soon as Chu Feng replied, the Shin Commander shouted, ” Attack.”

Multiple spiritual qi formation auras erupted from the building, along with two core formation auras simultaneously.

People in black clothes with faces covered with white cloth appeared from the roof to the bottom of the building, everywhere.

The men on the roof and on higher-floor balconies raised their swords and jumped down directly towards Chu Feng.

Mutai lifted the giant axe and kept it on his back.
