[Identity verification complete, work for the day begins]

[Warning, containment breach]

After intimidating a group with ease and managing to get a good night’s sleep, Fu Qian entered the warehouse early the next morning.

The latter’s operations remained as stable as ever.

[The Pest hides within flesh and blood, a profane defilement as well as a perverse blessing.

Of course, fools won’t see it that way.

In fact, even those chosen ones won’t think so.

But no matter, they will soon find out that in the deepest darkness, only by embracing filth can one find a glimmer of life.]

No Skill configuration for oneself?

As the mission briefing ended, the scene before his eyes shifted, and Fu Qian realized the anomaly right away.

There was no option to equip Skills or weapons?

He had an ominous premonition.

He vaguely remembered that the last time a similar situation occurred, he was thrown into a dungeon, utterly unarmed.

This time, it shouldn’t be that exaggerated, right?

As his perception returned, Fu Qian looked ahead, and in the next moment, was struck by a bout of confusion.

This time, they indeed didn’t throw him into a dim dungeon, but the setting seemed even stranger than that—right in front of him was a blackboard.

Is this… an antisymmetric matrix?

Fu Qian stared motionless at the blackboard, recognizing its contents.

It wasn’t that he had much interest in linear algebra, but right now, “seeing” was the only action he could perform.

At this moment, Fu Qian could distinctly feel his body stiffen, unable to sense anything except for his eyeballs, which he could still move.

At the same time, he confirmed that all his Skill equipment had been nullified, even the ring on his hand had disappeared.

Clearly, this was another restricted mission.

The problem is, although he had encountered such situations before, like the mission with the cosmic beauty,

even the Discoloration Curse had not paralyzed him to the point where he couldn’t move his hands and feet.

Were they expecting him to stare the monster to death?

Furthermore, the style of this scenario was off; unlike the combat-oriented Academy, this looked like a real school.

[Mission updated, conceal your abnormalities]

As his thoughts raced, he finally heard the system prompt by his ear.

This mission?

“Fu Qian, are you okay? Why is your face so yellow?”

At this point, someone beside him was speaking, but unfortunately, in his current state, he couldn’t even turn his head.

Is it starting now?

Thinking of his mission, Fu Qian tried to open his mouth to say he was fine, but not only did no sound come out, the next moment his body even leaned to one side.

With a clatter, Fu Qian’s view shifted ninety degrees, prompting a chorus of gasps around him.

However, this did give him a view of the person who had just spoken.

The man appeared to be in his twenties, wearing black-rimmed glasses and looking scholarly, gazing over with a face full of concern.

Based on Fu Qian’s experience, this man was most likely some sort of counselor.

At the same time, there were a circle of young faces looking over, both male and female, many of whom still looked quite youthful.

It looked every bit like a regular college evening self-study!

Fu Qian silently assessed the situation.

Many universities have self-study sessions during the first two years, which is not unusual.

“`

By now, he had noticed that it was dark outside, which matched the time perfectly.

“What’s going on? Do we need to take you to the school infirmary?”

Watching the bespectacled boy approaching, Fu Qian recalled the earlier mission briefing.

Following normal reasoning, there was a high probability that there was a worm inside his body at this very moment, which was causing his body to disobey his commands.

If he were to be taken to the school infirmary for an X-ray… well, they probably didn’t have that equipment, and it might even be that, based on experience, they would just give him some anti-inflammatory and pain relief pills and send him back.

But it was still best not to take the risk.

With this thought, Fu Qian first blinked, proving he wasn’t dead yet, and then concentrated all his effort on sensing his body’s presence.

Fortunately, as time went by, Fu Qian slowly became aware of his body beyond his head.

Seeing the girl beside him make way, the counselor came over to help him up.

Fu Qian tried moving his arms, intending to sit up on his own.

Unexpectedly, the next moment, he found he still hadn’t succeeded—his arms didn’t move, instead his neck twisted a couple of times.

Strange, I was sure I was moving my arms—no, wait!

As his body was straightened, Fu Qian suddenly realized the problem.

He could indeed sense the presence of his hand, but it wasn’t the one resting on the table.

He felt as though his hand was situated inside a lump of sticky, slimy stuff.

“Uh… I’m fine!”

The next moment, Fu Qian noticed he had regained the ability to speak and slowly said so.

“Really? But your face is really scarily pale!”

The counselor pressed down on Fu Qian’s shoulder, helping him sit up properly beside him.

“Protection from the cold…”

Fu Qian replied with difficulty.

“What?”

The counselor clearly didn’t understand.

“Protection from the cold… it’s wax I applied!”

…

Not just the counselor, Fu Qian’s answer had caused half the classroom to suddenly fall silent.

“That’s good if you’re okay…”

The counselor wasn’t sure what face to make, but as he could still joke, it seemed the problem wasn’t too serious, which eased his mind somewhat.

“Pay attention, if you feel unwell, go back and rest early. Don’t force yourself to endure it.”

After carefully admonishing him, the counselor instructed others to help watch over him, and finally left.

Seeing the crisis had passed, Fu Qian let out a small sigh of relief.

Since he had not yet regained control of his body, he could only lean against the wall, striking a thinker’s pose, which made the people nearby quite uncomfortable.

After holding his pose for a while, Fu Qian tried moving his arms again, exerting all his strength to extend them forward.

This time there was a reaction at last—his right hand swung out all of a sudden, nearly hitting someone.

At the same time, Fu Qian felt a special link being established, and the next moment, with a push of his right hand, he finally managed to stabilize his nearly falling body.

The girl beside him jumped in fright, quickly stepping aside.

“Mosquito!”

Without waiting for the girl to speak, Fu Qian immediately said.

Just now you said you applied wax for the cold…

The girl didn’t utter a word, but the look she gave him was quite unfriendly.

Unfortunately for her, Fu Qian didn’t bother with her at all, focusing all his attention on himself instead.

For the following period, Fu Qian stretched his body with all his might.

Waves of special sensations came, and the control over his body slowly returned.

When he was almost fully able to move, Fu Qian stretched out his hands and clasped them together.

So that means—staring straight at his hands and recalling the sensations he had just experienced, he thought of a possibility.

“Could the pest actually be myself?”
