Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

Yingchuan wasn’t very large, Lin Mo casually entered a restaurant, a very ordinary Chinese restaurant, approximately of intermediate class, but by this time, close to noon, it was already filled with people.

With Lin Mo’s current cultivation, he could go without food and drink for a week without a problem, his eating at the restaurant was merely to gather some information.

The restaurant was filled with ordinary people, many dressed in down jackets and cotton-padded clothes, all in modern attire, yet Lin Mo could sense the presence of several Martial Cultivators within the restaurant.

Lin Mo casually ordered some food and pretended to eat, while spreading his Divine Sense to eavesdrop on the conversations of others.

To his left, across three tables, a middle-aged man and a young man and woman were talking.

”Uncle Master, is the news really true? I heard that the Flood Dragon is about to appear?”

”I only heard it too, there’s nothing happening at home, so I thought it might be good to take you out to see it, put an end to watching the sky in idleness.”

”Uncle Master, it would be great if this news is true, if we could get some flesh and blood from the Flood Dragon and bring it back for Alchemy, maybe I could break through to the Emperor Realm before I turn thirty!” the young man whispered.

The middle-aged man frowned and said, ”Martial Arts Cultivation is also about personal cultivation, relying on external items is ultimately inappropriate and might even ruin your future prospects. Medicinal aids should only be used as a supplement. To become a Martial Emperor, you need True Qi, Martial Arts Will, and Martial Arts skills, all three combined and solidified together.”

Lin Mo frowned slightly, listening to their conversation, these Martial Artists that appeared in Yingchuan were indeed here for the Flood Dragon. However, this information he had got from the Tan Family, and even the Tan Family didn’t seem to know, only the people from the Black Witch Sect probably knew, could the news have been released by the Black Witch Sect?

However, the Sect of the Joy Sect was just in the Northeast Region, they should also know about the Falling Dragon in Yingchuan.

Lin Mo’s Divine Sense then landed on two bearded men sitting by the window, both dressed in thick fur coats with fluffy hats, whispering to each other.

”Big brother, now that the Fallen Dragon Mountain Range has opened, do we brothers have a chance to make a fortune?”

”Hehe, make a fortune? Do you think the people from the Black Witch Sect, Joy Sect, and Green Dragon Gang are fools? We wouldn’t even get a turn. Besides, I heard that Shadow Kill seems to be heading this way too, probably also for the Fallen Dragon.”

”The Black Witch Sect, Joy Sect, Green Dragon Gang, aren’t they all after Lin Mo? If they start fighting, then we brothers can take the opportunity to make a fortune.”

”We’ll see when the time comes, better to go back to the hotel and rest well, tomorrow there are things to do at the Juling Mountain Range, we’ll see how it goes.”

Lin Mo withdrew his Divine Sense.

”Juling Mountain Range?” Lin Mo narrowed his eyes slightly, paying the bill and leaving the restaurant. After leaving, Lin Mo strolled through the park, gathering some legends about the Falling Dragon from some elderly men and women.

It had shocked the entire nation at the time, but back then, the network wasn’t well-developed, and not many people knew about it, let alone seen it personally. However, Lin Mo also gathered a lot of information; this place might indeed house the body of a Flood Dragon.

Lin Mo then inquired about the Juling Mountain Range, to the north of Yingchuan lay a continuous range of undulating mountains, like a green barrier cutting across the sky. Most eerie was that the mountain range was enveloped in year-long clouds and mist, and anyone who entered the mountain would vanish, no one ever walked out alive, thus locals also called it Death Mountain, generally no one dared to delve deep into it.

Resting for one night, Lin Mo sat in his room, practicing his breathing, adjusting his body to its optimal state.

As the Moon Rabbit set, the Golden Crow rose, refracting a splendid array of colorful lights through the clouds and mist.

Soon, Lin Mo left the hotel and set out.

Two hours later, they arrived near the mountain range.

However, by then, the foot of the mountain was already filled with Martial Artist Bodyguards dressed in black clothes and pants, approximately a hundred people in total, blocking off the entire entrance to the mountain. They even prohibited the nearby villagers from going up.

”Grandma, aren’t you going up the mountain?” Lin Mo saw an old lady with a bent back, carrying a bamboo basket being turned away and couldn’t help but ask.

”Ah, I can’t go up the mountain anymore; it’s been sealed off by Master Wei, and he doesn’t allow us to go up,” the old lady said with a light cough and sighed.

Lin Mo’s eyes slightly furrowed and he asked, ”Who is Master Wei?”

”Young man, you’re not from around here, are you? You don’t even know Wei Zhongkui?” the old lady kindly explained, ”He’s the most powerful man around here; we can’t afford to offend him. I advise you to leave quickly; with these people here, something must be going on.”

After speaking, the old lady, carrying her bamboo basket, started walking toward the village.

Lin Mo narrowed his eyes slightly and then strode towards the mountain entrance. He could circle around to get up, but that would waste a lot of time.

Just as he reached the mountain entrance, a Martial Artist Bodyguard dressed in black stepped forward, his gaze coldly fixed on Lin Mo, ”Mr. Wei has ordered that this mountain is sealed off. No unauthorized persons may enter.”

Lin Mo lifted his hand, about to take out these people and enter the mountain, when he suddenly heard a familiar voice, ”Uncle, is there really a Flood Dragon here?”

Turning his head, he saw a woman dressed in black leather pants and a white down jacket, standing next to a middle-aged man dressed in a purple, gold-trimmed Tang suit, around fifty years old, followed by a group of strictly organized Martial Artist Bodyguards.

”I’m not sure if it’s true,” the middle-aged man in the Tang suit said.

”Hey, what are you doing here? No entry is allowed, hurry up and leave,” a Martial Artist Bodyguard following the middle-aged man barked at Lin Mo.

The middle-aged man and the woman beside him looked up and saw Lin Mo standing at the mountain entrance.

”Eh, why is it you?” the woman exclaimed.

This woman was Zhang Yuxuan, who Lin Mo had rescued yesterday, though he hadn’t expected to encounter her here.

The man in the Tang suit frowned and asked suspiciously, ”Xiao Xuan, do you know him?”

”Uncle, didn’t I tell you yesterday that I was robbed? He’s the one who saved me; he knows Martial Arts,” Zhang Yuxuan honestly said.

The middle-aged man in the Tang suit waved his hand, and the Martial Artist Bodyguards blocking Lin Mo stepped back.

”Young man, my name is Wei Zhongkui. May I know your esteemed name?” Wei Zhongkui’s face showed a friendly expression as he asked with a bow.

Wei Zhongkui was the underground king of Yingchuan, rich and bold. Having risen to this position, he was perceptive. Noticing that in such cold weather Lin Mo was dressed in a single robe yet seemed unfazed by the cold, and had single-handedly thrown two robbers, he must be a Martial Cultivator.

”Lin Mo,” Lin Mo responded.

Zhang Yuxuan smiled and said, ”I thought you had already gone home. What brings you here?”

(First update, also to mention, I’ve written a total of fifteen million characters in novels, and I’ve forgotten exactly how many novels I’ve written, so sometimes if you find the plot familiar, perhaps you’ve seen my older books on other websites. If you encounter a similar plot, you can choose to skip it or stop reading.)
