Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

”I don’t have a spare magazine, otherwise I wouldn’t have needed to use the police baton to deal with those monsters.”

Thud!

Xivia kicked open the warehouse door, the metal lock deforming from the force.

”...Are all police officers nowadays this fierce?”

Mia was greatly shocked.

”Come help me make Molotov cocktails quickly! Those monsters will come looking for us soon!”

Lin Ye rummaged through the warehouse for the materials needed to make simple Molotov cocktails. The warehouse’s supplies were much more complete than the pharmacy room’s, so he quickly arranged the various materials in order.

Next was just repeatedly following the production process. Lin Ye was very good at this kind of assembly line operation. With the help of Mia and Xivia, they quickly produced a large number of simple Molotov cocktails.

”Are you really a doctor?”

Xivia couldn’t help but ask.As a police officer, she felt she might have encountered a dangerous individual hiding in the hospital.

”Of course, I’m just an ordinary doctor who knows how to make Molotov cocktails.”

Lin Ye loaded the simple Molotov cocktails into a large rolling trash can, then took the cocktails and a lighter and walked out of the warehouse.

Mia was responsible for pushing the trash can, while Xivia followed beside Mia holding her police baton.

The corridor was unusually quiet. Contrary to Lin Ye’s expectations, those monsters had not charged up.

He had thought the monsters’ screams were some way of transmitting information, but now it seemed he had overthought it.

”Officer, how much longer until we can expect rescue?”

Lin Ye turned to look at Xivia.

”...I’m not sure either. When we entered the hospital, screams seemed to come from other places too. My teammates were all killed by those monsters. If you hadn’t helped, I might have been killed by the endless stream of monsters too. If other places are like this one, I’m not sure when a rescue team will pass by here.”

Xivia took out her phone and found it had zero signal bars. When they were attacked by the monsters earlier, they had already lost contact with headquarters.

”Look outside, quick!”

Mia suddenly stopped outside a patient room door, her expression one of great astonishment, as if she had seen something particularly strange.

Lin Ye walked behind Mia and looked inside the patient room.

There was nothing special inside the patient room. The problem was the scene outside the window.

Thick, grayish-white fog enveloped the entire city. A massive shadow loomed faintly visible within the dense fog. If Lin Ye remembered correctly, there had been nothing there before.

”...It seems no one will come to rescue us for a while.”

Lin Ye found it hard to understand why a world that had been completely normal that morning had suddenly become like this, but he had one strength: an extremely strong ability to accept things.

If his best friend suddenly cut ties with him, he wouldn’t have any questions; he would easily accept and agree with that outcome.

As long as you have no expectations, you can accept any ending.

”...What should we do now? Hide here, or try to escape?”

Mia also quickly accepted their current situation and was the first to ask.

”Is there food here?”

The situation outside was too bizarre. Xivia didn’t think going out to take risks was a good idea.

”The patient rooms should have some leftover food. The warehouse also has a lot of saline solution. But I think we’d better leave here as soon as possible. Look at the first-floor exterior wall.”

Lin Ye didn’t pay excessive attention to the distant shadow, instead continuously checking the situation around the hospital.

”Is that those monsters? They’ve gathered together?”

Xivia was somewhat uncertain. Due to the dense fog, she could only see a large number of shadows constantly wriggling near the exterior wall.

”I can’t see clearly either, but something bad is continuously progressing beneath our feet. If we don’t do something now, it might be too late later.”

Lin Ye didn’t want to sit and wait for death.

”You’re right, but how do we get down? When I came up, screams were everywhere. Now the corpses are gone. Who knows how many monsters are down there?”

Looking at the wriggling shadows downstairs, Xivia had a bad premonition.

”Uh, can we go down via the exterior wall? Make ropes from curtains and climb down? Don’t they have that kind of scene in movies?”

Mia suddenly spoke up.

”The risk is a bit high... but it’s not impossible.”

Lin Ye thought for a moment and found this seemed like a good idea.

”We can go down a floor to take a look, find the lowest floor without monsters... But are you really okay with this? Climbing down curtains requires some strength and courage. This ordinary doctor should be fine, but you... are you also an ordinary nurse?”

Xivia glanced at Mia’s almost muscle-less arms, doubting she could last more than a few seconds.

”Huh? Is it hard? It looked pretty simple in TV dramas.”

Mia’s statement was quite unreliable.

”It’s fine, I can carry her down on my back. The trash can is yours.”

Lin Ye simply wouldn’t give Mia a chance to cause trouble.

”Then there’s no problem.”

Xivia didn’t seem to mind the trash can’s weight at all.

The three collected some curtains and essential supplies, then went downstairs via the staff passage. Only when they reached the third floor did they see something blocking the entire stairwell below.

Lin Ye didn’t make much noise, nor did he examine that ’something’ too closely. Instead, he directly led the two into the third floor.

The situation on the third floor was similar to the seventh: the corridor only had some severed limbs and bloodstains left behind, with no corpses and no monsters.

”Those monsters might have fused together. The corpses in the building have become fusion material for the monster. We need to leave here before the monster completes its fusion, otherwise we’re dead.”

Lin Ye lowered his voice.

”How do you know this fusion hasn’t finished yet?”

Xivia looked at Lin Ye with confusion.

”Think about the characteristics of those monsters before. If the fusion ended, this giant monster wouldn’t just lie quietly down there; it would go looking for new prey. We must leave before that happens because we don’t know how the giant monster will move.”

Lin Ye looked down through the window. The second floor and below were covered with various alien flesh structures crawling over the walls. Those flesh structures were slowly wriggling, as if breathing.

”The building entrance. There’s a rain shelter there. It doesn’t have flesh chunks on it.”

Mia’s reaction speed was even a bit faster than Lin Ye’s.

”Good, we’ll go down from there. First to the platform, then jump down from the platform. Officer, is your police car in the parking lot?”

Thinking through every step of a procedure before performing it was Lin Ye’s habit.

”Yes, I have the keys. The police car is over there, but I’m not sure if it’s blocked by other vehicles.”

Due to the heavy fog, Xivia couldn’t see the parking lot situation clearly.
