Death Game: Starting as a Trickster, Pretending to Be a God

Chapter 268: Temporary Ruse, Combat Power Increase

Facing the Delta Team Leaderʼs threat, Fu Luo wasnʼt afraid at first.

He was just a team leader!

They, however, had a former Delta Team leader here, plus an A-ranked supervisor and two powerful players.

Judging by eliminating like terms…

No matter how you sliced it, the advantage was on our side!

”This guyʼs got quite the mouth. Take him down!”

After sizing things up, Fu Luo said excitedly.

But after he voiced his support…

From the serious reactions of the others, Fu Luo realized the situation might not be so simple.

And then…
The moment the Delta Team Leader on the other side made his move, Fu Luoʼs worries were confirmed.

This guy moved insanely fast!

Whoosh—

He dashed like a black afterimage toward Pang Kedo, who stood at the front.

Pang Kedo reached up to block, but at the instant of contact, he was sent flying backward as if hit by a dump truck.

Bang!

Pang Kedo smashed to the ground hard. Although he scrambled up immediately…

There was no doubt he had been thoroughly outclassed in that first exchange!

Shock and disbelief spread across Pang Kedoʼs face.

Fu Luo looked at Pang Kedo and asked puzzledly, ”Werenʼt you also some former Delta Team leader? Why the huge gap?”

”I donʼt know!” Pang Kedo answered helplessly.

He didnʼt even understand how he had become a Delta Team leader!

Luckily, Baron Coleman standing nearby knew what was going on.

”This Delta Team Leader isnʼt just a regular Security Department C-rank privilege… I think Paris transferred him up from the Great Wasteland Special Operations Unit!”

”He should have been stationed long-term in the deepest parts of the Great Wasteland.”

When Baron Coleman said that, Fu Luo jumped: ”Great Wasteland Special Operations Unit?!”

”Where did that come from? Hurry and explain!”

Lin Yu urged.

After Pang Kedo fell, the other side politely didnʼt follow up, but it was clear…

this guyʼs next target seemed to be Lin Yu.

The ”Great Wasteland Special Operations Unit” sounded famous enough that even Li Nian had heard of it.

”I wonʼt go into details… just think of it like those military backgrounds they give macho characters in Hollywood—Navy SEALs, Delta Force—something along those lines,” Fu Luo quickly said. ”Yes, that unit is Truth Corporationʼs strongest armed force!”

Once everyone seemed to grasp the situation, the Delta Team Leader finally spoke.

”Good, it seems you all have some insight, recognizing my background at first glance…”

He murmured, and the next moment he was already in front of Lin Yu, clenching his fist and swinging at him.

”Then Iʼll start with the one who knows the least about value—you!”

Pow!

With a heavy thud, Lin Yu stood in place…

motionless.

Surprise crossed the Delta Team Leaderʼs face.

”What?”

Lin Yu watched him calmly.

”A bit stronger than expected… but still, nothing special.”

He said it casually…

but Lin Yu was actually in agonizing pain!

Judging from the impact, Lin Yu estimated this hit was even more brutal than Yu Longguoʼs earlier blow.

If calculated like a Soldier, this guyʼs physical stats might be ten to fifteen times that of an ordinary person!

A punch like that to an average person would be instantly fatal!

Lin Yu could withstand the punch that Pang Kedo couldnʼt block…

entirely thanks to the Ancient Notebook!

Although Lin Yu had discovered a new use for the Ancient Notebook today, he hadnʼt forgotten its original intended purpose.

This thing had to be an excellent piece of armor!

So Lin Yu had tucked it against his lower abdomen.

Though the transmitted force still hurt, it was within tolerable limits.

More importantly, the Delta Team Leader wasnʼt just cocky—he was skilled at unarmed combat and hadnʼt used a weapon!

So his bare-fisted blow landed on the Ancient Notebook.

Even a tough man like him couldnʼt help but have his hand tremble and feel the recoil pain.

”What trick is that of yours?”

He asked instinctively.

But the Delta Team Leader had no idea…

Not engaging Lin Yu in conversation might have been easier to deal with.

If Lin Yu, as a Fraudster, were given a chance to speak…

Lin Yu lowered his voice: ”Just like you—itʼs simply a sufficiently powerful physique… although itʼs temporary.”

”Iʼm a Veterinarian;of course I must have methods to subdue beasts.”

Saying that, Lin Yu opened his hand and tossed out an empty-looking bottle.

Clatter!

The bottle hit the ground, shattering into crystal-like fragments.

The Delta Team Leader furrowed his brow, surprised: ”Did you take some forbidden potion?”

”Of course,” Lin Yu said calmly, ”though you might not recognize it. Itʼs called a Physical Enhancement Potion… plain name, but very effective.”

Fu Luo recognized the bottle and exclaimed, surprised: ”Ah, I know this—itʼs the kind the Player Mutual Aid Association sells!”

He sounded thrilled: ”Amazing. This thing grants comprehensive physical enhancement. For an ordinary person, it can boost physique by about sevenfold!”

Li Nian raised an eyebrow: ”Decisive—using such a precious potion outright.”

Hearing Fu Luoʼs explanation, Lin Yu secretly breathed easier.

If this guy could recognize it, he didnʼt have to explain the potionʼs effects himself.

The bottleʼs appearance had been constructed by a Counterfeit.

Because the Miserly Wealthy One had already activated his effect earlier, the Counterfeit hadnʼt entered cooldown after use…

Lin Yu didnʼt know whether it was Chen Zhuoʼs lucky buff or pure chance.

Even this time, the Counterfeit once again didnʼt enter cooldown.

Of course, Lin Yu wouldnʼt need the Counterfeit again in the short term.

The bottleʼs look was exactly the support item Lin Yu had seen Radish Grandpa use in the Mad Banquet Beyond Heaven dungeon!

Although Radish Grandpaʼs frontline combat ability was lacking, the old manʼs resources were indeed abundant!

Potions he produced could even affect creatures and competitions at that level.

They were certainly not common-grade.

Lin Yu had originally thought that without Chen Zhuo present, obtaining enough belief to make this real would require extra effort…

But now, the collective ”belief” from everyone present had already granted Lin Yu the power to make it happen!

He felt as if he had truly ingested the Physical Enhancement Potion, gaining bodily strength even surpassing what a typical Soldier buff would provide.

Although it was time-limited and still fell short of the manʼs raw power…

at this moment, there was no doubt Lin Yu had a fighting chance against him!

Thatʼs why he had gone to such lengths to take that risky approach and absorb the earlier punch.

Everything was so that…

the ruse which could grant him ”combat power” here would come true!
