Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 192: Chapter 191 Porcelain Doll (9)_1

Mr. Luo reacted incredibly fast, blocking the strange doll’s strike, and then his uninjured hand reached out without hesitation.

The counterattack was swift, yet that almost certain grasp still came up empty.

In the unbelieving stares of the group, Mr. Luo’s counter had actually missed, grabbing nothing but air.

The blood-colored puppet, having failed to strike, showed no desire to linger in battle.

Seizing the opportunity, it transformed into a streak of light and fled outward at great speed.

So fast that the nets triggered one after another couldn’t even envelop it in time.

...
“How are you?”

It wasn’t until it was far away that the group snapped out of their daze, with Miyamoto stepping forward to ask Mr. Luo.

“I’m fine.”

Mr. Luo shook his head, gently squeezed his palm, and the blood stopped instantly; even the wound itself was healing rapidly.

After treating the wound, he bent down to observe the corpse on the ground.

The sternum, as hard as it was, had a piece melted away.

This one was different from the others, seeming to have parasitized inside and devoured the flesh and blood.

“This thing is different from the others; we need to be extra cautious tonight,” he said.

With that statement from him, the somewhat settled hearts of Jane and the others lifted with concern again.

However, distracted by the sudden situation, they failed to notice that one person was already missing from the camp.

…

Fu Qian’s figure moved swiftly through the dense forest, trailing the fleeing puppet from a distance.

Its speed was not exaggerated, making the tracking not too difficult.

The tricky part was carefully controlling his force to avoid causing any disturbance with too vigorous a movement.

As such, Fu Qian was reluctant to expend even a smidgeon more energy than necessary, simply tailing from afar.

He had already gathered a rough understanding of the current information.

Regardless of what these people had in mind, Fu Qian had lost interest in staying at the camp and playing “The Legend of Zhen Huan” with them.

And this red puppet, undoubtedly the most special one he had seen so far, could not be ruled out as his target for the mission.

Thus, Fu Qian was determined not to let this clue slip away, no matter what.

He tracked for who knows how long through the endless-looking forest, having ventured quite deep by his estimation.

And as he proceeded, the density of the vegetation around him grew thicker.

Finally, after passing through a dense thicket, the scene before him cleared unexpectedly.

To his surprise, behind the dense forest lay a cluster of packed buildings.

They were mostly made of stone and appeared quite ancient, with dark green moss climbing the mottled walls.

Not far off, his target was perched atop a corpse.

The corpse seemed to be human but was extremely tall, at least two meters in height.

Below clothes that resembled tree bark, were limbs exaggeratedly robust.

He wasn’t the only victim; there were several corpses scattered haphazardly around.

And there was a girl sitting dumbly, looking as if she had been scared stiff.

Fu Qian was surprised to find that there were actually people living in such a place!

When he first sensed someone spying, his initial thought was that it might be a third-party force lying in wait, hoping to benefit from others’ misfortune.

But now, it seemed that these native inhabitants might be observing the invaders.

At this moment, the blood-colored puppet also noticed Fu Qian, deftly leaping up from the corpse.

After drinking its fill of fresh blood once more, its sheen became even more dazzling, dazzling to the point of causing dizziness.

Fu Qian could clearly feel it sizing him up.

From the current situation, this creature was not only a lone wolf but also an indiscriminate attacker, seizing any target to kill and suck blood.

The few unfortunate ones on the ground had encountered it and directly became its nourishment.

After observing for a while, the Porcelain Doll hesitated for a moment but finally pounced.

Not very smart, lad!

Fu Qian silently judged.

It was evident that, compared to its differently colored kin, it had a somewhat sharper mind, but that was about it.

Otherwise, it should be running away right now instead of attacking.

Fu Qian dodged the ambush with a swift sidestep, then raised his right hand.

A Scarlet Whip appeared out of nowhere and struck head-on.

He indeed should not exert too much strength right now, but there were alternative methods.

The Tyrant’s Fist, as a special weapon, only required a little bit of strength to activate and was just right for the current situation.

Unexpectedly, this nearly certain blow also missed.

Interesting!

Fu Qian began to understand why that Mr. Luo had missed earlier.

This Porcelain Doll must possess some peculiar ability to distort the surrounding light, creating visual misdirection for the attacker.

Such a simple trick of the eye, if unknown, often yields surprising results when first encountered.

But dealing with it was easy.

Fu Qian simply closed his eyes, no longer relying on vision to lock onto his target.

Thud!

The next moment, the Porcelain Doll rushing at him again was soundly struck by the whip.

Nearly knocked over by the blow, the Porcelain Doll tumbled several times in the air and, upon landing, seemed to realize it couldn’t overpower him, turned tail and ran, quickly disappearing into the dense forest.

Unaffected?

Now it was Fu Qian’s turn to be surprised.

Clearly having consciousness, but the mind-disrupting effect of the Tyrant’s Fist seemed ineffective on it.

He had planned to whip it into madness so he wouldn’t have to worry about it escaping, but he didn’t expect it to flee so decisively.

No wonder it was considered special material, this thing was quite mystical!

Temporarily losing his target, Fu Qian was not particularly bothered.

Looking back, the little girl who had been sitting and daydreaming had taken the chance while the Porcelain Doll was focused on him and run away.

Decisive!

Fu Qian actually rather admired this. In such a situation, knowing to seize every opportunity to survive instead of staying in place covering one’s face was commendable indeed.

Looking at the bodies on the ground, it was surprising that although each corpse appeared to be quite robust, they could be identified by their facial features as not old, and even had typical teenage characteristics.

Beyond that, what was more impressive was that each person had some strange patterns on their bodies. Some had plant-like veins covering most of their face.

Fu Qian naturally thought of the team member whose head had turned into cauliflower.

It made sense, if this group had been living here for a long time, it would be strange if they didn’t occasionally pick up a seed or two.

Being completely clean would, in fact, be abnormal.

Actually, the symptoms of this group were relatively mild, amounting to more natural tattoos, without any blown off heads.

Fu Qian recalled the sitting girl, and it seemed that the left side of her face also had faint, dark red patterns.

This just made things a tad more difficult!

Fu Qian sighed, turned the bodies over, and eventually chose one with the least complex patterns.

First, he took off the clothes and put them on, then began to sculpt his face.
