Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

Maybe I can take off my shoes and socks, and through the soles of my feet in contact with the ground, control my spiritual energy to carve the numbers on the floor...

Lin Ye walked while taking off his shoes and socks. The ground was very cold, but through the direct contact of his flesh with the floor, he successfully used his spiritual energy to leave the numbers on the ground.

This level of consumption was something Lin Ye could sustain for a long time.

Lin Ye began moving forward at a constant speed. Walking back and forth repeatedly in one dark section would quickly allow the footsteps to catch up, so he could only change his movement method.

But Lin Ye soon discovered that maintaining a completely constant speed was easier said than done.

As long as he slowed down, the distance between him and the footsteps would shorten. As long as he accelerated, the speed of the footsteps would increase. This variation between fast and slow was difficult to manage.

This was Lin Ye. If it were someone else, they’d probably have started running forward by now.

Lin Ye tried his best to maintain a constant forward speed by controlling the rhythm of his steps and breathing. He didn’t think he could keep this up forever, but at least he had to persist until he reached his limit.

After passing through one discontinuous loop, Lin Ye immediately turned back upon exiting a dark section and entered another discontinuous loop. The entire process went very smoothly. When Lin Ye left the dark section, the footsteps hadn’t even entered it yet.

But soon, Lin Ye discovered a problem. The distance between the footsteps and him had shortened somewhat.Damn it, I should have entered the dark section and come right back out. Numbers 1 and 2 inferred they arrived at the same lit section. As long as you enter the dark section, you can come out!

Lin Ye noted this information. This way, he could save some time when changing directions later.

Then can I keep entering and exiting dark sections to scout the path? Seems not, because then I wouldn’t be able to carve the section numbers...

Lin Ye could only continue moving at a constant speed through the discontinuous loops. After passing through the tenth discontinuous loop, he had already started jogging. The footsteps had approached to right behind him.

Can’t find any pattern at all. Could it be there’s no pattern here? And the exit... surely there must be an exit, right?

Lin Ye could only accelerate to shake off the footsteps, but soon the footsteps also increased to the same speed.

This simulation is about to end too. Pity I still haven’t found the exit.

Lin Ye wasn’t afraid of wasting the results of this simulation. As long as he remembered the positions and quantity of dark sections he passed through, he could remember those incorrect discontinuous loop entrances.

It’s just a shame he couldn’t preserve the numbers. This would have some impact on finding the pattern.

The footsteps continued approaching. Lin Ye began running in the passageway, but since running made it difficult to maintain constant speed, the footsteps behind him drew closer and closer.

But even with the footsteps right at his heels, Lin Ye wouldn’t give up searching for a way out. Because every simulation felt real to Lin Ye. Perhaps one day, he would encounter a similar situation outside of a simulation. Giving up now would mean giving up on himself at that future moment.

Because by then, he might not necessarily find the correct way out either.

Just as the footsteps approached right behind Lin Ye, he suddenly saw a large door at the end of the passageway.

This was the first time he had seen a door in the passageway.

Excited, Lin Ye squeezed out the last of his physical strength while using spiritual energy to strengthen his legs. Only then did he manage to pull ahead of the footsteps that were almost pressed against his back by a small distance.

”This is the victory of brute force!”

Lin Ye forcefully pushed open the door. Inside was a sports stadium.

This place was very familiar to Lin Ye. He had entered through this very door and had even picked up trash in the stands.

”So beautiful.”

Disappointment lasted only for a moment. Lin Ye quickly thought of some things, things that had been accumulating from the very beginning all the way to the moment he pushed open the door.

Lin Ye turned to face the footsteps. He no longer had the strength to run. Running further forward wouldn’t get him out of this stadium anyway.

”I believe beautiful things must have their correct meaning, just like various mathematical formulas with their unique aesthetic appeal. What do you think?”

Lin Ye focused his mind to face the footsteps. Compared to turning into a fountain of flesh and blood, he preferred a clean, decisive head explosion.

Before his head exploded, Lin Ye saw a large variety of shoes—high heels, canvas shoes, children’s shoes, sandals, leather shoes...

Among them were three pairs of shoes identical in style to the ones Lin Ye had taken off earlier.

Unlike the other shoes, those three pairs were stained with fresh blood.

The blood on the other shoes had all dried.

Buzz buzz buzz...

Lin Ye opened his eyes. He was back in the moving prison transport vehicle, surrounded by familiar D-Class personnel.

[Remaining Simulation Attempts: 8]

If my guess is correct, that should be the exit...

Lin Ye believed the exit was located at the intersection point of the discontinuous loops on both sides of the passageway.

He had four reasons for this judgment:

There indeed was such an intersection point. Both times he passed through, it was the same side of the intersection point. The passageways on both sides were not directly connected. Setting it up this way would have a unique aesthetic appeal.Lin Ye mentally sketched out the complete structure of the entire passageway according to his conjecture. His guess might not be accurate, but the unique spatial structure between those discontinuous loops gave him a pleasant feeling.

To avoid ruining his current mood, Lin Ye didn’t put on a frightened expression this time. After entering the sports stadium, Lin Ye pushed open the door, urging the other D-Class personnel to abandon their naive ideas.

”This isn’t my first time entering the Alien Space. I’ve been to this stadium before. I can lead you out of here, but you must follow my instructions.”

Lin Ye very straightforwardly revealed information about the stadium. Outside the stadium was an unknown area. To conserve his Simulation Attempts, he needed to bring along a few teammates.

That D-Class personnel who looked very ordinary completely ignored Lin Ye. In his view, it was impossible for Lin Ye to have been here before. These words were just Lin Ye’s method of taking control of the team.

Lin Ye could only take the burly man and the old man into the passageway, leaving the other person behind in the stadium to collect supplies.

”Now follow me. We need to reach the key position before he attracts that thing that makes the footsteps.”

Lin Ye led the way in front, with the two men following behind him. After a while, they heard running sounds coming from behind. Soon, the running sounds stopped, replaced by that strange footstep sound.

”Stop! Move forward at my speed! Don’t accelerate!”

Lin Ye had slowed down as soon as he heard the running sounds, so the footsteps didn’t accelerate.

The three of them successfully arrived at that intersection section. Lin Ye took the lead in turning back. Although the burly man and the old man didn’t understand, they didn’t say much.

By continuously adjusting their speed, the three of them always maintained a certain distance from the footsteps. This passageway was a straight line. Under Lin Ye’s guidance, they successfully found the large door at the end of the passageway.

Looking at the door of the same style, Lin Ye sensed a certain kind of malicious amusement.

If what’s behind this is still the sports stadium, that would be interesting.

Thinking this, Lin Ye pushed open the door.
