Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 249: Chapter 248 Pure Land (11)_1

“Your hand!”

What was unexpected was that a simple movement by Fu Qian triggered Veil to scream in alarm.

She looked at Fu Qian’s right hand in shock, where an apparent through-and-through wound still oozed traces of blood.

To Veil, this was truly beyond comprehension.

Although she didn’t know how he trained, in her eyes, the mysterious figure before her was at least a Fourth Phase strong player.

It was hard to imagine anything in the town that could injure him.

...
Moreover, Transcendents typically have incredibly strong healing abilities, and such a non-fatal wound on a non-vital area wouldn’t likely continue bleeding even if it hadn’t completely healed in a short time.

How could this be?

Veil covered her mouth, instinctively feeling danger.

“Are you… okay?”

She asked tentatively.

“Perfectly fine!”

Fu Qian didn’t even lift his head as he replied nonchalantly.

This was the truth, for progress had been made on the mission, and dinner had been particularly to his liking; his mood was indeed quite good.

As for the injury on his hand, he had no intention of offering an explanation.

However, Fu Qian’s relaxed tone sounded entirely different to Veil.

He was satisfied with this result?

Merely having an injured hand was already a pretty good outcome?

What exactly was he dealing with?

For a moment, Veil was consumed with worry, uncertain whether she should take her sister and leave this place.

…

The next morning, as knocking sounds woke him, Fu Qian rose from his bed full of energy.

Looking at the wound on his hand, it had completely healed without leaving a trace.

This was considered very slow.

Normally, such a minor injury would heal in the time it took to yawn.

That particular state of Void had greatly reduced the wound’s healing ability.

At the same time, Fu Qian also heard Veil upstairs, who had been tossing and turning.

Clearly she hadn’t slept another night.

Youth really do have boundless energy!

Fu Qian sighed to himself as he opened the door.

Before him, in addition to the maid who had come to deliver meals before, stood a familiar face.

Grace?

Fu Qian looked at the elegant lady in the simple long dress and thought to himself, could it really be such a coincidence?

No matter how he looked at it, this lady was the same Grace who had engaged in a Void conversation with Nate at the party the previous night.

Veil’s distant relative turned out to be her?

Only now, Grace’s eyes were clear, she possessed not a hint of that Void aura, and she looked nothing like she had the previous night.

And this very much alive middle-aged lady was now surveying him with a somewhat suggestive gaze from top to bottom.

“Mr. Fu Qian, good morning!”

“Madam, good morning, please come in.”

Fu Qian replied with a beaming smile.

The change in Grace reminded him naturally of the scene he encountered previously at the hospital.

At that time, he had clearly detected the presence of the Void, but when he arrived at Gausman’s room, the gentleman appeared completely normal.

These people seemed to follow some rule, allowing them to switch between two states.

The situation was becoming increasingly interesting.

“I heard that a handsome guest had arrived, and I’ve been looking forward to meeting you all night, so I came over as soon as I got up.”

With her gloved hand covering her mouth, Grace laughed softly.

“I thought Daisy had been exaggerating, but it turns out she wasn’t exaggerating at all!”

Her gaze wandered across Fu Qian’s face, and Grace signaled to the maid Daisy to bring breakfast into the room, while she herself also stepped inside.

Meanwhile, footsteps came from upstairs, and upon hearing the noise below, the sleep-deprived Veil got out of bed as well.

“Aunt, what brings you here?”

Her expression turning somewhat unnatural upon seeing Grace.

“What happened to you?”

Grace frowned, grabbing Veil’s face and scrutinizing the dark circles under her eyes.

“Didn’t sleep well?”

During the conversation, this person even glanced intentionally or unintentionally in Fu Qian’s direction.

You’re overthinking it.

Fu Qian naturally understood the meaning behind that ambiguous glance, he thought to himself.

He could guess some of the reasons why Veil had insomnia.

It was highly probable that it was because he was injured yesterday, which led her to make some overly rich associations.

Seeing Grace’s action, Veil’s complexion turned a mix of red and pale.

There was the embarrassment of being misunderstood, but more so, the fear of offending Fu Qian.

It’s really not what you think, this person is extremely dangerous, and appearances are deceiving!

Veil mentally shouted, instinctively grabbing Grace’s hand.

“It’s nothing, I just went to see Riet yesterday.”

“You met with Riet?”

Grace was momentarily stunned, clearly not expecting that to be the reason.

After the maid came back yesterday and told her that a young man had joined them, she was very happy.

She came early this morning to take a look and liked him very much upon meeting him.

She hadn’t expected that Veil had already met with Riet.

“Are you planning to leave?”

Grace asked subconsciously.

She knew the sisters’ personalities very well and was aware of Veil’s Transcendent identity.

If Riet knew Veil was here, it was highly probable that she would make a scene.

It’s no wonder Veil couldn’t sleep well; it seems I thought too much.

“No need.”

Veil, however, shook her head.

“Riet doesn’t oppose my continuing to stay here.”

“Is that so? That’s good then.”

Grace’s tone was both surprised and relieved.

“It seems that child has also grown up slowly.”

Um.

Veil didn’t explain much, just sat down with Grace.

She didn’t dare to hope that Fu Qian would sit with her, yet surprisingly, he was quite content to sit on the side without showing any impatience.

“This is Mr. Fu Qian.”

Seeing that Grace was clearly interested in Fu Qian, she had no choice but to go ahead with an introduction.

At that moment, Veil also noticed that the injury on Fu Qian’s hand had already healed.

“We have already met just now.”

Grace looked at Fu Qian with a smiling gaze.

“Sorry for not introducing myself, I’m Grace, Veil’s aunt.”

As expected.

Fu Qian turned to glance at Veil.

“Hello, Veil hadn’t told me her aunt was actually you!”

“You know me?”

Grace appeared instantly surprised.

“Mr. Nate mentioned you to me, said you have been guiding him recently, and also suggested he drink a few more good drinks.”

Fu Qian said calmly, recalling the conversations he had heard at the party last night.

By specifically bringing up Nate, he aimed to test a theory.

Fu Qian was curious whether this person would remember what she had said in her other state or whether the two states were completely separate.

“You know Nate?”

Grace’s surprise deepened, and then she sighed deeply.

“He is a pitiable man!”

“Yes, I initially intended to visit him last night, but then thought better of it and didn’t want to disturb him.”

Fu Qian continued, watching Grace’s expression closely.

“Fortunately, you didn’t go, or you might have made a wasted trip.”

The latter smiled broadly.

“He was with us drinking last night, not at home.”
