Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 1291: Chapter 1290: Yancy Hastings, Come On, Prove Yourself

Nia Mitchell apologetically asked for leave from Brother Luo once again, then lay on the big bed waiting for Maxwell Peary to come back.

Not even three minutes after hanging up the phone, EdbertNia Mitchell’s call came through.

Nia Mitchell: ........

Could she say she didn’t want to answer it?

But...

After all, they were once friends, and now she hoped they could still continue to be friends.

”Hello?”

”Nia Mitchell, why did you take leave again? We are friends, can you let me know next time too? I don’t want to hear about you from others.”

EdbertNia Mitchell quickly rattled off a long string of words upon hearing Nia Mitchell’s voice.

”I have something to deal with, so I took leave.”

Nia Mitchell didn’t explicitly say she was injured; she didn’t need EdbertNia Mitchell’s concern or sympathy,

”Nia Mitchell, we are friends.”

”I know we are friends.”

It was precisely because they were still friends that she felt so uncomfortable.

If they weren’t friends, she wouldn’t have to struggle to make a decision.

”Then tell me, what’s really going on with you?”

”Aren’t there lots of things about me online? I want to lay low for a bit, is that reason enough?”

Maxwell Peary had told her about this matter on their way back.

The reason she was dragged into the online mess was just to generate clicks and views since she was associated with Silvia Waterborne.

It’s likely that soon, rumors about Evelyn Peary’s alleged boyfriend could appear.

So, the best approach for Nia Mitchell was to not respond and simply disappear.

Additionally, since she was injured, it was a perfect excuse to take leave and recuperate at home.

Brother Luo naturally knew this was the best way to handle the situation, so when Nia Mitchell asked for leave, he readily agreed without a second thought.

”Alright, since you’re taking leave, there’s nothing I can do. Do you need my help with this matter?”

”No, I trust my husband.”

Nia Mitchell immediately brought up Maxwell Peary to ward off EdbertNia Mitchell.

Hearing Nia Mitchell mention her husband, EdbertNia Mitchell was momentarily stunned.

”Are you sure that’s the right choice for you? Maxwell Peary isn’t as simple as you think, nor someone you can easily match.”

”EdbertNia Mitchell, you better not speak carelessly about things between Maxwell Peary and me. I admit I have no status or background, I’m quite ordinary, and I might be reaching for someone like Maxwell Peary, but we are doing very well and are very happy.”

Nia Mitchell was a bit angry, not expecting EdbertNia Mitchell to say such things.

”Okay, I was wrong.”

After saying that, EdbertNia Mitchell immediately hung up the phone.

Listening to the busy signal from her phone, Nia Mitchell furrowed her brows.

Did it have to be like this?

It was so inexplicable.

Sometimes, the difference between people can be significant; some will call to ask if you need help, while others will go out of their way to solve it for you.

The one who helped quietly was clearly Charles Northwood.

Seeing this storm had subsided more than the previous day, Charles Northwood sat somewhat relieved in front of his computer.

On the screen was an open email, and within the email, there was a photograph attached.

The photo featured Yancy Hastings.

Decked out in a black trench coat, his eyes were filled with a fierce killing intent, holding a gun in his hand, with a very shallow scar on his face.

This version of him seemed like a messenger from the black Hell, making people afraid to take another look.

Charles Northwood frowned.

Terrorist?

Why had Yancy Hastings become like this?
