Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 1040: Chapter 1039: A Bunch of Quacks! (4 more)

As a foreign medical team, they still understood some Chinese, so they naturally understood Ye Haochuan’s words.

”Ignore him, inject!” One of the foreigners, evidently their leader, barked at the other three.

...

At this moment, Ye Haochuan was feeling down, but suddenly a few gorgeous nurses revealed their long, snow-white legs. His eyes lit up, and he feasted on the sight, his frustrations instantly dissipating like smoke.

With his troubles gone, Ye Haochuan strode toward the hospital entrance. A few minutes later, he was about to leave the hospital, but just as he reached a corner, an old man rushed by and collided with him.

”Ouch!”

As an Ancient Martial Artist, Ye Haochuan’s physique was sturdy. The old man crashing into him was like hitting a steel plate. He fell to the ground instantly, letting out a painful grunt.

”Sorry about that, sir. Are you okay?” Ye Haochuan quickly helped the old man up.

”Huh? Elder Liu?” Upon seeing the man’s face, Ye Haochuan let out a surprised exclamation—the old man in front of him was none other than Liu Yuanxiao, the deputy director of Huaxia’s First People’s Hospital.

Liu Yuanxiao also recognized Ye Haochuan and called out in surprise, ”Little Ye, what are you doing here?”

”I was asked to treat a patient, but his family wouldn’t agree. I’m not one to impose, so I was heading back.” Ye Haochuan replied indifferently.

”Is that so? Well, they’re truly blind. To think they wouldn’t trust someone with your incredible medical skills.” Liu Yuanxiao said. A doctor capable of curing congenital heart disease without surgery—such expertise was rare even globally.

Suddenly, Liu Yuanxiao seemed to recall something and grabbed Ye Haochuan by the arm. ”Little Ye, I know your skills are exceptional. Could you do an old man a favor?”

”Elder Liu, you’re too polite. Tell me what it is—if I can help, I’ll do my best.” Ye Haochuan responded.

”Well... it’s like this. Over half a month ago, the chairman of Haotian Group transferred his son to our hospital. But midway through treatment, for some unknown reason, his son’s condition worsened drastically—his body began festering and oozing pus, yet there’s no clear explanation.” Liu Yuanxiao sounded deeply distressed; the situation had kept him sleepless for many nights.

Ye Haochuan’s expression filled with irony—it turned out the person he was supposed to save was the same one. He sighed. ”Elder Liu, it’s not that I don’t want to help—it’s just that the family simply isn’t worth it.”

”Could it be...”

”Yes.”

”Damn it!”

Seeing Ye Haochuan nod, Liu Yuanxiao was utterly speechless and cursed outright. To think such a highly skilled doctor had been turned away—what a ridiculous situation.

Ye Haochuan shrugged, indicating it was simply the truth, then added, ”Elder Liu, you’re in such a rush—could it be something’s happened to him?”

”Exactly. The chairman of Haotian Group just called me, saying his son started foaming at the mouth and convulsing...”

After Liu Yuanxiao roughly described Zhang Jianhui’s current state, Ye Haochuan sneered and muttered, ”What a bunch of quacks.”

”What’s wrong?” Liu Yuanxiao asked.

”I checked earlier—Jianhui’s festering wounds aren’t due to bacterial infection. It’s because his internal organs have suffered varying degrees of damage.”

”And Elder Liu, you know that in Traditional Chinese Medicine, the five organs represent the Five Elements: metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. His symptoms are a result of an imbalance in the Five Elements. I already used acupuncture in Haishan to balance his element flow, but I didn’t expect his family to be so negligent. Now, here we are.” Ye Haochuan explained.

”Ah, I see now—that explains why we couldn’t identify the cause of the illness.” Liu Yuanxiao suddenly understood, then asked, ”Little Ye, since you know what the symptoms stem from, can you cure him?”

”Curing him isn’t a problem. It’s just a bit troublesome.” Ye Haochuan nodded.

”Then, could you lend a hand?” Liu Yuanxiao pleaded.

Hearing this, Ye Haochuan shook his head. ”Healing the sick is indeed a medical practitioner’s duty, but my skills aren’t cheap nor meant for currying favor with the powerful. Since the Zhang family refused my help, why should I bother saving him?”

After saying this, Ye Haochuan ignored Liu Yuanxiao’s sigh and walked away.

Watching him leave, Liu Yuanxiao shook his head and hurried toward the critical care unit.

Inside the critical care unit.

On the hospital bed, Zhang Jianhui convulsed and foamed at the mouth. All the unbroken abscesses on his body had burst open, leaving him bathed in pus and blood. Even though the staff had seen all kinds of disgusting things before, the scene before them still churned their stomachs.

”You incompetent fools! If anything happens to my son, I swear I’ll make you all share his fate!” Xia Lingqing, seeing her son so disfigured, immediately pounced on the foreign medical team.

The four were startled and quickly dodged, pretending to remain composed. ”Mrs. Xia, this is merely a normal reaction to the anti-toxin serum injection. Please wait patiently.”

”Do you take me for an idiot? Can’t I see what’s happening to my son myself?” Xia Lingqing roared furiously.

”Mrs. Xia, are you questioning our team’s abilities?” The foreign team leader’s expression darkened.

”Abilities? I’ll *ability* your goddamn ass, you pack of quacks!”

”Frank, it seems Mrs. Xia truly doubts us. Well then, we’ll leave right now.”

”Leave? Not so fast. Guards, arrest them!” Zhang Hengyi’s face was equally grim—how could he not know their intentions? After failing to cure the boy, they were trying to flee. Not a chance.

Following Zhang Hengyi’s orders, two bodyguards rushed in and easily floored the foreign medical team within moments.

”Second Brother, do you still doubt Doctor Ye’s ability to cure Jianhui? Didn’t you hear what he said before leaving?” Zhang Zongyao asked.

”I...”

Zhang Hengyi was at a loss for words; the current situation perfectly verified Ye Haochuan’s predictions. What could he possibly say?

”Big Brother, why don’t you try asking Doctor Ye again?” Zhang Hengyi suggested.

Zhang Zongyao shook his head in exasperation and dialed Ye Haochuan’s number. ”Doctor Ye, I must apologize for earlier. On behalf of my second brother, I extend my sincerest apologies.”

”President Zhang apologizing to a fraud—I dare not accept it. I know what you’re about to say, but let me tell you something first. I am a doctor, and saving lives is my duty, but some people’s attitudes make it difficult for me to help. Treating someone also depends on fate. Your nephew and I simply lack that connection. Please find someone more capable.”

Ye Haochuan hung up the call, sneering. ”They call on me when I’m needed and kick me aside when I’m not. Do they think I’m some lackey to summon and dismiss at will? Ridiculous.”
