The Sinful Young Master

Chapter 134 Power of Ascendant

”Dakrasuer,” Johamma muttered, her voice carrying the weight of ages. She looked at him, recognizing him immediately.

But the rest of them were unaware of who he was, staring at him with great terror in their eyes. Because of his immense divine presence, it was unbearable for them.

Not all of them; Caelum, who had regained colour to his face, frowned watching him; his mother seemed to know the person, and from what he could tell, that person wasnʼt human.

Segarus was visibly paled, and his shoulders stiffened.

Everyone was frozen in their place. Jolthar, still, his instincts hadnʼt calmed down; it was like he wanted to run, but he wasnʼt able to.

That being appeared beside Segarus instantly, shocking him, Lorryll, and Liliana too. She and Lorryll stood rooted to their spot, watching that being hold Segarus in place.

”What were you thinking? If I was just a bit late, he would have fallen into a trance and started his tribulation,” Dakrasuer said nonchalantly, but Segarusʼ eyes widened in shock; he turned to Caelum, who was looking at them curiously.

”What! I mean, how was he able to… I was about to kill him,” Segarus said, his voice barely audible.

”Then you should have right after he showed his weakness, you stupid mortal.”

They were talking as if nobody was present here and everyone was watching them, curious, confused, and terrified too.

Dacrasuerʼs voice suddenly turned serious as he said, ”I gave you the task to finish this family off as soon as possible, but all you have done is cause more mess. If it werenʼt for him, I would have decimated them a long time ago.”

He turned to face the Kaezhlar family, and Johamma suddenly burst out, ”You dare show yourself here? After all that has passed, you still scheme from the shadows?”

Amusement flickered in Dakrasuerʼs golden eyes. ”Schemes, Johamma? I was just curious, so I came to look; thatʼs all there is to it.”

”My apologies, I forgot to ask how you are faring in the mortal realm.” He taunted her, his voice filled with mockery and arrogance.

Johammaʼs gaze hardened as she turned to Segarus, then back to Aurin. ”So, this was your doing? Manipulating mortals to destroy each other in your name? Youʼre no god, Dakrasuer. Youʼre a coward hiding behind divine pretence.”

Dakrasuerʼs expression darkened. ”Watch your tongue, fallen one. You may no longer stand in the heavens, but I remain your superior. Or have you forgotten why you were cast down?”

Johamma clenched her fists, her eyes blazing with defiance; she spat, ”He will not let this slide if you interfere in mortal affairs.”

Dakrasuerʼs face turned grim, and he seemed to know who she was referring to. He sighed and said, ”I will not be the reason for your downfall. But you will certainly fall, and he will not be able to do anything.”

Elowen and other Kaezhlar clan members werenʼt able to process what they were talking about, and the ʼheʼ they mentioned—who was he? She was talking as if she knew him and had a conflict with him.

While Caelum was having different thoughts, he had never seen her this angry before. He knew the truth about her, but that being, he didnʼt know about the mysterious ʼheʼ she was referring to.

As if a shift in the winds carried a subtle warning, Dakrasuerʼs attention snapped away from her. His piercing gaze settled on a figure standing near Johamma. His golden eyes narrowed, scrutinising the young man as though peeling away layers of reality itself. He was attracted by the power oozing from him.

A sudden spark of recognition flashed in his mystical eyes, followed by a grim expression. He was extremely serious as his power flooded the entire area, like a maelstrom.

Everyone in the vicinity was hit by a wave of sharp winds, pushed back.

Without a word, Dakrasuer vanished from his spot and materialized directly before Jolthar, his towering form casting an imposing shadow. Standing at an intimidating nine feet, his very presence exuded dominance.

Before anyone could react, his massive hand shot out, wrapping around Joltharʼs throat with effortless precision. The sheer speed of the move left everyone in the area frozen in shock.

Joltharʼs body was lifted off the ground as though he weighed nothing. His boots dangled inches above the scorched earth, and his hands instinctively clawed at the iron grip around his neck.

A strangled gasp escaped his lips as he struggled to breathe.

The gathered clan members and even the red mages looked on in stunned silence.

Johamma caught by surprise, felt her breath hitch. Her eyes widened, disbelief etched into her features. Even Caelum, his expression hardening in alarm.

Dakrasuer tilted his head slightly, studying Jolthar as though examining a curious artefact. His lips curled into a cruel smile, but his voice carried an odd, almost playful tone.

”Waaah! What do we have here?” His words reverberated with a deep, resonant power that sent chills through everyone who heard them.

His golden gaze flickered toward Johamma, and a glimmer of mockery danced in his eyes. ”Johamma,” he said, drawing out her name with deliberate slowness, ”I didnʼt know such a special child resided within your little clan. Hidden away like a secret treasure. How fascinating!” He let out a theatrical sigh of exasperation, his amusement giving way to something far darker. ”Ah, all the more reason to kill you all. Such potential wasted on this wretched family.”

Joltharʼs eyes blazed with defiance, even as his air supply dwindled. He gritted his teeth, struggling against the overwhelming force holding him.

Summoning every ounce of his strength, he reached for the Chaosbane at his side. The blade hummed to life, its chaos aura swirling as though eager to strike.

Dakrasuer watched him with a bemused expression, not even flinching as Jolthar swung the blade toward the hand that held him. A distorted sound reverberated as the blade sliced through the air.

The Chaosbane struck true, its edge infused with Joltharʼs raw chaos aura. A dark ripple of energy spread outward from the point of contact, resonating with a low, ominous hum.

For a moment, time seemed to stand still.

The blade left the faintest scratch on Dakrasuerʼs hand—a mark so insignificant it might as well not have existed. But then, Jolthar called upon the voidwrath within him, a power so ancient and volatile that the air around him grew cold, and the light seemed to dim. His aura flared brilliantly, the chaotic energy intertwining with the voidʼs unearthly essence.

With a roar of determination, Jolthar swung again, this time directing the full force of his voidwrath infused Chaosbane toward Dakrasuerʼs wrist.

The strike landed, sending a crackling surge of energy spiralling outwards.

Dakrasuerʼs eyes widened slightly—not in pain, but in recognition. The scratch deepened marginally, and for the first time, the godʼs grip faltered.

With an annoyed grunt, he released Jolthar, who dropped to the ground like a stone.

Jolthar landed hard, collapsing to his knees as he gasped for air. He clutched his throat, his breaths coming in ragged, desperate gulps. The Chaosbane trembled in his grip, the voidwrath within it still pulsing faintly. Sweat dripped from his brow, and his vision blurred, but he forced himself to remain upright.

Johamma was at his side in an instant, her hands steady despite the storm raging in her chest. She knelt beside him, her sharp eyes scanning him for injuries. ”Jolthar,” she said softly, her voice a mixture of relief and urgency.

”Are you all right?” Her fingers brushed his shoulder, grounding him.

Jolthar nodded weakly, his voice hoarse as he replied, ”Iʼm fine... I just need a moment.”

Above them, Dakrasuer studied the faint scratch on his hand with mild interest. He flexed his fingers, watching as the mark slowly faded, leaving his skin unblemished once more. His golden eyes narrowed, his gaze shifting back to Jolthar.

”That power...” Dakrasuer murmured, his tone losing its playful edge. ”You, where did you get that power?”

Jolthar remained silent; he could tell that he recognised it.

”Power of Ascendant, I canʼt believe a child wielding its power,” Dakrasuer muttered, observing Jolthar with deep thought. His thoughts ran back to the woman who was responsible for it. He could see her power on him, the faint scent of her attached to him.

He remained frozen for a moment, and then said, ”Child, you should not exist anymore. Even if they all come, I must kill you today.”

The atmosphere grew heavier as Dakrasuerʼs ominous presence suffused the battlefield. His aura pulsated like a storm barely contained, ripples of divine energy radiating outward and shaking the ground.

Johammaʼs hands trembled slightly as she gripped his shoulders, her eyes darting between him and Dakrasuer. The godʼs presence brought forth an overwhelming sense of dread, a suffocating weight.

Johamma stiffened, her lips pressing into a thin line. ”Leave him alone, Dakrasuer,” she said firmly, though her voice carried a tremor.

The god chuckled, a sound that sent chills down the spines of all who heard it. ”Oh, but he is. You donʼt know what he is; he shouldnʼt exist in this realm.”
