Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

Spiritual Energy Crystals

The crowbar pierced through the colored gas, precisely hitting the formless object at the core of the egg-shaped structure. Lin Ye’s right hand instantly vaporized, becoming part of the colored gas.

The formless object shattered under the crowbar’s impact. The egg-shaped structure burst open, and the gas inside spread outward.

Lin Ye quickly moved away from the gas. He didn’t want to die right when everything was almost over.

After the egg-shaped structure broke apart, the substance transformation inside him stopped, but his body was already on the verge of collapse. It wouldn’t be long before he died here.

’Why isn’t it over yet? Do I have to die to end the simulation? Or do I need to find a way to crawl back?’

Lin Ye crawled bit by bit toward the crowbar. Just then, a figure appeared behind him.

”Not bad work.”

The figure walked over to the crowbar first, picked it up along with the broken pieces of the formless object.

It was an organization member in uniform.”Are you the organization’s backup plan, or a cult follower?”

Lin Ye lay on the ground, staring calmly at the other person. The simulation hadn’t ended yet, which meant he hadn’t resolved this abnormal incident.

”I am indeed the organization’s backup. But you should have received the clarity solvent I sent up.”

The cultist flashed an excited grin. This time, he had not only obtained the deity’s corpse but also the organization’s special research project. As long as he could escape with these two things, he could complete this mission perfectly.

”So you’re not the mastermind behind this abnormal incident?”

Lin Ye felt a headache coming on. He had discovered a very fatal problem.

He shouldn’t have connected the route map from the Giant Creature to the deity’s splicing.

The information the Giant Creature provided was that, as a sacrificial offering, everything it had flowed to this location.

The information Lady A provided was that beneath the underwater facility slept a deity.

No one had said this egg-shaped object was the deity. No one had said this egg-shaped object triggered this abnormal incident.

Perhaps this abnormal incident was related to the egg-shaped object, but the egg-shaped object wasn’t the key point.

”I don’t have that kind of ability. The thing that triggered this abnormal incident has already been dealt with by you.”

The cultist replied with a smile.

”Sorry, but you might be celebrating too early. What I dealt with wasn’t the so-called deity, but the substance converter. If there really is a deity here, it should come check on the situation.”

Lin Ye felt a bit miserable. In his current state, forget dealing with a deity—he couldn’t even handle the cultist in front of him.

”...Are you trying to trick me? I’m no fool.”

The cultist turned around, intending to flee with the goods in hand, but the moment he looked back, he saw bizarre eyeballs growing all over the surrounding objects, all of them staring intently at the two of them.

A black thread covered in egg-shaped objects slithered behind those objects. That black thread was hundreds of meters long, its width constantly shifting.

”...Do you have any items that can teleport us out?”

Lin Ye felt this simulation might be ending soon.

”...If I had something like that, I’d have used it already. Aren’t you supposed to be the research project that can resolve abnormal incidents 100% of the time? Get up and deal with it!”

The cultist didn’t dare move at all. That black thread had already surrounded them. Running outward would mean certain death.

”Is it possible that only the abnormal incidents I resolve personally get recorded in the research project?”

Lin Ye spoke words that nearly broke the cultist’s spirit.

”...Damn organization! How can you be so unreliable?! Don’t you have any research spirit?!”

The cultist thrust his hand into his own body and pulled out a spiritual energy crystal filled with spiritual energy.

Lin Ye’s eyes lit up. He recalled the special spiritual imprint in his mind, reached out and grabbed the crowbar, then suddenly lunged forward with a Heavy Strike, smashing the cultist’s skull.

”Thanks for the gift. The organization would never dare send spiritual energy crystals my way. It’s great that you’re a cultist.”

Lin Ye crushed the spiritual energy crystal. A massive surge of spiritual energy poured out from within. The cultist’s corpse rose back to its feet—Lin Ye used this corpse to create a fleshy body.

The black thread was still slithering closer. Lin Ye opened the World of Ashes, and a torrent of ash poured out, quickly repairing his body.

But the World of Ashes consumed a tremendous amount of energy, and the spiritual energy inside the crystal was nearly depleted.

Lin Ye controlled the fleshy body to use Red Flash, charging toward the black thread. But before the fleshy body even got close, it turned into a pile of malformed objects.

”Damn, how do I fight this?”

Lin Ye tried covering the black thread with ashes, but even those were affected by the egg-shaped objects, turning into all kinds of differently structured debris.

The black thread kept narrowing its range. Lin Ye racked his brain for a way to deal with it, but no matter what touched the black thread, it got transformed into something else.

Even spiritual energy couldn’t get close to that black thread.

He didn’t try throwing the crowbar at the black thread. That was the only thing in his hands that could touch the egg-shaped objects.

Suddenly, a surge of anger welled up inside Lin Ye. He wanted to rush forward and tear apart the black thread that was closing in.

’No! Charging in now would only mean death. There’s nothing else I can do!’

Just then, a question struck Lin Ye.

’If it really is a deity with invincible power, why is it trying to anger me?’

’Why is it circling around me instead of coming straight for me?’

Lin Ye instantly thought of a possibility.

’It can only move like this! And its movement speed isn’t fast, so it needs to provoke its enemy into approaching it!’

’Those egg-shaped objects affect it too! It has to maintain a certain stable state to keep carrying those things around!’

Both the anger and the special spiritual imprint were affecting Lin Ye’s ability to think clearly. He poured the remaining pouch of orange-red powder into his mouth. The clarity solvent instantly cleared away those distracting thoughts, allowing him to focus on the problem.

’So I just need to break its stability to resolve this abnormal incident!’

’The only thing on me that’s immune to that transformation power is the crowbar. And even if I throw the crowbar away, I can still get it back.’

’Should I try throwing it?’

’No. This black thread is probably some kind of conscious creature. If I show that I can threaten it, it’ll definitely use everything it has to take me out. So my first strike has to heavily wound it—or even finish it off in one shot.’

’Ignoring the simulation, I might only have one chance to strike!’

Lin Ye stared at the approaching black thread. He had to destroy one of those egg-shaped objects. Only then would there be a chance to severely wound the black thread.

He carefully observed the overall structure of the black thread and the egg-shaped objects attached to it. The black thread possessed a startling stability and aesthetic harmony, but those egg-shaped objects disrupted that stability and beauty, throwing the entire structure into a constant state of fluctuation.

Lin Ye quickly chose his target.
