Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

Uncle Guan glanced over at Lu Huahui.

Lu Huahui hesitated for a moment before striding forward, cupping his fists and smiling, ”Young Master Chai, long time no see. How is your father?”

”Oh, it’s President Lu,” Chai Xiujin glanced at him nonchalantly.

”Young Master Chai, I know this young brother. I hope you can give me some face and let today’s matter slide,” Lu Huahui said with a smile plastered across his face.

Chai Xiujin looked at Lu Huahui, then at Lin Mo, and snorted coldly, ”President Lu knows him? Well, I don’t feel like giving face to the Lu Family today. What can you do about it?”

The moment those words were spoken, not only did Lu Huahui’s face drastically change, but Lu Huan and Pan Yaowen also turned pale simultaneously.

Uncle Guan furrowed his heavy brows, clenched his fists, and exuded a fierce aura.

The Chai and Lu families were nearly equal in power. Nonetheless, the Chai family had major backing and was slightly more powerful than the Lu family. However, Chai Xiujin was merely a junior in the Chai Family, whereas Lu Huahui was the helmsman of the Lu Family; the two were not on the same level.

Chai Xiujin’s statement was akin to a fierce slap across the face of the Lu Family.

Lu Huahui’s face turned from pale to flush, holding back his anger, he said, ”Young Master Chai, even if your father were here, he wouldn’t speak to me like that. The Lu Family is not so easily manipulated and pressed.”

”Don’t pull rank here. Your Lu family just has one Martial Artist standing by, right?” Chai Xiujin glanced at Uncle Guan, a look of contempt flashing across his face, and then spoke to an elder beside him, ”This is Elder Gu from our Chai family. Can anyone from your Lu family defeat him?”

The elder was dressed in a gray Tang suit, wearing cloth shoes, with neatly cropped hair, and small but piercingly fierce eyes.

At that moment, the female auctioneer on the auction stage, seeing that the situation seemed to be getting out of control, hurriedly stepped down from the stage and went back to report to the manager.

She knocked on the manager’s office door, seeing what usually was a domineering manager now bowing and scraping like a beaten dog, sweat streaming down his forehead.

Standing opposite the general manager was a beautiful woman dressed in a black OL suit, holding a cup of coffee.

”Hello, General Manager,” the auctioneer apparently didn’t know her.

”How did you get in here? Get out quickly,” the general manager hastened to wave her out.

”General Manager, it seems like Young Master Chai and the Lu family folk are about to start fighting outside. The situation is beyond our control,” the auctioneer said anxiously.

The beautiful woman holding the coffee turned her head, her long hair cascading over her shoulders, and her slim eyebrows slightly furrowed, ”Manager Gao, is this how you manage the business? Come out and see with me.”

”Yes, Miss,” Manager Gao wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and heaved a deep sigh.

The auctioneer quickly cleared a path, covering her mouth in surprise. This woman was actually the Jia Family’s young lady; the Jia Family’s young lady had actually come here.

Inside the auction hall, many were watching the scene unfold like a drama.

Elder Gu stepped forward, his gaze coldly fixed on Uncle Guan, ”Your strength is commendable, just one step away from the realm of a High-level Martial Emperor.”

Continuing, Elder Gu shook his head, his voice suddenly rising, his eyes sparking with intensity, ”Unfortunately, you haven’t taken that step; otherwise, you would have been worthy of battling me.”

Uncle Guan’s face suddenly changed, ”Could it be that you... you are a Peak Martial Emperor?”

Hearing Uncle Guan’s words, Lu Huahui, Lu Huan, and Pan Yaowen turned pale.

Although they weren’t versed in Martial Arts, Uncle Guan had been with the Lu Family for over a decade and often spoke about the Martial Arts World. A single Peak Martial Emperor could dominate a city and become a leader of the highest caliber.

Though Uncle Guan hadn’t reached the realm of a Peak Martial Emperor, he had helped the Lu Family become the foremost family in the city. It was evident how formidable a true Peak Martial Emperor would be.

As he spoke, Elder Gu’s expression was indifferent. He stretched out his palm, grasped at the air as if holding a steel knife, and swung it. A blade of air cut across, splitting a chair in half from a distance of several meters.

Everyone in the room widened their eyes and gaped, unable to believe the scene before them.

Capturing the wind as a blade, such strength, if not that of a Peak Martial Emperor, then what?

Uncle Guan’s face turned white; he released his palm and sighed, ”President Lu, I’m no match for him, we should leave.”

Lu Huahui, Lu Huan, and Pan Yaowen were struck dumb.

Others, unaware of the existence of Martial Artists, were even more astounded to the extreme. How could a human possess such power!

If such a person were armed with modern weapons, it would make them an undefeatable force.

Chai Xiujin looked at the drastically changing expressions of the Lu Family and then at the shocked and horrified faces around him, a proud smile spreading across his face. This time, the Chai Family and Zong Family had sent a Peak Martial Emperor to help, or else how could he have had the confidence to openly challenge Lu Huahui?

Just then, a commotion rose from behind, and the crowd parted to make way for a woman dressed in a black OL (office lady) suit and high heels, followed by a fat, greasy-faced man in a suit.

”Manager Gao, this is a matter between me and the Lu Family,” Chai Xiujin said upon seeing the greasy-faced man, frowning.

”Young Master Chai, this lady is Lady Duanmu of the Jia Family,” Manager Gao said, kowtowing and groveling.

Chai Xiujin glanced at her and was momentarily stunned—bright, beautiful eyes, a melon-seed shaped face, a tall nose, cherry lips, and a tight-fitting suit outlining a graceful figure, with long, straight legs wrapped in elegant flesh-toned stockings; her high heels accentuated her tall, slender, and cool demeanor.

Her long, ink-black hair draped over her shoulders like dark flowing clouds.

”So, it’s Lady Duanmu from the Jia Family. I am Chai Xiujin,” he said, his eyes shining upon seeing the beautiful woman.

Other men reacted similarly upon seeing Duanmu Xiang, their eyes lighting up for such a rare beauty, especially since she was the heiress of the Jia Family.

The Jia Family was the largest auction house in Huaxia, even ranking first in Southeast Asia and known as the Sotheby’s of Asia.

Yet, their family background was exceedingly mysterious, with a presence in every provincial capital, but very few had ever seen core members of the Jia Family, let alone the heiress.

Though no one knew the true wealth of the Jia Family, comparing them, even the four major families of the Northeast would likely fall short.

Thus, while Chai Xiujin lusted after the beauty, he dared not desecrate her.

Duanmu Xiang didn’t even glance at Chai Xiujin; instead, her gaze swept around and stopped on a handsome young man, her eyes sparkling as she quickly approached:

”Mr. Lin, so it turns out to be you gracing us with your presence!”

Lin Mo stood proudly in place, slightly frowning, and spoke indifferently, ”How so? Do you know me?”

”Mr. Lin, we have never met face to face, but two years ago, you entrusted Lord Haotian in Shu Province to auction some items for you. I wanted Lord Haotian to arrange a meeting with you, but it seemed you were too busy and forgot,” Duanmu Xiang said respectfully.
