Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

”Just used it, I changed the alienation direction of my right hand. No, this is practically an optimization. I feel fantastic now.”

”Because I used mutation cards before, my right foot was starting to affect normal movement. I just used a portion of alienation powder, and now my right foot feels even better than my left.”

”This is practically optimization powder. Is the system information a bit inaccurate?”

”Could it be that we’re just too weak? Brother Lin’s Nighttime Activity difficulty is extremely high, the items he gets are also high-plane items, that’s why they’re so effective for us?”

”Holy crap, now that you mention it, that really seems to be the case.”

”Is there any big shot willing to try it out, see the gap between them and Brother Lin?”

”Big brothers, I’m a student. My alienation symptoms are severe right now, begging for a portion of powder to save my life!”

”Even if you were livestock, it wouldn’t matter.”

”Didn’t expect the student faction to appear again. I thought they were all dead.”

...After finishing breakfast, closing the group chat and music box, Lin Ye first went to the Rule Mining Area to mine for an hour before returning to the bed in the shelter. Hugging the Red-Skinned Penguin, he began his daily simulation.

[Simulated D-Class personnel: Nikolai]

[Acquired special skill: Sliding]

[Sliding]

[You can slide to dodge enemy attacks. Colliding with obstacles will cause the slide to stop]

[Note: So how do I stop?]

Buzz buzz buzz...

It was another prison transport vehicle start this time. Lin Ye opened his eyes. He was sitting in the familiar prison transport vehicle, surrounded by his D-Class personnel companions.

Nikolai was a bald middle-aged man with fairly decent physical fitness.

The prison transport vehicle had the usual configuration: four D-Class personnel, three overseers, one squad leader, and one driver.

Lin Ye turned his head to look at the scenery outside the car window. They were moving on the highway. Outside the highway were neatly arranged fields. The environment had almost no spiritual energy.

’The organization’s method of clearing spiritual energy is truly terrifying.’

Even if Lin Ye’s main body appeared in such a place, he would gradually lose power due to the lack of spiritual energy in the environment.

But even though the organization has such methods, this plane still experiences various terrifying crises.

They even need to rely on ordinary people like D-Class personnel to take the front line.

’This plane is just too awful...’

Lin Ye looked out the window, thinking about information related to the plane where the organization was located.

After a while, Lin Ye turned to look at the driver in front. He was already starting to feel something was off.

’Why aren’t we there yet?’

Previously, with this kind of prison transport vehicle start, they would basically arrive at the target location in about ten minutes. But this time, nearly twenty minutes had passed since Lin Ye’s consciousness transferred into Nikolai’s body. The system couldn’t have such a large margin of error.

That left only one possibility.

’Has the event already started?’

Lin Ye’s eyeballs moved slightly as he began to inconspicuously observe the other people in the prison transport vehicle, but he didn’t notice anything abnormal about them.

”Sir, aren’t we there yet? I’d like to use the toilet.”

Lin Ye spoke to the overseer in front.

”Hold it. We’ll be there soon.”

That overseer glared at Lin Ye, answering in a rough tone.

Lin Ye didn’t argue back. He also hoped they would arrive at the mission location as soon as possible.

Another five minutes passed. The overseer in front finally noticed the abnormality. According to the action plan, they were already slightly delayed, but they hadn’t encountered anything that could have caused the delay.

This meant they had likely already fallen into an abnormal situation.

The driver began to slow down. The squad leader and overseers carefully observed the scenes outside the window, but this was meaningless because Lin Ye had already looked once and found nothing.

The scenes outside the window weren’t unchanging, nor were they looping repetitively. They were just ordinary scenes that kept changing.

The D-Class personnel also sensed the ominous atmosphere. They nervously observed the overseers in front.

”I need to use the toilet. Can we stop?”

Lin Ye spoke up again.

He wanted to shorten this meaningless time.

”Stop talking nonsense! Stay put!”

That overseer with the rough tone let out a somewhat irritable voice.

”...Fine. Stop the car and let him go use the toilet on the side.”

The squad leader was a burly black man with a crew cut. He had already realized the current situation and planned to let Lin Ye go down to scout the way.

The driver pulled the car over to the roadside. An overseer got out, cautiously approached the back door, and unlocked it.

Lin Ye pushed the car door open and very straightforwardly got out, walking towards the highway guardrail.

Everyone in the car was staring at Lin Ye. They all wanted to gather information about this place through him.

However, just as Lin Ye was about to step over the guardrail, he suddenly stopped his right leg that was raised above the guardrail.

”Why aren’t you moving?”

An overseer let out a tense voice.

”Uh, this seems to be a piece of cardboard...”

Lin Ye extended his right hand to touch the top of the guardrail. There was a layer of cardboard there painted with the scene outside the guardrail. Before the tip of his toe touched the cardboard, he hadn’t discovered at all that the scene outside the guardrail was fake.

Not a single bit.

”What are you talking about...”

That overseer got out of the car in disbelief. Holding his gun with both hands, he walked near Lin Ye and reached out to feel the top of the guardrail.

”...It really is cardboard.”

The overseer turned his head to report.

”Mhm. Fire at that layer of cardboard. See what’s on the other side.”

The squad leader sitting in the car spoke.

”Yes.”

The overseer raised the muzzle of his gun, about to fire at the cardboard.

”Wait! Don’t shoot yet!”

Lin Ye raised both hands and said loudly.

”Ignore him! Fire!”

The squad leader in the car also said loudly.

The overseer was just about to fire when he noticed Lin Ye, hands raised, walking in front of him, using his body to block the gun muzzle.

”What are you doing?”

The overseer didn’t understand what madness this D-Class personnel was having.

”That thing behind you isn’t your squad leader, but another ’layer.’ Don’t you think its command is strange? Encountering this kind of situation, firing directly without any testing at all—would your squad leader really give such a reckless command? And normally, this kind of thing should be ordered to us D-Class personnel, right?”

Before touching it, Lin Ye also couldn’t see if there was a layer behind him. But this squad leader’s command in the car was very problematic. Based on his understanding of the organization, squad leaders should all be quite reliable people.

”...You stand here and don’t move.”

That overseer was clearly persuaded by Lin Ye’s words. He also felt the squad leader’s command was somewhat strange, but he had just subconsciously followed orders before.

”No, I’ll go with you. I’m afraid a layer might separate us.”

Without spiritual energy, Lin Ye was just an ordinary person. If he had a gun-wielding overseer cooperating with him, it would be a tremendous help.
