Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Returning to the sect having replaced his disciple with an older man at the Peak of the First Tribulation of the Soul Ascension Realm, Xuan Hao wasted no time in dragging the other party to the ascension realm tower after making sure that he was prepared to take on the second tribulation. Wanting to see first-hand if the ascension secret realm really did have some benefit that he hadn’t been able to see through with his current strength.

As for the elder who had found himself dragged into the desolate rock world that was the ascension secret realm… He didn’t complain in the slightest. Understanding full well that someone like Xuan Hao wouldn’t try to trick him into taking the second tribulation just to see him suffer.

It was for this reason that outside of not complaining about being seemingly dragged off by Xuan Hao, he was secretly feeling excited on the inside after learning that he would be going somewhere that could potentially help increase his chances of overcoming the second tribulation.

Even if the place itself looked desolate without any signs of life, he didn’t doubt when Xuan Hao had told him that this was the place that could potentially help increase his chances of overcoming the second tribulation.

In case it couldn’t help him, it was at least a secluded location within the Shattered Star Peaks under the protection of the sect. A perfect location for breaking through. Not to mention, should anything go wrong, he had a powerful senior like Xuan Hao watching over him, something he was certain was far more beneficial compared to breaking through on his own.

After all, even if Xuan Hao couldn’t lend him a hand in overcoming the second tribulation, he was still more than capable of guiding him from the side, something that would undoubtedly increase his chances of overcoming the second tribulation on its own.

Finding somewhere to sit down, he received a short lecture from Xuan Hao on the Immortal Soul Tribulation and the tribulation he was going to face, the tribulation of earthen lightning.

Although he had already prepared for this tribulation ahead of time by learning different body strengthening techniques and finding rare spiritual herbs that would help strengthen his physical body ever since joining the Star Shattering Sect, the short lecture from Xuan Hao on the tribulation still brought forth improvements in how to deal with the tribulation of earthen lightning.

By the time the lecture had finished, there was nothing more for him to prepare for, as he closed his eyes and entered a state of deep meditation, a final preparation for the tribulation and at the same time also a state that would actively draw out the tribulation. Meaning that he wouldn’t be able to stop his breakthrough to the Second Tribulation of the Soul Ascension Realm.

Ruuumble~

And not more than a few minutes later, the tribulation cloud appeared above the elder, as the lightning began gathering above. Preparing to descend.

Watching this from the side, Xuan Hao kept his attention focused on the elder. Waiting to see if some mysterious power would appear to aid the elder in overcoming his tribulation.

BOOOM-!

However, as the lightning struck, there was no sign of any mysterious power emerging to either aid the elder or help suppress the strength of the tribulation he was facing. Instead, the situation seemed to be playing out like how it would normally. No abnormalities, a sight that was rather discouraging considering how he had spent one million ascension coins for what seemed like a barren secret realm that had nothing outside of size going for it. Not even capable of producing the simplest kind of cultivation resource.

”Hm?”

But as the tribulation dragged on and the elder found himself starting to struggle in the face of the tribulation of earthen lightning, Xuan Hao finally noticed something happening, as the weakening vitality of the elder seemed to have been bolstered by some kind of mysterious force. Allowing him to more easily resist the lightning, coursing through his body and at the same time also giving him a chance to further refine his own physical body by using the earthen lightning coursing through his body.

By the time that the final bolt of lightning hit the elder, his body had already transformed completely, as he was now far stronger than he had been a few hours earlier when the tribulation began. The presence he exuded had also surpassed the First Tribulation of the Soul Ascension Realm and officially reached the Second Tribulation of the Soul Ascension Realm. Indicating that he had successfully managed to pass his tribulation. Entering the ranks of the few elders in the sect that had managed to complete their second tribulation, a number that was low already considering how most of the sect’s Soul Ascension Realm cultivators were still only at the First Tribulation of the Soul Ascension Realm.

Although he couldn’t trace the source of the power that had seemingly bolstered the vitality of the elder when he had started to falter in the face of the tribulation, he could at least confirm with certainty that there was indeed some kind of mysterious power inside the ascension secret realm capable of assisting those breaking through to the Soul Ascension Realm or ascending further within the Soul Ascension Realm.

This was both reliving to learn and at the same time also a bit saddening knowing that not all those who would feel encouraged to try breaking through within the ascension secret realm when the news of the place spread throughout the sect, would be successful.

After all, though the ascension secret realm had clearly lent a hand in helping the elder overcome the tribulation successfully, he was also very clear that this assistance was limited and didn’t mean that everyone could now break through to the Soul Ascension Realm with ease.

Instead, it would be more accurate to view it as a small helping hand that would give a little push forward and help those who were originally only a short distance from succeeding in succeeding.
