Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2061: Chapter 2056: Dancer (Part 2)

This must be the diligent tour guide.

There’s no professional gear to show, but at a glance, they indeed seem competent.

True to its designation, is this task really about tourism?

Even though it’s the city area, the view from here is indeed quite nice.

Amidst the hustle and bustle, you can slightly feel the cultural aspects mentioned in the introduction.

This vehicle, which feels like it should be scrapped, is an old red tram and has a certain clattering charm, like a relic compared to those at the Academy.

Stubbornly rocking, the tram nearly passes right through the crowd.

Yet, the pedestrians back and forth almost have no concept of a safe distance, their movements hardly affected.

On both sides of the street, small vendors selling colorful souvenirs barely glance at the new batch of tourists brought by the tram, many even lazily resting their eyes.

”It’s a shame you missed one of the essential experiences.”

While enjoying the scene, Fu Qian seems to surprise the guide, who regrets that he hasn’t collided with the crowd, while still guiding more people to disembark.

”I’m mainly worried my glasses will poke someone.”

In response, Fu Qian just touches his face.

Indeed, while admiring the scenery earlier, he even viewed it through more than one layer of glass.

The thing on his face now, although calling them sunglasses would be an understatement, no matter how they’re worn, looks more like a red-eyed frog.

”No matter, believe we’ll have better luck ahead.”

The female guide seems unfazed by such a casual look, cheerfully assembling the group while chatting.

”Seems so.”

Fu Qian also doesn’t elaborate, casually glancing around without any intention of removing his glasses.

[Current task updated: Find the blue-eyed dancer.]

...

The task objective appears quite clear; the hint appeared almost immediately.

It seems the warehouse isn’t planning on letting me just aimlessly tour on their dime—even though it still sounds quite adventurous.

Dancer, such a folk item shouldn’t be uncommon in this tourist city, though it’s unclear what the blue eyes mean yet.

The simplest understanding might be the color of pupils, but even before getting off the tram, Fu Qian had already spotted something peculiar.

Right at the street vendor stalls, nearly half of them are adorned with a folk-inspired accessory.

Round, in various sizes, at a glance the material seems quite ordinary, ice species glass.

Yet at the same time, the theme isn’t mundane; on those flat discs, there are three concentric circles, one inside the other.

At first glance, it’s reminiscent of an image from the warehouse.

And because the middle circle is blue, as they sway, they truly look like blue eyes gazing over.

Not only did we start with a hint, but we also immediately saw task-related elements, which should be the good luck the guide mentioned.

Though this element is indeed everywhere.

Fu Qian expressed amazement but didn’t rush to buy one for research; instead, he listened to the guide’s introduction along with others, for a simple reason—

”...Here is our first stop, also the first choice for most people coming to this city... You’ve surely noticed those blue eyes? Actually, locals have a special name for them, calling them ’Unassailable’.”

...

Having experienced many battles, such a smooth start is indeed rare.

A familiar term in the introduction confirmed to Fu Qian that his previous guess was not unfounded.

Not only does the shape match, but even the name is identical to the containment product.

”It’s named thus because they believe the item possesses transcendent powers, preventing foreign intrusion.”

The explanation continues as the diligent female guide even clarifies the origin of the name.

Though the term ”foreign intrusion” could be considered a bit abstract.

”What it specifically refers to, few can now explain. In essence, treat it as a special amulet, if one day it breaks, it’s as if it protected you from a disaster.”

Unfortunately, the guide’s knowledge isn’t deeper in this area, clearly leaning more towards practicality.

”...Additionally, one thing to note, even if it doesn’t break, if it’s carried during a thunderstorm, it should be discarded... Fortunately, it’s not expensive.”

Following the curiosity of the group, the guide adds a few more words and gestures towards the distance.

”Okay, let’s head off. If you want to explore on your own, just let me know, but don’t forget the meeting point at the corner café...

”If you get disoriented, it’s fine. The group isn’t large, just stay put, and I’ll find you quickly.”

...

Indeed, the group is small.

Recently, Fu Qian has cultivated a habit of paying close attention to instructions.

Having gained important information this way, he’s deeply aware of the significance of the statement regarding the number.

Relatively speaking, this tour group is indeed small.

Among those who disembarked together, apart from himself, there are only five others—

A couple, not very young in appearance, wear matching light purple coats, looking quite intimate.

An elderly gentleman with gray hair, whose demeanor and attire are very stylish, stands straight.

A slightly Mediterranean, shiny-faced middle-aged man, smiling kindly.

And lastly, besides himself, the youngest lone woman, also carrying the least items, empty-handed in a white dress, as if she’s out just for coffee.

The diligent guide probably should charge more or arrange for some shopping, or risk going hungry.

Of course, this doesn’t prevent the trip from seeming very leisurely.

Apart from the information one after another, Fu Qian has even confirmed one point—so-called Abandonment King, indeed does not merely refer to the divine position he’s usurped, but is rather like a packaged state.

In addition to the skill rewards acquired from the task, the insights gained are still present.

As for the various tools remaining—frankly, most were never usable.

In the end, the combat power isn’t significantly affected.

”It seems everyone wishes to walk together first, a great honor, let’s begin—”

Seeing no one speaking up, the female guide turns with some relief, leading the way gracefully.

”Sorry, I’m planning to explore alone.”

Although interrupted next by Fu Qian.

This guide is indeed responsible, but the warehouse has provided such smooth clues, he should also show some initiative.

”So where in this area can I find the dancer?”

As the group looks over, Fu Qian casually continues, maintaining his composure.
