The Sinful Young Master

Chapter 135 Standing against a god

Dakrasuer watched Jolthar, his glowing eyes burning with an almost childlike curiosity. ”He will become a doom that even you all humans wonʼt be able to stop.”

Jolthar didnʼt understand what he was saying, but he must really know Qalena and the power of ascendant, what it meant. His words made me think about the power he wielded. But he didnʼt show it on his face.

He forced himself to stand, his legs shaky but steadying as he gripped Horgath tightly once more. The Chaosword hummed in response, chaos aura intertwining with the faint remnants of dark energies of Voidwrath power still lingering in Joltharʼs veins.

Dakrasuerʼs grin widened. ”Ah, so it does. I see it in your expression. She marked you, didnʼt she?”

He straightened to his full height, towering over Jolthar like a mountain casting its shadow over a lone tree. ”I must admit, you intrigue me, mortal. You carry a spark of something ancient, something divine. Yet here you are, a mere pawn in this pitiful little squabble.”

Joltharʼs grip on his sword tightened, his knuckles turning white. He raised his head to meet Dakrasuerʼs gaze, defiance burning in his eyes. ”I am no pawn,” he spat, his voice hoarse but resolute.

”And I donʼt care who or what you are. If you stand in my way, Iʼll cut you down.”

The godʼs laughter boomed across the battlefield, shaking the earth beneath their feet. ”Such boldness!” he exclaimed.

”But boldness without strength is folly. And I am going to smash you into pulp and take you to her.”

Without warning, Dakrasuer lunged, his massive hand reaching for Jolthar once more. But this time, Jolthar was ready.

Summoning every ounce of his remaining strength, he infused Horgath with the voidwrath energy coursing through him. The blade glowed with the chaos aura, a volatile light, as he swung it upward in a wide arc.

The clash of their forces sent a shockwave rippling through the air. Horgathʼs chaos-infused edge met Dakrasuerʼs divine aura, creating a blinding burst of energy that momentarily obscured the battlefield. When the light faded, Jolthar stood his ground, his sword still raised, while Dakrasuer took a single step back, his expression one of mild surprise.

”A scratch,” Dakrasuer muttered, glancing at the faint line on his forearm where Horgath had struck. ”Impressive. Very few have ever managed to leave even the slightest mark on me.”

Voidwrath, in its own right, was a very powerful energy and belonged to a goddess, and it was being mixed with the chaos aura; the result of their combination was destructive and explosive. But it was nowhere near enough to harm a god.

Jolthar didnʼt respond. His breathing was laboured, his body screaming in protest from the exertion. But he refused to back down. He raised Horgath again, the blade trembling slightly in his grasp. The godʼs aura was all suppressing him, solely focused on him to crush him.

He spat a handful of blood on the ground; unable to hold his ground, he stood with the help of his sword, leaning against Horgath.

Dakrasuerʼs amusement faded, replaced by a more serious demeanor. ”You are persistent, Iʼll give you that,” he said. ”But persistence alone wonʼt save you.”

With a flick of his wrist, the god unleashed a wave of energy that hurtled toward Jolthar with the force of a tidal wave.

Johamma moved instinctively, stepping in front of Jolthar and raising her hands to conjure a barrier. The wave crashed against it, sending sparks flying, but the barrier held.

”Eager to die, old hag,” Dakrasuer sneered, his tone carrying a hint of warning. ”Wait until itʼs your turn.”

”I must kill that boy now before they come.”

Segarus was fully confused and astonished as to why Dakrasuer was behaving in such a way. He didnʼt understand why he was trying to kill the body so as to even dare go against the ultimate rule of the gods.

”Over my dead body,” she shot back, her voice steady despite the strain of maintaining the barrier. She turned her head slightly to address Jolthar. ”Youʼre not ready for this fight. Fall back.”

But Jolthar shook his head, stepping out from behind her. ”No,” he said firmly. ”This is my fight. I wonʼt run away.” Even if he did, it was a god who he was up against. He would catch up in no time and kill him.

And he knew he just needed to hold his ground until she intervened; even Dakrasuer was talking about her. Jolthar was aware that gods should not meddle in the matters of mortals, much less kill them. He was sure that Dakrasuer was aware of that fact; still, he was coming after him.

His whole body felt like it was pierced with needles under the intense aura of Dakrasuer. Jolthar summoned every ounce of his power, all of his energies.

Before Johamma could protest, Jolthar surged forward, channelling every ounce of his power into a single, desperate strike. Horgath roared with chaos aura infused with voidwrath energy, its blade vibrating as if alive. He swung it with all his might, aiming for Dakrasuerʼs heart.

The god caught the blade with his bare hand.

Time seemed to freeze as Dakrasuer held the Chaosword in his grasp, its dark energy writhing and sparking against his divine aura. For a moment, it seemed as though he might crush the blade entirely. But then his expression changed.

”Voidwrath,” he clicked his tongue.

Jolthar gritted his teeth, struggling to free his sword from Dakrasuerʼs grasp. ”Let… go!” he growled, pouring more energy into the blade. The Voidwrathʼs power surged, intertwining with the chaos aura in a volatile dance.

Dakrasuerʼs grip faltered for the briefest of moments, allowing Jolthar to pull Horgath free. The god took a step back, his expression unreadable. ”Interesting,” he said, almost to himself. ”Very interesting.”

He could tell that Jolthar had made the power of Voidwrath completely his, absorbed into his very being, and he controlled the power just like her. And the chaos aura, he knew very well how destructive a force it was. Mixing them both was giving an edge to Jolthar, but it was dangerous to him, and Jolthar seemed to not care about that fact.

Time was running out for Dakrasuer; they must have noticed already, he thought.

Despite his determination, Jolthar could feel his strength waning. His vision blurred, his limbs felt heavy, and his breaths came in ragged gasps. But he refused to stop.

Dakrasuer, however, remained unyielding. With a single wave of his hand, he sent Jolthar sprawling to the ground. The Chaosword slipped from his grasp, embedding itself in the dirt several feet away.

”This is the end.”

When he sent another wave of energy outburst aimed at Jolthar, Caelum stepped in, swinging his sword, performing the infernal radiance.

The energy beam was cut into two and struck the ground beside them; a loud quake occurred, making everyone stumble and lose their balance. Caelum stood protectively in front of Jolthar, ready to face Dakrasuer head-on. Even he could feel the tremors in his sword as he cut the energy.

Segarus was surprised to see Caelum was able to cut the attack of a god, not a deity but a god. Just how powerful was he? Caelum was just a step away from becoming a deity himself, and his aura was almost equal to that of the deity now itself.

And Dakrasuerʼs power was limited because he was present in the human realm.

Caelum looked at the being before him with an apprehensive look. But he didnʼt falter; he wouldnʼt let his nephew be killed right in front of him.

Your journey continues at empire

Johamma stood beside him, protecting Jolthar, who was coughing blood; he was in a worse state. The internal energy clash of chaos aura and voidwrath was intense, but he was trying to suppress it. They were both destructive and unpredictable forces, threatening to tear apart everything in their path.

Just when Dakrasuer was about to attack them, he felt a presence, and he immediately stopped in his tracks. A golden light shot towards Dakrasuer and wrapped around him, imprisoning him.

Nobody or no being was revealed, but in the next instant, Dakrasuer was dragged back into the heavens.

”Damn you!! Let me out. What was that bitch thinking, making him the ascendant? AHH!!!” Dakrasuer struggled against the bindings of the golden chains wrapped around him, and he was dragged into the golden light, he looked back towards Jolthar, who was in a worse state.

He laughed out loud, ”At least that brat will be killed.” His laugh echoed in the clouds after he disappeared, and the golden light too faded into the night clouds.

His oppressive divine aura disappeared from the grounds, and everybody could breathe again, they just stood in stunned silence, unable to believe what just happened.

It felt like a dream, far from the reality they knew. The only evidence of the encounter was Jolthar lying on the ground.
