Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 165: Chapter 164 Sword Heart’s Legacy (11)_1

This guy really is reckless!

Lanaia wanted to say something but hesitated after hearing Fu Qian speak so directly.

Indeed, Jia Yi was really annoying, but such a blatant threat was definitely not good news if the Academy found out.

Especially since they had already been reported by the Swordsmanship Department.

But she had to admit, seeing Jia Yi, who had been snide for so long, unable to utter a word was oddly satisfying to her.

“Mr. Jia, if there’s no problem, then we’ll head back to report.”

...
Lanaia stood up with a smile and didn’t say much more.

…

“How exactly did you find out that Ruan Shuo was a problem?”

On the way back, Lanaia asked while driving.

“The report from Jian Jingzheng almost made you out to be a humanoid demon.”

“Actually, it was just a guess, but desperate times call for desperate measures.”

Fu Qian explained the whole process in detail.

“A prolonged dispute with those people would probably be a lengthy process, so I chose a more efficient way of handling it.”

“… What if you guessed wrong, didn’t you consider the consequences?”

“If I’m wrong, then I’m wrong,” Fu Qian said nonchalantly.

“It was just a bluff, and I wouldn’t really continue to make a move if there were no issues.”

“Later I can just explain that I’ve inhaled too many fumes from Heaven’s Commencement Institute and it’s made me a bit loopy. After all, I’m working for the country; they can’t arrest me, can they?”

Uh!

Lanaia rubbed her forehead in silence.

“Alright, I’ll try my best to coordinate things when I get back. But as far as I know, you might be called in for a talk later on. You’d better be prepared.”

“Thanks. Speaking of which, I do have a question. Isn’t this Sword Intent thing a bit too strong?”

Fu Qian clearly wasn’t worried about the situation and voiced his main concern.

“That Ruan Shuo was only at the peak of Seventh Phase, yet after activating Sword Intent, his lethality was at least at a Fifth Phase level. Isn’t this boost a bit unreasonable?”

“I used to think the Swordsmanship Department was a bit bloated, but if they all have this kind of effect, there might not be enough people.”

“I’m not sure about that.”

Lanaia shook her head.

“After all, the rise of the Swordsmanship Department has been just in recent years. Sword Intent is indeed a marvelous thing, but it has always been elusive, and the number of people in the Swordsmanship Department who have comprehended it over the years hasn’t exceeded double digits.

“That includes Li Weixuan, and I don’t remember the power being so exaggerated at the time.

“It’s only in the past few years that the number of people who have understood Sword Intent has started to increase.”

Something that was once elusive?

Yet in just the past couple of days, he had encountered three instances himself, and the power was far greater than before.

So did something special happen in these last few years?

How peculiar!

…

As it turned out, Lanaia’s judgment was very accurate.

Fu Qian had not been back long when he received a notice asking him to go to a certain meeting room.

When he arrived, he found a man and two women already seated on stage, one of them being a helpless-looking Lanaia.

Jian Jingzheng sat off to the side looking dejected and glared at him angrily.

“Professor Fu, we invited you here in relation to recent events,” said the woman with a serious face in the middle, gesturing for Fu Qian to take a seat before speaking directly.

“First, we want to thank you for your efforts in the investigation, but at the same time, you have been accused of using violence and even assaulting other instructors.”

“What we want to confirm is whether these descriptions are true?”

Hmm?

Fu Qian glanced at Jian Jingzheng, who instinctively averted his gaze.

“Yes, I did hit Mr. Jian,” he admitted.

…

The questioner’s expression cooled down.

“Since you admit it—”

“It’s just that the process might not be the same as described by Mr. Jian.”

Fu Qian interrupted her.

“I’m not sure what the usual style of the Swordsmanship Department is, but I acted against him because, knowing the student had issues, Teacher Jian tried to stop me from arresting the suspect,”

“Nonsense! Are you accusing me of harboring a suspect?”

Upon hearing Fu Qian say this, Jian Jingzheng couldn’t stay seated.

Fu Qian snorted and didn’t even glance at him.

“As someone who can’t even use a sword, I was able to sense that something was off with Ruan Shuo. Do you mean to say that a man like Teacher Jian wouldn’t notice it? No one would believe that if you said it,”

“And would you deny, Teacher Jian, that when I asked you to confirm the traces of Transcendent materials, you didn’t even bother to look and immediately declared there was no issue?”

“Is that really what happened?”

The three on the stage looked at Jian Jingzheng almost simultaneously.

“Professor Jian, you didn’t mention this in your report.”

I…

Jian Jingzheng’s face turned white, then red.

He hadn’t checked at the time, that was true, but it wasn’t because he was harboring anyone, as Fu Qian had suggested.

In such a small place, as long as one wasn’t blind, it was clear at a glance; and moreover, he was not pleased with being ordered around by this person.

He hadn’t expected this oversight to become a handle for the other party to criticize him.

“Furthermore, has Professor Jian mentioned that when Ruan Shuo realized he was exposed, he didn’t think about running away, but was ready to use both of us as a sacrifice for his sword?”

“I don’t know if allowing such a dangerous individual among the students was something Professor Jian wanted to see.”

…

The few people on the stage clearly had seen the footage provided by the Yuan Clan and knew of Ruan Shuo’s ferocity.

Fu Qian’s actions might have been rash, but letting such a person mingle with students, the consequences were unimaginable.

After exchanging looks, it was the woman in the middle who eventually spoke.

“Besides, you also violently threatened the person in charge of the Yuan Clan.”

As expected, Jia Yi had come to complain.

You could understand it as one of his few attempts at defying fate.

“Yes, I threatened him.”

Fu Qian admitted openly once again.

“CEO Jia was somewhat dragging his feet, and I believed that resolving the complication swiftly was in the Academy’s best interest.”

…

The three got the point directly.

While the killer being one of the Academy’s own was a scenario nobody wanted to face, given the fact, the faster the outcomes were provided, the more the Academy’s attitude would be clear.

The person in charge’s thought process wasn’t hard to guess. By denying the Academy’s investigation results, essentially, he wanted to sacrifice the Academy’s credibility to vouch for himself.

“Alright, we understand this matter now.”

This topic was quickly closed.

“Lastly… it seems someone mentioned you harassing a student?”

“Ji Liushuang? That’s sheer slander!”

Fu Qian was indignant.

“She had doubts about her cultivation and sought my advice.”

You’re seeking advice from you, when you’ve just admitted you can’t even wield a sword!

What could Ji Liushuang possibly consult you on, beauty and skincare?

Though based on the age listed in your data, you indeed seem to maintain yourself quite well.

However, since the person involved hasn’t complained, and nobody was injured, all they could do was give a reminder.

…

“Okay.”

After some discussion, the trio looked at Fu Qian.

“We understand the situation. Is there anything else you’d like to say?”

Is it my turn now?

“Yes, there is.”

Fu Qian’s eyebrows twitched slightly.

“Could you possibly assign Ji Liushuang to be my student?”

“… Why?”

This indeed surprised everyone present.

“She’s wasting her talent at the Swordsmanship Department.”
