The Sinful Young Master

Chapter 133 A divine beingʼs interference

Up in the air, the fight pressed on, and Caelum slashed his sword downward, releasing a wave of silvery energy that shot toward Segarus like a tidal wave.

Segarus reacted instantly, raising a barrier of his own. The energy wave struck with a deafening roar, its force sending shockwaves through the sky. The barrier held, but Segarus was pushed back, his expression momentarily faltering.

”It seems I am still lacking even with the artefacts,” Segarus said, regaining his composure. ”If I want to kill you, I should go all out then.”

”I didnʼt want to resort to using this, but I have no choice.” Then he took another scroll from his sleeve, and it was different from the earlier one, and it was all wrinkled and looked red in colourr.

He extended his arms, and the air around him darkened. Black and red-coloured shadows began to gather, coalescing into a massive, writhing mass of darkness. The shadows took shape, forming a colossal beast with glowing red eyes and razor-sharp claws. The shadows gave off an eerie sensation to whoever watched it, and the air suddenly turned so cold with clouds turning darker and thicker.

The creature had no definite shape and let out a bone-chilling roar, its very presence exuding an aura of dread.

The beast lunged at Caelum, its claws slashing through the air with terrifying speed.

Caelum met the attack head-on, his sword clashing against the beastʼs claws in a shower of sparks. The force of the impact sent ripples through the air, but Caelum held his ground.

The battle between man and beast raged on, their movements a blur of light and shadow. Caelumʼs swordsmanship was unparalleled, each strike precise and devastating. But the beast was relentless, its claws and teeth striking with unyielding ferocity. He wielded his ocuelas skilfully, channelling the power of the ancient weapon to enhance his attacks. It was a sword handed down to the patriarchs, made from the great sword smiths of immemorial time. It was one of the clanʼs greatest treasures, and Caelum knew exactly how to wield its power. It helped him through countless battles.

Finally, with a powerful upward slash, Caelum severed the beastʼs head.

Silverstream Cut.

He performed a second form of his Heavenʼs wrath.

And the effect was immediate; unlike the first form, it was fast and precise, striking its target in the blink of an eye.

The creature disintegrated into shadows, its remnants scattering like smoke in the wind.

Caelum breathed heavily; the shadow creature did damage to his strength.

Segarus didnʼt seem bothered by the loss of his creation. In fact, he looked almost amused. ”Youʼre quite the warrior, Caelum. But it wasnʼt to kill you, though; the effects will show up soon,” Segarus said, watching the confused Caelum.

He raised his hands to the sky, and the clouds above began to churn.

Caelum narrowed his eyes. He could feel the shift in power, the surge of energy that made Segarus even more dangerous.

The two men charged at each other, their movements blurring as they clashed in midair.

Each strike sent shockwaves rippling through the sky, the force of their battle shaking the very earth below. Spells and sword strikes collided in a symphony of destruction, the air around them crackling with raw energy.

The battle continued to escalate, their attacks growing more and more powerful. The ground below was scarred by their stray attacks, the once-pristine estate now a wasteland of craters and rubble.

Despite the intensity of the battle, neither man showed any signs of backing down. They were evenly matched, their power and skill pushing each other to their limits.

But Caelum wasnʼt fighting for himself. He was fighting for his family, his clan, and everything he had built.

And that gave him the edge he needed.

Just as Caelum was about to move toward Segarus, his body convulsed violently.

A cough tore through him, and with it, he spat out a thick spray of blood. His steps faltered, and he staggered back, clutching his chest as though something unseen clawed at his heart.

The pain was unbearable, an invasive presence writhing deep within him. He gritted his teeth, his eyes narrowing as his mind raced.

kekekeeke!

Thatʼs when Segarusʼs triumphant, mocking laughter echoed across the battlefield.

Everyone turned toward him, the tension in the air thickening.

Above them, the sky seemed to darken as Caelum dropped to the ground, crashing.

For the first time, the unyielding warrior showed a vulnerability that struck fear into the hearts of his allies.

Segarusʼs laughter grew louder, his expression a mixture of glee and malice. He sneered, his voice dripping with cruelty.

”Shadow wasnʼt just a beast, Caelum,” Segarus taunted, his eyes gleaming with sadistic delight. ”Itʼs my masterpiece, my ultimate weapon against you. A top-tier skill that will consume you from within.”

He gestured toward the battlefield, his grin widening.

”And while you fight it, helpless and broken, I will slaughter every last member of your family. One by one, theyʼll fall before your eyes. And then... Iʼll end you.”

Johamma, who had been confident all this time, felt her certainty waver. Her fists clenched, her gaze darting toward Caelum, who now looked like a man fighting an invisible enemy.

Jolthar, on the other hand, stood still, his brow furrowed deeply. He watched the faint, almost imperceptible traces of black mist swirling around Caelumʼs form like ghostly chains.

Caelum gripped his sword tightly, his knuckles white with strain.

Despite the agony wracking his body, he forced himself upright, every movement slow and deliberate. The battlefield fell silent, all eyes locked on him. Segarus continued to gloat, his voice grating as he revelled in Caelumʼs apparent helplessness.

But as Segarus indulged in his victory, Caelumʼs gaze shifted toward his family. The sight of their fear, their hope placed entirely in him, ignited something primal deep within his soul. The thought of Segarusʼs words—the image of his family slaughtered—unleashed a torrent of emotions: betrayal, rage, anguish.

It was no longer just anger; it was a storm of fury burning inside him, hotter and fiercer than any fire. His chest heaved as the intensity of his rage threatened to consume him. He could feel the shadowy presence inside him trying to pull him into oblivion, but he resisted, standing on the edge of losing himself entirely.

Jolthar, who had been watching closely, suddenly felt a chill run down his spine.

It wasnʼt fear—it was instinct, a primal warning screaming in his mind. He turned his head sharply, his gaze locking onto a distant point on the horizon.

Something was coming, something immense and unexplainable.

He didnʼt know what or who it was, but his insides screamed of something far more dangerous than anything he had witnessed till now.

He wasnʼt alone in his reaction.

Johamma, too, felt it—a shift in the air, an oppressive weight descending upon the battlefield. Both of them stared into the distance, their breaths caught in their throats.

The black mist that had been suffocating Caelum began to dissipate. It didnʼt fade slowly; it evaporated in an instant, as though obliterated by an unseen force.

Caelumʼs form straightened, his movements now unnervingly calm. The fire in his eyes burned brighter than ever, and the aura around him became heavy, almost suffocating.

The battlefield froze, the fighters on both sides holding their breath.

Segarusʼs smug grin faltered, his eyes narrowing as he sensed the shift.

Jolthar gripped Horgath tightly, his instincts screaming louder than ever.

Whatever was happening, it was far from over.

The air around them thickened with an unfamiliar energy—an overwhelming, divine presence that made even the most powerful combatants falter.

A blinding light engulfed the skies, parting the dark clouds like a celestial curtain.

From within the radiance emerged a figure of unimaginable majesty—a tall, golden-clad being with an aura that shimmered like molten sunlight. His face was both serene and terrifying, the kind that inspired both reverence and dread. His piercing eyes, glowing like twin suns, scanned the battlefield as if he were a judge arriving to preside over mortal affairs.

The fighting came to a standstill.

Even Caelum paused, his blade still poised to strike.

Below, the remnants of the clan and the Naemarys forces stopped in their tracks, staring up at the figure with awe and fear.

Johammaʼs expression froze. Her usually calm and composed demeanour shattered as recognition dawned upon her.

She whispered, almost inaudibly, ”No... it cannot be.”

The figure turned his gaze downward, locking eyes with Johamma. A faint smile played across his lips, but it wasnʼt one of kindness—it was laced with knowing malice.

”Johamma,” the figure said, his voice resonating like a thousand chimes echoing across the sky. ”It has been years since I last saw you. And yet, here you are, mingling with mortals. How far youʼve fallen.”

The colour drained from Johammaʼs face. Her fists clenched as memories long buried resurfaced. She took a step forward, her voice steady but laced with an undercurrent of bitterness.
