Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2053: Chapter 2048: The Witch’s Suggestion

Praise the Pontiff.

Caressing the item in his hand, clearly possessing a transcendent nature, Fu Qian sensed its strangeness while not forgetting to thank the generous giver.

Indeed, the object undoubtedly came from Witch Niel Glegorya, even the moment he explained his situation.

Though before and after the gift, not a word was uttered.

From this transformation, one can almost deduce two things—

First, although extraordinary perception is gone, through Blasphemy’s Embrace, which the witch directly impressed into him as an ability, it’s still possible to connect with the Dark Moon after shooting the Sun.

Secondly, communication inevitably faced barriers, manifesting specifically in the witch being able to unilaterally receive information from his side, or strenuously tossing things over directly.

He can no longer hear voices; otherwise, she should at least provide some usage instructions.

Although he can roughly know what it is for—it might not be strong enough to directly restore his perception; it’s more likely an attempt to remove these communication obstacles, or even the barriers to that world.

Not hearing the Pontiff’s teachings is one thing; the disappearance of extraordinary perception brings another issue, which is that even if connected to the Dark Moon, he cannot sense the marks left in that world, like the blood on that painting.

And that undoubtedly means the Extreme Hunger Infection lost its target, which means he has also temporarily lost the ability to visit.

He had similar speculations upon discovering the change, which now seems verified.

Therefore, as matters at the Academy briefly conclude, he directly blurred the Sun’s face with Blasphemy’s Embrace, naturally because during the previous battle in the Abandoned Prison, he had fleeting contact with the Pontiff due to the Dark Moon being on the opponent’s side, which is now considered a check-in for peace of mind.

On another note, perhaps there’s no way to address his situation specifically, but the Pontiff can offer suggestions.

However, facts now prove the Pontiff’s mighty power is undeniable.

In the absence of verbal suggestions, they directly sent an item over.

...

So now the question is, how to use this thing, in the absence of a manual—who said there isn’t one?

His hand gently stroked along that beautiful curve, recognizing not only that it’s a bow, but he even knows its prototype very well—Blasphemy’s Embrace.

It’s the only item the Pontiff chose to take from his side.

This choice of design carries its own meaning.

This ”Spine Lock” honestly looks a bit sinister, differing from the usual style of the Pontiff’s gifts.

And Fu Qian doesn’t think simply bending it this way could actually shoot people or anything.

It’s clear that just a little force would make it deform again, and using it to strangle someone’s neck might be more effective than this.

Given the time hasn’t been long, the Pontiff’s state shouldn’t have recovered much.

Sending something over was already laborious, so expending this extra effort must convey something to him.

”This item might be able to help me, but should not be used on myself? Should it be sent out like that bow?”

Gazing at the Dark Moon in the sky, Fu Qian tentatively proposed an idea the next moment.

Indeed, not using it on himself was the special implication Fu Qian thought of first.

When he was still not awakened from his drunken stupor, the Witch had seen all the bizarre equipment on him.

And the Witch intended to convey something simple and straightforward, unlikely to be misunderstood, ultimately choosing Blasphemy’s Embrace—

Its biggest difference from the others is that it’s no longer in his hands.

”So is this some kind of fierce thing? It does look a bit sinister, to be honest.”

No response; Fu Qian casually played with the Spine Lock, quickly straightening it, and even bending it into a crescent moon.

...

Great.

A moment later, realizing nothing new appeared in his hand, Fu Qian nodded in satisfaction.

Assuming the Witch can confirm everything on his side, if his previous assumption had major issues, she, given her style, would most likely remind him similarly, regardless of the effort.

For instance, sending a hammer for him to knock his head clear.

The current silence seems to confirm that his guess was close to the truth.

”So how exactly should this be used? Consume it, or—”

With a basic concept confirmed, Fu Qian began pondering more operational details.

While talking to himself midway, he was interrupted by some peculiar transformation.

The crescent moon unexpectedly began reshaping itself, slowly drawing closer to his nearer hand, as if attracted by the flowing blood.

Even the fringes’ bone spurs, like revived flagella, were softening and swaying slowly...

”Seems like I know how it’s used, not to consume it, but to be consumed by it.”

Facing this bizarre scene, Fu Qian did not hastily withdraw his hand, instead observing with interest the bone’s surface, which seemed to become moist and dark red... until the spines extended, reaching his palm.

Raising his hand slowly, perfectly avoiding a hit, Fu Qian surveyed the briefly silent Spine Lock, still no new item in hand.

Even the Dark Moon was gradually fading away.

It seems he needs to find it some food... even something chewable.

Realizing that the contact had concluded, the Dark Moon even retreated decisively, confirming his hypothesis. Fu Qian, satisfied, immediately began contemplating a feeding plan.

Considering that sending an item was already quite challenging, maintaining contact was anything but easy for the Witch, so how could he demand more guidance?

And whether for interest in his body or in response to the expansion speed of the Calamity Eye, it proves that this item has remarkable quality.

Feeding it ordinary food might not yield good results.

But non-ordinary food...

What first came to Fu Qian’s mind were the ”bubbles” he had visited several times.

Theoretically, it could very well be the remains of a Superior Being; given the looks of the item, it might not mind something stale.

However, the problem here is, without half-step moon access and without the Red Moon’s assistance, that place seems closed to him.

If that doesn’t work, the Night Watchmen are quite skilled as well... storming in directly, offering blood sacrifice blood flag skull offerings?

Realizing the operational difficulty, an alternative plan quickly emerged.

In comparison, this one is much more feasible, even an invitation has already come—

In the distance, Fu Qian swiftly spotted a familiar figure heading straight for the bookstore beneath him.

Chief of Shangjing, with shopping bags in hand, even had not had the chance to put them back.
