Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

The three teammates kept apologizing to Lin Ye, never expecting something like this to happen.

Lin Ye magnanimously chose to forgive them. Betrayal wasn’t a big deal to him because he had never trusted his teammates in the first place.

The four of them entered the portal one by one, concluding this Station Mission.

【Station Mission completed. Rewarding one special metal treasure chest based on mission difficulty.】

【Extra Mission 1 completed. Rewarding one extra mission treasure chest.】

【Extra Mission 2 completed. Rewarding one extra mission treasure chest.】

【Extra Mission 3 completed. Rewarding one extra mission treasure chest.】

【Please draw today’s card.】

”My turn! Draw a card!”After returning to the Shelter, Lin Ye got up from his bed and performed a mental card draw.

This time, the card face depicted a butterfly with brilliantly red wings. As the card dissipated, a palm-sized red butterfly appeared in the center of the Shelter.

The butterfly fluttered its wings and flew onto Lin Ye’s head, perching there quietly like a hairpin.

”Hello?”

Lin Ye tilted his head in front of the mirror. Seeing no reaction from the butterfly, he began processing the loot piled in the center of the room.

First was the red special metal treasure chest.

Opening the chest, he found a white silk-like card inside.

【Consciousness Parasitism】

【Using this card allows you to parasitize your own consciousness into another living being, gradually consuming their consciousness and taking control of their body (1/1).】

【Note: Equivalent exchange. I’ll give you my consciousness, and you give me your body.】

’Hmm... powerful, but not useful for now.’

Lin Ye would never abandon his own body unless it became utterly unusable.

Considering the Risk Hedging Plan, this card did represent a potential escape route.

’I hope I never have to use this card.’

Storing the card away, Lin Ye continued opening chests.

The chest from Extra Mission 1 contained only one shelter upgrade blueprint.

【Use shelter upgrade blueprint?】

”Use it.”

【Please collect ten mutation organs from third-tier Mutation Creatures as materials for shelter upgrade (0/10).】

Lin Ye directly submitted the frozen mutation organs he had prepared earlier.

【Shelter upgrade task completed. Upgrade shelter tier?】

”Yes.”

【Upgrade complete.】

Lin Ye checked the new Shelter information:

【Shelter Information】

【Tier: Fourth】

【New Function: Mining Area (Locked)】

【Status: Absolutely Safe (35 days, 13 days remaining)】

【Note: Please upgrade your shelter tier within 35 days.】

”What kind of facility is a Mining Area? Why does it need to be unlocked?”

Lin Ye found it hard to imagine the connection between a mining area and a shelter.

【Survivors can choose Mining Area tasks during Nighttime Activities. The system will assign corresponding Mining Area tasks based on the survivor’s strength. Completing Mining Area tasks unlocks the Mining Area function. The higher the task difficulty, the more valuable the unlocked Mining Area.】

【Note: Mining Areas are an important future source of income for survivors. Please carefully choose the timing for unlocking your Mining Area.】

’Well, I’ll unlock it tonight.’

Unlock early, enjoy early. Lin Ye’s strength was already severely over-leveled. Regardless of task difficulty, mining areas weren’t safe places. The more valuable the mining area, the more dangerous it would surely be. He didn’t want to be on edge every single day just for mining.

After upgrading the shelter, Lin Ye opened the treasure chest from Extra Mission 2.

Inside was only one Consolidation Potion. However, this potion was clearly much higher-grade than the previous ones. As tiers increased, the value of Consolidation Potions would certainly rise, and their acquisition difficulty would gradually increase.

Putting away the Consolidation Potion, Lin Ye opened the treasure chest from Extra Mission 3.

Inside lay a rune card.

【Basic Rune -- Parasitism】

【A card that allows learning the basic Parasitism rune.】

【Note: Use with caution if mental energy is insufficient.】

’Holy shit! Finally got another rune card!’

After the initial phase, the drop rate for rune cards had plummeted off a cliff. It had been a long time since a rune card had appeared in the trading area.

Lin Ye directly used the rune card. A massive amount of knowledge related to parasitism flooded into his brain. However, this level of knowledge infusion could no longer affect him much.

In the blink of an eye, Lin Ye returned to a normal state.

After organizing the knowledge about parasitism in his mind, Lin Ye took out the estate of the manor’s master: a space ring made of black crystal material.

【Manor Master’s Space Ring】

【Contains the estate of the manor’s master.】

【Note: Please do not wear it during combat. If the ring is damaged, the contents inside may be lost to unknown space.】

Lin Ye used his mental energy to perceive the interior space of the ring. The entire space was less than one cubic meter in size, crammed full of various items related to parasites.

Through the old man’s notes, Lin Ye quickly understood the manor master’s past.

”A fool tempted by parasites, attempting to master parasitic power, only to end up being manipulated by the parasites.”

The old man’s notes recorded his entire process of learning parasitic knowledge, even including the method to open a Parasitic Gate.

Lin Ye definitely wouldn’t open any Parasitic Gate. It was precisely because the old man opened a Parasitic Gate that he ended up in his current state.

The ring contained many materials related to parasitism, including the corpses of various parasites with different effects.

Lin Ye spent some time organizing all the spiritual energy materials from both the ring and his loot space.

After handling all the loot, Lin Ye took care of his plants and animals for a while before preparing himself a sumptuous breakfast.

Once the breakfast was set, Lin Ye opened the Group Chat and the Music Box to start his meal.

”Brothers, anyone get a blueprint? Tell everyone about the shelter’s new function.”

”Getting blueprints still depends on the red maze. It’s hard to get blueprints from Station Missions.”

”Hard to say. Out of over five hundred thousand people, a few lucky ones are bound to exist.”

Lin Ye: That’s right. It’s about time my luck turned good.

”Damn, you’re not just ’lucky’.”

”Brother Lin, you’re awesome!”

Lin Ye posted the information after his shelter upgrade in the group.

”Mining Area? Is it the mining area I’m thinking of?”

”Damn, didn’t expect we’d have to mine.”

”Might not be a real mining area. Could be a place to collect materials. The higher the task difficulty, the better the assigned ’mining area’.”

”So, complete the task immediately? Or delay for a while?”

”But delaying means no income during that period. You might even die during that time.”

”Right. So I’m choosing a Mining Area task tonight... Who can lend me a shelter upgrade blueprint?”

”No blueprint and still talking nonsense here?”

”I have a blueprint, but I plan to choose the Mining Area task tomorrow. Hope the brothers choosing tasks today can give some advice.”

”You’re hoping Brother Lin gives you advice, right?”

Lin Ye: I will choose a Mining Area task tonight. I’ll give a general overview of the process tomorrow. However, you’d better not use my task difficulty as a reference.
