Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2060: Chapter 2055: Dancer (Part 1)

As everyone knows, business trips can be exhausting, but that doesn’t mean you can skip submitting reports.

Although it’s still a bit early before midnight, considering that the warehouse has been quite cooperative lately, Fu Qian has no intention of making things difficult unnecessarily.

During this leisure time, it would be a good idea to finish the first task of the week.

Besides, this task seems pretty friendly.

Standing in the warehouse again, Fu Qian looked at the three virtual concentric circles spinning around the central axis in different directions, finding it quite interesting.

What is this, the power of circle within circle?

[Name: Inviolable, Code: 3-399]

[Today’s work content has been updated, enter the containment scene of 3-399 and complete the containment again]

[Do you want to spend 1 SAN Point to start?]

Unlike before, when big tasks were given right away, this one is actually numbered 3.

The name is quite peculiar, making its exact nature hard to grasp, subtly hinting at an abstract vibe.

[Yes]

But it doesn’t matter, Fu Qian never hoped his aesthetic would be confined to one corner, and in that reverie, he chose to accept it.

Also, it seems the warehouse is starting to adapt to the changes in the administrator.

When this task began, there wasn’t even a big reaction—

[Entering the containment scene of 3-399]

[Current SAN Points 130]

It turns out that you can’t celebrate too early.

The anomaly appeared even before officially starting the task.

Hearing the prompt in his ear at that moment, Fu Qian sighed in his heart.

To be precise, the situation with the SAN Points is almost the same.

During the communication with the Jade Soul Master, he used Pseudo-Divine Being several times, which, although not as depleted as the time on Ye Island, did cause some consumption.

In fact, after losing Extraordinary Perception, it’s already a relief that the SAN Points attribute can be read in such a relatively normal state.

After all, there’s still a comparison here—what about Inspiration?

Where is that 99-point rare reward of mine?

In the past, these two used to appear together.

However, that attribute that seemed to have been maxed out is now nowhere to be found.

It didn’t even become zero, it’s just gone completely.

...

Indeed, compared to the former outsiders, I have entered some weirder state.

Faced with the abnormality presented at the start of the task, what first came to Fu Qian’s mind were many past gaming experiences and the concept of corrupted save files.

It’s well known that in some old games, strange save file issues can occur even without cheats.

Especially when your actions don’t quite follow the designers’ intentions.

And judging by the warehouse’s previous reactions, my situation seems to be somewhat beyond its grasp.

I originally thought it could grit its teeth to overcome this, but at this moment, it manifested directly in the data.

It’s neither skyrocketing nor plummeting, but rather a certain attribute just disappeared.

As for the impact, it’s quite evident now—didn’t Extraordinary Perception also drop to zero?

Inspiration, perception, they all sound pretty reasonable.

The only question is whether there are any other negative impacts, and whether Inspiration will be granted again after the task is completed.

After all, a corrupted save file doesn’t necessarily prevent the game from running, but it often greatly increases the probability of strange errors.

[Choose your skill]

Evidently, some things do indeed surface quickly when thought about, and sure enough, anomalies appeared again.

The good news is that this task, being numbered 3, doesn’t seem to rely solely on brains to solve—the bad news is, where are my items?

During the preparation phase, the option to equip items was conspicuously absent.

Even the skills section was quite different from before.

[Abandonment King]

The row of familiar skills now had only one left, one that had never appeared before.

This made it somewhat difficult to determine whether it only related to maintaining the Divine Position or if the entire current state was being referred to as Abandonment King.

[Due to capacity limitations, you cannot carry any additional items]

Next, the warehouse actually provided further explanation.

So is it because my save character level is too high after all?

Regarding this explanation, Fu Qian felt that he understood it properly—sorry about overextending your essence, but now there’s nothing else that can be carried.

Moreover, it was previously speculated that in those past tasks, the reason why skill items could be selected blindly probably had something to do with his Inspiration, as the value compared to other Administrators was somewhat excessive.

This time, facing such an elusive situation might also affect item carrying.

Of course, even with things being like this, entering the task in the current state is already quite overwhelmingly brutal compared to before.

For a while, Fu Qian didn’t have many objections and equipped the only skill.

[Due to capacity limitations, most damage will not be repaired after completing the task]

Though closely followed by another prompt.

...

So even the repair costs must be saved?

Though I understand that the higher the item level, the more expensive the repair, isn’t the warehouse being a bit too stingy?

This sentence is much easier to understand, that is, unlike before, regardless of whether the task succeeds or fails, you’ll still be a good person when you come out.

Right now, it’s starkly likely that health drops or similar issues in the task will become your own responsibility afterward.

Is this the legendary scenario of paying to work?

Amidst the ridicule, the task had officially begun.

[...8%...13%...21%...34%...55%...89%...100%, Containment scene loading completed]

[White stones, sand of gold, high walls... named Lan Fyla.

This place once witnessed the rise and fall of empires, the annihilation and rebirth of hope.

Now it seems elderly, its once strong muscles reduced to kindling.

Yet every day of the year, it draws countless visitors in admiration.

Beyond the stunning scenery and the historical remnants it holds, perhaps it is this weariness of the twilight years that brings a profound sense of peace as one walks through it.

And as one among the many seekers, you’ve fortunately been drawn on a day without rain but with clouds, along with a careful guide.

Hopefully, this will help you to the maximum extent, to find what you’re looking for.]

...

”Alright, you can get off now.”

Almost as soon as the introduction was over, a prompt came through.

Accompanying it was even a slightly forceful braking inertia.

Screech—

Such an occurrence naturally posed no difficulty for Fu Qian, as even before he became a thug, his sense of balance had been honed by the bus drivers of Lincheng.

Amidst the sound of braking, the view through the window in front of him showed no sign of shaking.

Meanwhile, from the corner of his eye, he saw another figure only slightly inferior to himself.

Shoulder-length hair, short sleeves, long pants, freckles slightly noticeable on either side of the nose, and a blue-and-white backpack on the back.
