Chapter 79: Battling with the 2nd Supreme

In this floor, Noah was standing like an eternal warrior who wouldn’t bow even to time itself. His posture was so calm, so unshakable, it seemed as if the universe had paused just to witness him. The very air around him felt heavier, charged with something ancient.

Ethan said, ”It is an honor to fight you, your highness, the 2nd supreme.” His voice was respectful, yet beneath it a steel resolve glimmered.

Noah nodded. He didn’t say any fancy word. He simply lifted his gaze and took out a spear. The spear was 2.5 meters long. It was a dark spear, looking regal and dangerous, as if it had ended countless lives and witnessed countless eras.

Noah looked at Ethan with a calm expression, like everything was under his control, like the coming clash was nothing but a formality in a story he had already read. Ethan became a bit wary. He thought, ”They should be watching the battle, right? Then what makes him so confident? Or is it just a façade?” A trace of unease flickered in his heart, but it didn’t dull the sharpness of his will.

Ethan this time didn’t conjure a sword from his element but took out his level 5 force weapon. The moment the black blade appeared, the oppressive darkness around Noah seemed to stir, recognizing a worthy rival. This sword was also black. Its edge shimmered with faint runes, whispering of extinction.

Just as Ethan was about to step toward Noah, a dark blinding light shot from Noah’s spear. The spear pulsed once, and the floor beneath them cracked like brittle ice. The light quickly absorbed the surrounding area like a dark sphere. A deep, guttural hum reverberated through every inch of the 99th floor.

It covered around 10 km radius of area. Enough space to fight with one’s heart content—and enough to drown weaker beings in despair. The moment the sphere formed, the temperature plunged as if reality itself were suffocating.

Ethan heard Noah’s voice for the first time, deep and resonant, carrying the weight of inevitability. ”Welcome to my domain, Abyss.”

This was a domain born from the dark element of Noah and an inborn weapon domain of the spear. This spear had made Noah invincible in the same realm when he was young. Those who challenged him had vanished into legend, unremembered.

Ethan immediately felt it. His strength was being suppressed, pressed down by the cold fingers of the Abyss until it was only half. It became 32 quadrillion, whereas Noah’s strength surged to 90 quadrillion, double.

”So this was why he was so confident, huh?” Ethan thought, his heartbeat echoing louder. The suffocating domain pressed against his spirit, but his gaze stayed clear. ”Doesn’t matter. I just need to land one hit on him.” Ethan’s eyes were still as calm as ever.

Noah moved. The world itself seemed to lurch. As his strength was three times more than Ethan, he was also faster, and now his footsteps made the entire darkness quake.

He disappeared and came before Ethan in less than a blink, spear streaking forward in a thrust that cracked the air. A shockwave rippled through the darkness, strong enough to erase a mountain.

But Ethan teleported from there and appeared in another place, black sword raised defensively. He activated his sword intent and absolute speed sword technique. The power shivered along his veins, desperate to erupt. Then he slashed toward Noah in a single decisive arc—but Noah also disappeared.

Noah could also teleport in his domain. He reappeared behind Ethan, his dark spear wreathed in the abyss, a reaper’s scythe poised to claim life.

”Oh ho, now that’s a tricky situation. What should I do?” Ethan muttered under his breath, feeling the cold bite of adrenaline. The spectators beyond the tower were all leaning closer, their hearts hammering in collective dread and awe.

Then Ethan started conjuring flying knives. A thousand points of black light bloomed around him, then ten thousand. Each one hummed with lethal promise. He created 10,000 flying knives and let all of them scatter in the domain like a rain of extinction.

Ethan also activated his mental domain. Where ever Noah would appear, he would strike. The darkness itself seemed to recoil under this sudden surge of killing intent.

Noah appeared and attacked from behind instantly, his spear plunging with absolute authority. Ethan counterattacked with his sword, but Noah was using an amplification technique of 20 times. It was around 1.8 quintillion, enough to obliterate anything it struck.

Ethan’s power with his sword intent was 380 quadrillion and ten times the speed, he could barely be left alive, and when the spear grazed his side, an explosion of force ripped through his elemental armor. A deep gash appeared, his ribs cracked. Pain flared white hot.

His regeneration started, skin and bone weaving back together in seconds, and he was in his peak condition again.

”Damn! I need to land one solid hit, the battle would be over,” Ethan breathed, his expression resolute. The domain seemed to press closer, hungry.

Noah again disappeared. But this time Ethan also disappeared. They were playing a cat and mouse game, teleporting in and out of the darkness in blinding flashes. Each time they reappeared, the ground erupted, the air cracked, the shadows screamed.

Ethan this time didn’t activate his sword techniques. He wanted to use the ”Eye of Destruction” he got from the bloodline.

He activated his ability. This ability let him amplify 20 times of his base strength. If something was in that power range, that thing would disintegrate instantly.

As Ethan’s mental domain was also covering this Abyss domain, Noah appeared right behind Ethan, spear poised for the final killing blow. Ethan also knew Noah was here.

But this time he gave a devilish smile, a glint of inevitability in his eyes. He uttered a single word.

”Disintegration .”

Bang.

With 664 quadrillion power range, Noah had only 90 quadrillion and a defensive skill with five times more amplification, but still was under the range.

Noah’s spear stopped a millimeter away from Ethan. His face had a look of astonishment. He also knew Eye of Destruction. But he had gotten this skill in the Planetary Realm.

How could Ethan have gotten this ability? And moreover, how could he use this now?

Slowly Noah’s body turned into light particles. The darkness dissolved with him.

The 2nd Supreme was defeated.

The outside world was numbed already. But this Eye of Destruction was a known ability to the Primordial Humans. Many had them—of course, they were all prodigies, and some got them in Star Realm or even above.

How could he achieve this ability?

With the tier 9 bloodline evolution fluid, his bloodline should be around 50% pure. Did the higher-ups give him any higher-level serum?

Even the Supremes were surprised. They knew they didn’t give him anything special.

”This boy is something else.”

Ethan said quietly, ”I need to rest.”

He teleported down to the ground floor.

He had been fighting for hours already. Those eternal prodigies had demanded real effort from him, and the Second Supreme had forced him to use everything he had. Now, he needed time to recover. Because the final opponent was ”Him”.

The progenitor of the Primordial Humans.

The Grand Supreme, Odin Astralith.

He had protected his race for eons. Even after other Supremes had risen, he remained the strongest of them all. Even the other Supremes called him Grand Supreme.

Odin was not only the strongest amongst the primordial humans, he was also the second strongest person of this universe, a level below the progenitor of the celestial race. The man was on a whole different league than others.

Ethan needed to be ready to face him. He didn’t know what was the level of power he possessed when he was an emperor realm martial artist eons ago.

He sat cross-legged, closing his eyes, steadying his breath. Calming his mind.

He rested for a full hour. In that time, not a single person from the audience left their place. They were like people possessed—no one could bear to look away, as if afraid to miss even a second.

After one hour, Ethan finally opened his eyes.

”Okay. I’m ready.”

He teleported straight to the 100th floor.

There, a man in his late twenties was quietly sipping tea.

His face wasn’t devastatingly handsome, but simply looking at it calmed Ethan’s mind. It was the kind of face that made him feel like he was a child looking at his father who returned home after ten years of missing. A closeness he couldn’t explain.

So this is the Grand Supreme, Ethan thought.

He bowed deeply. ”Grand Supreme.”

He didn’t say anything else. Nothing more was necessary.

Odin looked up at him and smiled.

That smile felt like stars falling from the sky.

”What a charismatic man”, Ethan thought with respect.

Odin slowly set down his teacup and stood up.

”Ethan,” he said, his voice calm and steady, ”I know you are very strong. So I want to fight you with the most primitive method. Bare-handed.”

He let the words sink in for a moment.

”When I was young, I never had any opponents among my own people. I fought other races, but I always used weapons and techniques. I have long craved a battle—fist to fist.”

Odin’s gaze met his, ageless and unshakable.

”What do you say? Let’s forget everything we know. Only fists against fists. Flesh against flesh.”

Ethan could tell this man held 64 quadrillion tonnes of force. The same as him.

His blood was boiling so fiercely it felt like his internal organs might be cooked.

Then Odin added, voice tinged with a quiet promise, ”Even if you can’t defeat me, if you can just satisfy my craving, I will send you a gift.”

Ethan’s eyes lit up.

A gift from the Grand Supreme himself? Damn, I want it.
