Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2067: Chapter 2062: Dancer (8)

I originally thought this time they had crafted a new face, thinking the warehouse had made a breakthrough. Turns out, they instantly started cutting costs in areas you can’t see.

”Well, you can also call me Anke.”

Sarcasm is sarcasm, but dismissiveness is the warehouse’s issue, not enough to blame those helping provide information.

Facing the self-introduced white-dress Clara, Fu Qian remained easygoing.

”So Anke... why is it that as soon as you arrived here, you wanted to see that kind of show first?”

Even so, Clara seemed quite pressured.

So much so that the question she posed after a bit of thought felt very courageous.

”Oh... are you questioning my taste?”

Sure enough, her question was maliciously interpreted in the next moment, although Fu Qian didn’t show any displeasure on his face.

”—No, I just feel like you don’t seem to have much interest in performances.”

Startled, she instantly explained, though Clara remained strong enough to continue the topic.

”How could it be? I even bought a souvenir, the most honored guest in the venue.”

Unfortunately, Lord Anke clearly felt she was somewhat inexplicable, displaying the item hanging around his neck with a curious expression.

What do you mean bought? Didn’t you end up snatching the money back...

You could tell Clara really wanted to snark at that moment, but ultimately just grasped her share instead.

”But you didn’t even take off your glasses the whole time.”

...

That does seem about right.

Reminded by the other, Fu Qian touched his face.

Given he wasn’t physically limited at the moment, although the lens color was somewhat dark, it undoubtedly didn’t affect vision at all.

So much so that even in dim lighting watching the show, he was too lazy to remove them.

And having precise moves like a scalpel, not even jostling his glasses or having them slip during the conflict from start to finish.

”Is it possible it just makes one look more unabashed?”

Nodding slightly, Fu Qian also offered his perspective, for the first time taking off his sunglasses and casually tossing them into his backpack.

”That possibility can’t be ruled out. Money... can you return it to me?”

Though having to admit there’s truth in that perspective, Clara couldn’t help but be drawn to the motion, especially to the corner of that thick stack of bills.

”How could this be your money?”

The always composed Fu Qian, upon hearing that, finally showed some incredulity.

”... Two bills were paid by me.”

”But didn’t you also receive a veil? Mine is a robbery take, are you sure you want to be an accomplice?”

...

Fu Qian’s final statement made a clearly devastating blow.

You could see although Clara had no confidence in Lan Fyla Police’s effectiveness, she still wasn’t eager to take on such a charge herself.

For a moment, not bringing up the money again, but in silence, she didn’t bolt either, just following quietly beside.

Fu Qian didn’t mind it at all, just casually observing around, experiencing the exotic local customs...especially the ubiquitous blue eyes.

”But if you’re interested, I could treat you to a cup of coffee to thank you for speaking up earlier.”

And seeing the young person still obstinately trailing a few steps away after not much time had passed, Fu Qian finally stopped and gestured a small gesture of appreciation.

”...Are you planning to continue with your tourism itinerary?”

Looking up at the shop front, shocked by the other’s generosity, Clara was even more startled recognizing the shop.

Clearly the designated meeting point by the tour leader.

After watching the show and pulling off the feat, was this person directly returning as agreed?

Even so early too.

”Yes, why else would I plan on gathering these funds?”

Fu Qian’s tone was matter-of-fact, patting the money-filled pocket.

”Aren’t you planning to carry on?”

...

”Just thought... your impressions of this place seem somewhat peculiar.”

Clara ultimately accepted Fu Qian’s gratitude, explaining post taking her first silent sip of coffee why she had that earlier curiosity.

That’s evident.

And this overly sentimental review did spark a bit of resonance in Fu Qian.

He wasn’t just idle talk; the reason for returning here was indeed to continue the tour group.

The reason was simple, the return journey in the latter half, even deliberately changed the route, still seeing as many blue eyes along the way as before, blessed recipients on the ”cut-off” point were far more than one.

Clearly not limited to the Dancer’s group, ”Third Cause’s” power was being excessively misused.

The simplest explanation is tourists like himself buying hanging blue eyes could see similar situations, albeit differing in degree.

The only advantage perhaps is it only affected living beings, otherwise the numbers would be excessive.

And even still, it proved that attempting to complete the task via exhaustive means entailed an overwhelmingly large workload.

So eventually Fu Qian didn’t rush to deprive the recent group of fortunate people of their blessings, choosing instead to experience more of Lan Fyla—the current person being a pretty good point of entry.

”But I feel your perception of this place is even more peculiar.”

He then returned the sentimental review onto Clara.

Not just idle talk, if his behavior could be explained with usual crass tastes, then hers was simply odd beyond reason.

Wearing sunglasses while watching dancers, as strange as it was, at least didn’t frighten away the audience.

Her initial choice seemed even less human?

”...If you put it that way, I can’t refute.

”My perception of this ancient city is indeed quite unique, and I am more familiar with it.”

Recognizing the coffee wasn’t in vain, Clara didn’t storm off but nodded after a moment.

”Seems like it, so as soon as I left, you did as well?”

Even if Brother Zhang was no fool, he wouldn’t lead such a customer over; the only explanation is it was her initiative—the fact she knew where shows could be seen at this time.

Even her arrival speed was hardly slower than his.

”Indeed, I was planning to act alone, didn’t expect you to arrive first.”

Clara still appeared honest.

”So could you describe your perception of this city?”

Familiar to such a degree, yet inexplicably seeking a guide.

Even having found a guide, upon arriving choosing to act alone.

Such peculiar behavior, Fu Qian astonishingly respects privacy, merely casually curious what her perception really is.

”Magnificent mummies, the streets filled with the smell of preservatives...”

Clara’s response wasn’t exactly polite.

”Anything else? Those eyes?”

Fu Qian still remained without comment.

”Yeah... It’s just a beautiful hope, but the fear is it’s only feigned to be blessed by Divine Beings.”
