Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2599: Chapter 2594: The Purpose Behind It All

A magnificent and sturdy treasure chest, but what’s hidden inside after opening is deadly poison.

For Fu Qian, such a scene is not unheard of.

Not to mention poison, it’s not uncommon to find one’s head swallowed whole.

But typically, this kind of situation has a prerequisite, which is that before opening, there’s no way to sneak a peek inside.

And for entities like the Mother of the Gospel, shouldn’t the barrier lack that kind of exaggerated isolation effect?

There’s no need to mention the Ji Family’s arrangements for the Golden Generation; I’ve personally eliminated a seed planted within the barrier.

Even if the main body can’t enter, it shouldn’t be too difficult to take a peek inside, right?

Yet in this situation, a group of people are still tirelessly trying to open the treasure chest?

It can only be said, wondered long ago, what allure does this small world beneath the barrier hold, drawing the envy of so many cosmic Superior Beings, now it seems even more perplexing.

There must be a reason for a place chosen by destiny; such a vast universe can’t possibly have all good things gathered here, right?

Even absolute bad things seem to have one.

To know that even chaotic places like the Abyss can be called world pillars by a warehouse, essentially it’s a kind of stable state.

Only this Transcendent doomsday seems extraordinarily exceptional.

To put it bluntly, if a crystallized Transcendent virus can truly be thoroughly contained behind a barrier, then it’s hard to say whom this barrier is meant to protect.

Could it be... meant to break the virus culture vessel, letting crystals rule everything?

Always maintaining a habit of asking while attempting to answer, facing the unreasonable deductions all along, Fu Qian quickly tried a daring explanation.

But it is indeed a bit too daring; going through untold hardships neither for fame nor gain, just to drag everyone along to consume feces?

What kind of grievance would lead one to such a ”when will the day be over” choice?

Or perhaps, it’s actually not so negative?

Instead, finding this box full of viruses, deeply realizing its destruction to the harmony of the entire Supernatural Realm, wanting to prevent troubles by coming to deal with it?

Honestly, that’s a bit too positive, hard to believe the Mother of the Gospel could be so straightforward and honest.

On the other hand, rather than saying the barrier is solid, but actually hasn’t stopped the crystalline poison from seeping out.

And as the victim tracing back, finally discovered this place, prepared to come in for a thorough cleanup.

Sounds slightly reasonable, but this third hypothesis seems to face a deadly flaw—there hasn’t been any cleanup?

If the doomsday nineteen years ago was real, and led to the scene just seen, then there are no signs of completed cleansing, it’s practically a crystalline poison outbreak.

Even the Mother of the Gospel alone, who plots numerous roles, shouldn’t be so high-handed and low-performing, right?

This direction also seems to have entered a dead end.

Of course, thinking positively, a dead end at least proves that this path is not passable, it’s a necessary path of elimination.

As everyone knows, without absolute evidence, the elimination method is a left foot stepping on the right, whichever error is greater, can completely turn back to the other side to have a look—cough, cough!

With another cough, Fu Qian had already gradually reshaped himself back into human form, no longer easily scaring the children, and slightly more upright as he stared ahead.

If spectators outside the barrier come for the crystals, and this novel viewpoint doesn’t pan out, then it seems to return to them coveting something else here.

But if the set that all good things are here indeed feels deliberate... besides the crystalline curse, is there anything special inside the barrier?

There truly is—the Sea of Souls.

...

After much argumentation, squeezed out an interesting answer from the cracks of elimination.

If in the Bookstore World, there’s something more special in comparison, then Fu Qian would certainly put the Sea of Souls before places like the Abyss.

After all, no matter how unfriendly the Abyss is, it hasn’t posted notices barring outsiders.

And in the prior three explorations of the Sea of Souls, even with local guides, were bluntly turned away, an infuriating thought.

If this is merely a ”special” aspect, then it isn’t meaningful to the Superior Beings.

First, recall, outsiders seem not to be the only victims of double standards—

In the third phase of the Sea of Souls experiment, according to Record Keeper Su Gao’s description, the Superior Being henchman Sunny could enter the Sea of Souls, but her status was transcendent, making interaction difficult.

It was deduced then that Superior Beings also might face some rejection.

Of course, considering Sunny belongs to the Dragon King’s Scale, the latter identified as Cosmic Deities by the warehouse, can’t rule out this limitation being only targeted at this group.

But regardless, Superior Beings are evidently victims of double standards too.

Granted, phrases like ”no one can refuse me,” ”woman, you’ve successfully attracted my attention,” Fu Qian hardly believes would appear metaphorically on Superior Beings.

If there’s pursuit concerning the Sea of Souls, it must be for some definite value.

And what’s said next, indeed seems seen before, in the Witch’s world.

Last time went there to solve Extraordinary Perception issues, also encountered something similar to the Sea of Souls, better called the Sea of Dead Souls.

The place frozen by the Witch with her own power, turned into part of a Nightmare collective, could be said to have a visceral feeling of the Sea of Souls drying up.

And in there, was an empty armor, and after discussing with the Witch, the final conclusion suspected that the owner of the armor might have performed some ritual using the Sea of Souls.

The place that rejects Superior Beings seems oddly meaningful specifically to them.

So, could this world be similar?

...

Indeed, the framework of knowledge seems more systematically constructed.

At that moment, for Fu Qian, some things like meshing gears seemed to faintly piece together with mutual confirmation.

So the Mother of the Gospel, perhaps didn’t come for the crystalline Transcendent virus, nor overly abundant Transcendent resources.

But purely for something special among them, even willingly taking great risks?

Honestly, though it’s a conclusion reached step by step through deductions, it still sounds somewhat counterintuitive.

Facing such existence, mere life’s wisdom shouldn’t be shallow and fragile, where is its meaning?

But speaking of counterintuitive, indeed I’ve seen a little evidence—a small proof—

When Jade Soul showed the doomsday, the first thing the Mother of the Gospel did upon arriving seemed to involve operating the Sea of Souls, conveniently trapping me.

And speaking of which, I’m still trapped myself now.

As thoughts flew, Fu Qian who barely restored a human-shaped hand, once again pulled out the script put away.

The fifth act is still left blank.
