Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 216: Chapter 215: Worm of Erosion (Part 5)_1

“You… don’t accept advice?”

Fu Qian’s words seemed to stun the man in the black T-shirt.

“Yes, in fact, I just came from over there.”

“What?”

The man in the black T-shirt was shocked and couldn’t help but scrutinize Fu Qian.

“Are the people there also going mad?”

...
“It doesn’t seem so, but strictly speaking, I only spoke through the door to the people inside.”

Fu Qian kept moving his hands and feet while talking, not wasting any time in improving his adaptability.

“Judging by the tone of the other party, I can only say that he is more or less like us.”

“Isn’t that the best? Then why…”

Both the man in the black T-shirt and Liu Yi were clearly a bit confused.

“I’m just describing the situation, you can make your own judgment.”

Fu Qian didn’t explain; in fact, he couldn’t explain.

He couldn’t tell the two that he felt they were more dangerous than those mad students, could he?

Eventually, under their complex gazes, Fu Qian turned and left.

“What do you say, do you want to go over and have a look?”

The man in the black T-shirt withdrew his gaze and asked Liu Yi.

“…Okay.”

Watching Fu Qian disappear into the thick fog, Liu Yi hesitated but still did not follow him.

Although they were classmates, she wasn’t really acquainted with him, and Fu Qian today seemed particularly strange.

And under no circumstances would she dare to be here alone.

…

Moving silently through the darkness, Fu Qian silently processed the information provided by the man in the black T-shirt.

If his description was accurate, then the anomaly was undoubtedly affecting the entire school.

And the source was likely related to this strange mist.

This must be what was referred to as the deepest darkness mentioned at the beginning of the mission briefing.

On his way here, it felt like this thing brought an abundance of spirituality, not only creating an eerie state among people within it but also awakening numerous things.

Like Sister Ox-head, like the Two-Legged Rat.

While he was pondering, Fu Qian heard the sound of a cow mooing in the darkness once again, and it seemed closer than before.

This area was undoubtedly Sister Ox-head’s territory, and although it was just a fleeting glimpse earlier, she felt quite troublesome to confront, and a direct confrontation was likely to lead to something horrific.

Unable to match her strength, it was best to understand the pattern and work around it.

Fu Qian quickly decided on his strategy.

Considering that he could hear the cow mooing from such a close distance yet didn’t lose any SAN Points, it seemed that the sound was not the primary concern?

Recalling the counselor’s demeanor earlier, it seemed that the mooing first caught his attention, and it was only after focusing on Sister Ox-head did he start to clutch at his head.

It seemed he would have to avoid visual contact if he encountered her again.

As Fu Qian thought, he calculated the direction of the sound, deliberately taking the long way around to avoid running head-on into her embrace.

What is this?

Unexpectedly, while Fu Qian was keeping his distance and moving forward, he suddenly discovered a long line of people ahead.

Boys and girls looking like students were neatly queued in a loose column, quietly shuffling forward.

Fu Qian checked and noted they were heading in the direction from which the cow’s moo was coming.

Indeed, the resistance of ordinary people was too low; they couldn’t resist Sister Ox-head’s call.

But where did so many people come from?

Standing beside this focused procession, Fu Qian looked towards the tail of the line.

In the darkness and thick fog, he could only discern the simplest of silhouettes.

But without a doubt, the huge building behind them had to be the school’s library.

Had they actually emptied out the library?

Fu Qian suddenly realized something.

As it turned out, his earlier judgment had been correct. Looking at the long line, there were still plenty of good, studious children.

But this, in turn, had freed up some space, making the library a relatively safe place for the moment.

Fu Qian quickly had an idea.

Just as he was about to head toward the back of the line, a piercing wail, like a howl, came from behind him.

Was there something else?

That was Fu Qian’s first thought.

The main reason was that the sound definitely didn’t seem like one a human could make.

And most crucially, it sounded very close.

While still puzzled, hurried footsteps approached, and in the next moment, a panic-stricken Liu Yi burst out of the dense fog, turning his head back as he ran.

“You’re here!”

Upon seeing Fu Qian, Liu Yi’s expression instantly brightened.

And a few seconds later, someone in a black T-shirt, with blood dripping profusely from their left shoulder, ran out in almost the exact same manner.

It seemed the worst-case scenario had occurred.

Witnessing this scene, Fu Qian almost instantly figured it out.

There was an eighty percent chance that the source of the noise just now was “her” from the duty room.

These two had an equally unmatched talent for attracting trouble.

“Be careful, the monster is catching up—” the person in the black T-shirt said, obviously startled upon seeing Fu Qian, then quickly whispered.

“I can see that.”

Without needing the warning, Fu Qian’s eyes stayed fixed on the roiling fog in front of him. The sound from just now was clearly getting closer quickly; the pursuer was definitely fast.

“I shouldn’t have ignored your advice and gone there.”

The man in the black T-shirt looked visibly annoyed.

“That thing sounded normal, but when we opened the door, it turned out to be a monster. If it weren’t for Liu Yi outside not going in, I’m afraid—”

“Is that so?”

Fu Qian responded casually, and in the next moment, saw something leap out of the fog.

To call it a monster—a conjoined form of two people—seemed apt.

The main body was a young-looking doctor dressed in a white coat, with seemingly normal facial features.

The only problem was, where his chest should have been, there was the neck of another body connected.

That body had no head, but the other parts seemed fused with him, its torso facing upward, while its limbs were eerily flipped downwards and planted on the ground, making this creature six-legged.

This…

Seeing this bizarre sight, a scene quickly came to Fu Qian’s mind.

A student feeling unwell, unable to bear it any longer, had gone to the school clinic for an emergency visit. It was then that the doctor on duty had seen him.

However, while tilting his head back for the examination, the student suddenly convulsed, crashing headfirst into the doctor.

Fu Qian guessed that something inside the student’s body had probably been triggered.

And the one who had been hiding behind the door, carrying on a conversation with him, was undoubtedly this creature.

With such a thing lurking behind the door, plotting tirelessly to lure him inside, its intentions were likely not friendly.

If he had been fooled at the time, his fate would probably have been worse than these two’s.

Fu Qian shook his head and clicked his tongue in pity.

Although its movements were strange, the conjoined monster’s speed was extremely fast. It had locked onto the trio almost instantly after bursting out of the fog.

“What do we do?”

Liu Yi’s speech already had a cry in it.

What to do? They obviously couldn’t outrun it; the creature’s speed was clearly faster than all three of them.

“Follow me.”

Fu Qian thought for a moment, then made a one hundred eighty-degree turn, heading in the direction the crowd was moving.
