Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

”What can I possibly do against a creature that even you all feel threatened by?”

Lin Ye sensed the problem here might be even more troublesome than the ritual outside.

”Don’t say that, Senior! You’re the strong one who defeated me. Handling such a small matter should be a piece of cake for you!”

Clearly, this cute junior had no intention of letting Lin Ye off the hook.

”The enemy is already trapped, but dealing with it isn’t so easy. If you don’t take care of it now, once it escapes this area, it will become your problem.”

If it wasn’t absolutely necessary, Little Ye wouldn’t have dragged Lin Ye into this.

”What do you think?”

Lin Ye didn’t agree outright. After all, this wasn’t just his business alone.

”I don’t like being threatened, but if you think we should do this, I’ll stay with you.”

Xivia patted Lin Ye’s back. She wasn’t usually this agreeable.”Alright then, I agree. What do you need us to do?”

Lin Ye preferred to deal with potential future troubles in advance.

”Don’t rush. Even if I told you now, it wouldn’t mean anything. Senior, do you remember the game we played before?”

The junior said seriously.

”...That troublesome?”

Lin Ye really didn’t want to go through that kind of game again.

”No, it’s even more troublesome than that.”

The junior’s smile froze on her face like a photograph. The lead-gray sky gradually darkened, as if someone had flipped the world’s light switch. When the entire world plunged into darkness, Lin Ye completely lost consciousness.

”Doctor Lin? Are you okay?”

A voice startled Lin Ye awake. He looked around and found himself in the doctor’s office he knew all too well.

”...Sorry, I must have dozed off.”

Lin Ye vigorously rubbed his hair. He felt like he had experienced an extremely long dream, so long it far exceeded what a man in his twenties should be able to conceive.

”Didn’t sleep well last night? Will you be okay for the surgery later?”

Mia handed Lin Ye a wet wipe. The cold sensation gradually brought him back to reality.

”It’s fine. Even half-asleep, I can perform the surgery normally.”

Lin Ye stood up, stretched his body, and took a sip of warm water from the cup on the desk.

”As expected of Doctor Lin, the one with zero mistakes.”

Mia said with a smile.

”It’s nothing special, just a matter of practiced hands.”

Lin Ye didn’t find this job particularly difficult. Ultimately, modern surgical procedures had fixed protocols. As long as the preoperative preparations were correct, what the doctor needed to do was already decided before the surgery even began.

”Doctor Lin! The patient in bed five suddenly took a turn for the worse! He’s fading fast now!”

A nurse on duty at the station burst into the doctor’s office, speaking anxiously to Lin Ye.

”I’m coming right now!”

Lin Ye hurriedly got up and rushed towards the ward. He recalled the file of the patient in bed five. It was just a common gastric polyp, a very stable condition. How could it deteriorate like this?

Lin Ye soon arrived at the patient’s ward. The patient lay on the bed, clutching his stomach and wailing in agony. A circle of anxious family members surrounded the bed.

”Doctor Lin is here! Make way for Doctor Lin!”

”Doctor Lin, he was fine just a moment ago, then suddenly became like this. You must save him!”

Seeing Lin Ye enter the room, the family members hurriedly stepped aside.

”Did you do anything before this? What are you feeling now?”

Lin Ye quickly walked to the bedside to check the patient’s condition.

”AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!”

The patient didn’t answer Lin Ye’s question, just kept clutching his stomach and emitting miserable howls.

Lin Ye could only have others hold the patient down, then used a stethoscope to listen to the sounds inside the patient’s body.

’...What is that sound?’

This was the first time Lin Ye had heard such a sound from inside a patient. It was as if all the organs inside the other person were freely moving around.

And this free movement was gradually intensifying... as if those organs were struggling to break free from the body’s restraints.

Lin Ye suddenly took a step back. A blood-red intestine shot out from the patient’s body and stabbed into a nearby family member.

That family member’s originally ruddy complexion instantly turned deathly pale. The intestine made gurgling sounds as if drinking water, absorbing fluids from the family member’s body.

”This force is wrong! Run!”

Lin Ye pulled Mia and ran towards the ward door. He was just an ordinary surgeon; dealing with intestines that shot out and killed people was not a doctor’s job.

That family member was quickly drained dry. More intestines shot out from the patient’s body, stabbing into other family members who hadn’t yet grasped the situation.

Just as Lin Ye was about to take Mia and escape to the underground garage via the emergency stairwell, he heard screams echoing from the dimly lit stairwell below.

Screams from various floors rose one after another. The entire hospital had plunged into chaos.

”We can hide in the pharmacy room first! I have the key!”

Mia grabbed Lin Ye, and the two hurriedly ran towards the pharmacy room.

The hospital Lin Ye worked at was the city’s largest, with a huge number of patients and family members on every floor. Going downstairs now would likely mean getting stuck in the emergency stairwell, possibly even causing a stampede.

”What the hell was that thing?”

After locking the pharmacy room door, Mia asked fearfully.

”I don’t know either. It looked like some kind of freely moving intestine, but that completely contradicts the physiological structure of intestines.”

Lin Ye felt a headache coming on. This was the first time he had encountered something so bizarre.

”There are screams downstairs too. Are there many of these monsters?”

The sound of people running echoed in the corridor, making Mia lower her voice.

”Probably... My phone is on the office desk. What about you?”

Lin Ye wanted to use a phone to get more information. As for calling the police, with an incident like this happening in a hospital full of people, it was impossible that no one had already called.

”I didn’t bring mine either. I fell asleep playing with it last night, and it’s charging now.”

Mia wanted to hit her past self from last night.

”Looks like we can only hide here and wait for rescue.”

Lin Ye’s gaze swept over the nearby medicine cabinet. There was almost nothing inside that could be used against that kind of monster, except for medical alcohol and adrenaline.

Of course, the adrenaline was for themselves.

Lin Ye opened the medicine cabinet and began making simple Molotov cocktails. He had seen the production process before, and they happened to have suitable materials here.

This way, when monsters broke down the door, they at least wouldn’t be completely defenseless.

”You know how to make Molotov cocktails?”

Mia could probably guess Lin Ye’s intention.

”I’ve only seen the process and principles. This is my first time making them, but there shouldn’t be any problems.”

With Mia’s help, Lin Ye quickly turned the spare alcohol in the pharmacy room into eight simple Molotov cocktails. But now a problem arose: he didn’t have a lighter on him.
