Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 822: Chapter 820: Fruit and Sugar (For the Silver Alliance “Jequinte”, an additional 2/5) Chapter 822: Chapter 820: Fruit and Sugar (For the Silver Alliance “Jequinte”, an additional 2/5) Interesting and bold ideas.

To know that even in the Academy, the disdain and prejudice between the various houses are very noticeable.

It should be that few are willing to accept such a close relationship between the two.

“You’re saying that the Miracle Elixir originally had no effect, but it worked because it was supplemented by Kagetsu Kana’s talent?”

Many things are just a matter of realizing the obvious, Su Gao pondered briefly and quickly understood.

“But she is now obviously ascending to Transcendence through her Cultivation Talent.”

“She did indeed master Resurrection earlier, although during this period, no Transcendent traits were visible.”

Fu Qian blinked.

“Could it be that her Cultivation Talent has formed some kind of compatibility with the Transcendent potions? Not enough to transform her into a Transcendent, but still granting her a fragment of a gift?”

“Possibly, but still unbelievable.”

Even though Fu Qian had been guiding her, Su Gao couldn’t hide her astonishment.

“Although you’ve always used a sword, essentially it has nothing to do with the Sword Dao, right?”

In the next moment, Fu Qian continued.

“Yes.”

Su Gao nodded.

“I really haven’t devoted as much effort to comprehension and practice as they have; to me, it’s just a skill.”

“According to my understanding of the Sword Dao, the concept of cultivation can almost be considered a process of combining paths, purifying and refining a certain philosophy to its limit, and finally receiving feedback.”

Fu Qian spoke with the air of a master.

“And not long ago, I realized that the word ‘dao’ was too misleading. If we replace it with Kagetsu Kana’s talent, it might be much easier to understand.”

“For Kagetsu Kana, her process of combining paths is the conquest and manipulation of the opposite sex, making them infatuated with her, or simply put, charm.”

Hmm.

Su Gao clearly saw the attitude of Kagetsu Kana toward Fu Qian.

Although extremely charming, it was essentially full of animalistic nature.

So she could completely understand why Fu Qian was so unkind to Kagetsu Kana.

In Fu Qian’s eyes, she was just an animal driven by pure desire.

“And does the word ‘charm’ make it easier to think of the concept of ‘divine authority’?”

Seeing that she was following his line of thought, Fu Qian continued.

“You mean, some divine authority belonging to Divine Beings was extracted and transformed into something similar to the Sword Dao?”

Su Gao’s eyes lit up.

“And the void that Nepheli spoke of is caused by this?”

“Exactly.”

Fu Qian nodded.

“Inappropriate as the analogy may be, our path to godhood as natural Special Ability users is like a range of fruit, each with different ways of consumption, corresponding to various complex rituals. And once you finally taste it, you’ll find a mix of flavors, sour, sweet, astringent… these concepts together make up the name of the fruit, like apples.”

“But one day, the sugar inside the apples is extracted in an incomprehensible way, affecting the very essence of the apples, because they are no longer whole.”

“And to maintain its sense of self, the apple had to find various ways to replace the lost sugar, the simplest of which is to snatch it from other fruits, instantly causing many fruits to taste different.”

“And the lost sugar becomes especially pure, suitable for those who only love sweetness…”

Despite Fu Qian’s bad habit of making haphazard analogies, Su Gao clearly had the ability to understand and murmured to herself.

“A very interesting idea, but at this point, I can’t make any judgments. May I ask others for advice, or should this remain a secret?”

“It must remain a secret.”

Fu Qian spoke with certainty, pointing at his head.

“Understood, it might bring about trouble.”

“Supernatural World, chaos between spirit and flesh.”

“Understood.”

Su Gao nodded, agreeing seriously.

…

The idea that Su Gao had mentioned was indeed a hypothesis Fu Qian had arrived at by piecing together previous information.

And if it was true, it meant that he had gained a deeper understanding of the very nature of power in this world.

Even deeper than the understanding Nepheli had, who had painstakingly prepared for experiments.

But at the same time, a question emerged—who did it?

What kind of being had the strength to extract sugar right out of the fruit?

Those were Divine Beings in control of their own realms, stable in their power.

It felt like a shadow had fallen over the world.

…

“Is this the place?”

By the time they got out of the car, it was the second day, and although Su Gao had not returned for many years, she clearly remembered the way.

Under her lead, it didn’t take long for the two to reach the edge of a dense forest.

Had it really been turned into a sightseeing area?

While not overly crowded, there were still groups of tourists walking around in their holiday attire, which made Fu Qian marvel at how Ye Island dared to make a spectacle out of anything.

Even the “application” mentioned in the documents he had read was just about filling out some simple information near what seemed to be the entrance.

“The last time I was here, there weren’t so many people.”

Su Gao also seemed full of nostalgic regret, as if returning to her own home required buying a ticket.

But since it was so simple, she clearly had no intention of exploiting privileges and actually went to register.

For professional Hunters, dealing with identity information was like second nature.

The same went for Fu Qian, who was a professional on a mission.

As the two entered the legendary Forbidden Area smoothly, they could see that the once fallen land, with its air of corruption, was nowhere to be found.

The only things that remained were the bizarrely shaped giant trees with faint human body shapes and various crude hiding spots.

Of course, no one would tell the tourists the true origin of these things.

Fu Qian saw with his own eyes two young people, not even twenty years old, tie a paper-folded Star to a tree that had the contour of half a human face, charred until it was half gone.

And there were already many similar items on the tree.

Fu Qian glanced at Su Gao, who clearly hadn’t expected this scene either, and was lost in thought looking at Old Master Ailei’s remains.

“This is Grandpa Ailei I was telling you about, the last few times I came here, he could hardly recognize me anymore.”

Su Gao’s voice betrayed no emotion.

“To him, this scene might not be unwelcome.”

Fu Qian said casually, shifting his gaze from the jagged tree burls to the barely standing buildings behind.

“Shall we go in and have a look?”

…Okay.

As Su Gao took steps forward and opened the wobbly door, Fu Qian did not follow.

Some situations do not require the presence of outsiders.

While standing next to Old Master Ailei, his gaze then locked onto a small island not far off.

Further downstream from there was a mysterious dig site.

…

“What’s wrong?”

Su Gao didn’t stay long, returning the same way she came after a while, and watching her, Fu Qian couldn’t help but be curious.

“Thank you.”

Hm?

Her face showed no sign of sorrow, but she revealed a bright smile.

“My vacation is over.”
