Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

“What a pity!”

Mia wore a very pained expression. If that old geezer had woken up just a bit later, she could have gotten her hands on that Metal Sphere.

“It’s already pretty good to have gotten two items. I’ll give you one; which one do you want?”

Lin Ye toyed with the silver ring. If he wasn’t mistaken, this ring should be a relic.

And it was a mental relic at that. Lin Ye felt he had struck it rich this time.

“I’m fine with either; you pick one... You have no idea what that sphere is worth. These two items are decent, but even combined, they might not be worth a fraction of that sphere.”

Mia looked at Lin Ye with sorrowful eyes.

“Then I’ll take this ring... Is that sphere really that valuable? Want to go back? If the value is high enough, we could find a few helpers and go together.”

Lin Ye tossed the card to Mia, then placed the ring into the pocket of his Sacrificial Night gown.

The pocket of the Sacrificial Night gown could hold a lot of things, and there was still that book from before inside.“That thing is a relic capable of maintaining a storage point of that scale in the depths of the mental world for a long time, and even I couldn’t catch it. If you got your hands on that relic, you could even establish a long-term base deep in the mental world.

But that old thing has definitely already taken the sphere and run off; it’s too late now.”

Mia put away the card, speaking with great regret.

“Then what if we chased after it now? As long as we’re not inside the storage point, you should be able to take him out, right?”

Lin Ye still couldn’t fully grasp the value of that sphere, but since Mia said it was very valuable, he could put in a little effort for it.

“Uh, even outside, we probably couldn’t beat that old geezer. It was likely sleeping deep in the mental world before; without strength close to that of a deity, there’s no way to stay in a place like that.”

Mia said somewhat awkwardly.

“... Didn’t you say it wasn’t dangerous? Wait, so these passageways can connect to the depths of the mental world?!”

Lin Ye decided to lower the reliability rating of Mia in his mind.

“Would you store your important items in the shallow parts of the mental world? Storage points are basically all in the depths, though different ones are at different depths.

Aren’t you underestimating this passageway a bit? I put a ton of effort into making this thing; it can automatically search for unstable areas that might be storage points, even reaching the deepest parts of the mental world!”

Mia said proudly.

“This adventure was really fun. The cruise ship should be arriving soon; we should probably head back now.”

Lin Ye just wanted to get back to fishing by the seaside. This woman was actually trying to take him to the very depths of the mental world.

“Don’t rush! We’ve only just started. I still want to dig up a few more relics to trade with others. You don’t need to worry about safety. As long as we don’t dig into a deity’s territory, I can guarantee your safety.”

Mia grabbed Lin Ye, flashing a fawning smile.

“... This thing can dig into a deity’s territory? So it’s a digging machine? Are we tomb-raiding here?”

Lin Ye wanted to go fishing even more now.

“Although a deity’s territory and a storage point are somewhat similar, the scale is completely different. Don’t worry, I won’t take you to some dangerous place to die.”

Mia patted her chest in assurance.

“... Can you distinguish between different deities?”

Lin Ye didn’t try to connect to his divine seat; he was afraid of making contact with that Abyssal Evil God.

After all, this was the mental world, and compared to his divine seat, that Abyssal Evil God was probably much closer to him.

“Don’t overthink things; you’re scaring me.”

Mia took a step back. She was very aware of the complicated relationships surrounding Lin Ye. She just wanted to make some money, not get involved with any of that messy stuff.

“What are you afraid of? Aren’t you on good terms with the Lord of Emerald Capital?”

Lin Ye wasn’t actually trying to dig up things on a deity’s territory. He wanted to use this chance to understand the nature of deities. If he just took a quick look from the outside, the other party probably wouldn’t get mad.

“No, my relationship with Them is just so-so... It’s best we don’t discuss topics related to deities here.”

Mia warned.

“Fine, then let’s go to the next storage point. But this is the last one.”

Lin Ye was still willing to listen to reason.

“The last one? I have a few more decent storage points, but they’re just decent. None of them are good enough to be the last one.”

Since the topic they just discussed was a bit dangerous, Mia also felt it was about time to head back.

“Then what do we do? We can’t just pick one at random, can we?”

Lin Ye didn’t know how to find a valuable storage point.

“Don’t you have a Fate Rule Fragment? You can rely on the guidance of fate to find a storage point related to you.”

Mia had thought of this method earlier. She felt that relying on Lin Ye’s complicated fate, they would definitely find a storage point filled with rare items.

“I’m not really fond of relying on fate to point the way. I prefer making my own choices... Aren’t you afraid fate might lead us right into a sinkhole?”

Lin Ye saw right through Mia’s plan, but he wasn’t keen on using the Fate Rule Fragment, because things related to him were always dangerous.

“Relax, as long as it’s not a deity’s territory, I can get us out of there. If we do stumble onto a deity’s territory, we’ll just run away immediately. There definitely won’t be any problems.”

Mia said with great confidence.

“... Fine. I hope you don’t regret this.”

Lin Ye used that special Fate Rule Fragment. Guided by the power of the rule, he stepped into a passageway.

Mia and Alice followed behind Lin Ye. They walked for nearly an hour before stopping outside a blurry, indistinct area.

“This is it. I don’t know what’s ahead. You first confirm if this is a deity’s territory.”

Lin Ye turned to look at Mia.

“Mm... This isn’t a deity’s territory, but it doesn’t feel like a storage point either... It looks like a mental world... No, that’s not right either. There shouldn’t be such a special, unstable area at the periphery of a mental world. So... is this an exceptionally large storage point?”

Mia’s eyes lit up. This was the first time she had seen such a huge storage point. The old geezer’s storage point from before couldn’t even be compared to this.

“I have a bad feeling about this. Maybe we should retreat.”

Something like this, which even a local like Mia had never seen before, was bound to be extremely dangerous.

“No way! We pull this one off, and we can retire. How can you resist that?”

Mia said, her face full of excitement.

“I haven’t even started in this line of work yet.”

Lin Ye was a bit speechless. He didn’t even know what this line of work was called.

“That doesn’t matter. Let’s just go in for one look. If it’s dangerous inside, I’ll get us out of here immediately. Unless there’s a deity hiding inside, no one can catch us.”

Mia promised Lin Ye.
